Well most have been lost to time, but archeologists have discovered the first modern parking lots near the Acropolis. There is still argument about their purpose since ancient Greece had no cars. Oh well
I absolutely loved this coaster in its first iteration. It was, by far, the roughest, jumpiest, loudest coaster I had ever been on (out of a couple hundred), and the air time on the first hill was amazing. It’s still a bit bouncy, but the drop into the parking lot is definitely slower, presumably due to the barrel roll ahead. I just don’t know why every coaster needs to have an inversion. Still a unique and fun ride, but also an example of change not always being for the better. Awesome camera work.
My frustration of never having a way to ride coasters has come to an end. For labor day weekend, I hit the Dells along with a couple friends, and in addition to a weekend full of activities, I was barely able to squeeze in all 4 major woodies at Mt Olympus. And as expected, this was my favorite. Unlike several of the reviews, I didn't find this rough at all. Rode in in the back seat and the airtime was intense on the first drop. It is an excellent world class ride that competes with some of the best roller wood coasters in the world. The roughest part is the parts before the lift hill, but you are not going at a fast enough speed for it to be too unbearable. My only surprise was the tunnel lights weren't on. It was pitch black, which makes it nearly impossible to tell when you're riding sideways.

Aye! I live near there! I can confirm that the ride is absolutely AMAZING!!!!! Just be careful, you might get a headache when you stop suddenly. Unfortunately, the lights in the tunnels were removed, but it makes an even greater experience! With a 140ft drop, and going 70 MPH, the Hades 360 is my favorite ride!
Lmaoooo. It totally is bumpy as hell! I went on it a really long time ago and it hurts sooo bad lol. I got off of that ride and my back was in so much pain!
All New Episodes That why you gotta work out your neck muscles in the gym by hooking an elastic band around your forehead to the main entrance door handle and nod your noggin like you are nodding yes over and over. Then and only then will your neck muscles be comparable to a giraffes. Oh yea and then you won't get neck lash anymore, like ever.
Hades is one of my favorite roller coasters. We were just passing through Wisconsin when we decided to stay at Hotel Rome and go to Mt. Olympus. What a gem to find in the middle of nowhere!
I heard about this while at my home park Six Flags Great America (Gurnee, IL). Decided to make the drive. The park itself is small and mostly a water park. What I didn't expect was how aggressive of a coaster this would be. The intro before the lift hill alone made it fantastic. The tunnels were blacked out unlike this video, and made it that much more intense. I tell ya. Going to the Dells was one of the best coaster trips ever. I highly recommend this coaster.
And I certainly enjoyed it with its 800 ft long tunnel pitch black on august 15, 2021 and kingda ka lost his best friend and we lost one of the 2 strata roller coasters on that same day and cedar point will fix top thrill dragster in a new reimagined way on may 4, 2024
I don't know how to explain to others how great this coaster is. It just TRUCKS! When I've approached this coaster at night, I've been apprehensive about boarding it. The roar of the coaster is intimidating. So powerful! Just say a prayer first and then say thank you when you return to the station. I've never felt a coaster with such power. It's really that good.
This coaster is bananas. Just did this with my daughter and it was a blast. There aren't lights in the tunnel like you see here. You drop into darkness before coming up into the barrel roll.
First thing folks, it's a wooden roller coaster. There's not many left today. Next, they improved Hades. Of course it's going to jostle you around, it's wooden! I can count on both hands, the amount of bruises I've received simply by riding a metal monster roller coaster. Nothing beats a roller coaster ride that's all wood. Those are the classic rides and the very model of how many are constructed today. So, ride one. If you get bumped and bruised, it was a good ride. They can only pad them carts so much. Try adding your own padding. Stuff a fanny pack. There are many ways we can. Wicked ride.
Ok. Insanely good way to start a ride before the actual lift hill and drop, then going about a trillion miles an hour for the rest of the ride sounds and looks like an unbelievably fun ride!
watching this pov makes it look like it would be better in the back row. never in my life did i think i would ever say a woodie would be better in the back row until now. the back row looks INCREDIBLE in terms of airtime and also looks way smoother in the back. weird. i really want to ride this.

I've been on that rollercoaster before they added the corkscrew. I thought that was insane! Now I really can't wait to ride it once more in a week and a half from now.
Good to see new trains. I rode this coaster last summer and wondered if we would get out alive. No lights on in the tunnels. In my 30 year career of coasters I never felt physically and psychologically vulnerable until Hades.
Before the roller coaster has even gotten to the lift hill the guy's goin, "whooooooaaah whoooooooaaaaah whooooooaaaaah" and then after the coaster goes down the hill: "WHOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAH WHOOOAHH WHOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAH!"
ahaha since then both of the tunnels he entered have been turned completely dark and it's terrifying! it constantly feels like you're going to hit something, it's almost suffocating (but not in a bad way. it's only the pressure from the air that makes your feel that way). you go under the parking lot in both cases and i love it!
No video on earth can prepare you for how rough this ride is, but it’s always an absolute blast. Much more intense than I originally expected, and I had the battle scars to prove it for the day after!
I think it's cause of the sheer speed of this ride that it looks to be very aggressive, but I think the Gravity Group overall did a fantastic job with Hades 360
howardkevinm Hahah, I know!! :-P That's my whole point - first I was like "Why would they build a tiny coaster in the parking lot?!" and then when I watched the rest of the video I was like "aaaaaahhhh!'"
I really like how they decided to put the barrel roll right after you exit the tunnel so soon as your damn eyes get to adjust to the damn light you realize your ass is upside down!lol
Imagine if you had been on Hades before the Gravity Group made it awesome and had not seen the barrel roll, then you rode it... That would be a surprise
Gravity Group designs and build Hades the whole time. They just came in and did a re-modification to it, but it was Gravity Group's first coaster in 2005.
okay, this thing is most assuredly for the avid coaster rider....it is fast, rough, rugged and a non stop thrill ride. you don't fine many wooden coasters that are as big a challenge as this one.........CONGRATS ON ONE OF THE BEST WOODEN COASTERS EVER.
The park calls it a barrel roll, but really, does it matter? You go upside down. That's really all that's important. You can call it the "twisty looping toothpicky thingy" and it really doesn't matter.
Yup it's still running :) I just went on it yesterday actually! Though they did add lighting into the tunnel so it's kind of a bummer but it's definitely still going
Those who think the Hades 360 hurts and is rough haven't been on the original one before it was changed in 2013. It is now more smooth and almost painless by comparison. I first rode on it about 6 years ago and remember it hurting so badly. I felt like I'd been punched everywhere and even thought I'd hurt my neck. It was the roughest roller coaster I'd ever been on. I went on it again yesterday and, very surprisingly, loved it. It was the highlight of my trip to Mt. Olympus, actually. Wooden roller coasters like this one are usually a little more rough by nature but the changes made to it have made it actually enjoyable to ride. The Cyclops and Zeus(the other two main wooden roller coasters in the same park) are now way more rough, clunky, and painful in comparison, especially on the turns. I think its time to make changes to those rides as well.
i went to wisconsin with a few friends and we stayed at mt.olympus for about 4 days and it was so fun... the water rides and the Rollercoasters... Apollo's swing was one of my favorite... but hades 360 was the best. it was my first major Rollercoaster and i went on it at 930 pm... so it was legit the best roller coaster ive ever been on (so far)
3 things I love about this video: 1. the length og the ride (if it's too short u don't rmb anything) 2. how everyone screams at the best part directly before the steep drop 3. the sun is shining
Try riding that front row at night, without the lights on in the tunnel. I just did that last night. Now that adds a lot more intensity to an already VERY INTENSE rollercoaster. I also rode it front row earlier today.
They should paint the tunnel or shut the lights out... Just to make it better because personally I liked the old Hades because the new trains hurt and the barrel roll is painful. They just need to do something with the tunnel
Hades and zuse were fan af zuze was more aggressive cuz the turns shook ur head like crazy but hades was faster and more fun but overal zuse was more aggressive
Spartan Pidgeon I understand that. What I don't understand is why the sign makes it sound like its very aggressive some days and other days it isn't. lol
I've been on this twice in the last week. As my second ever roller coaster ( Zeus was my first ) I'd recommend it it's a blast minus the parking lot being pitch black underneath and everyone stops screaming cause it feels like your gonna die without those tunnel lights.
This is in my top 5 woodies. It just screams. The tunnel is fantastic and the ride is pretty long. The front is the best place to ride, in my opinion, because the back is pretty rough. On a side note, the tunnel was pitch black when I rode it.
the way woodies are designed is that they FEEL faster, and the wood provides the speedier sensation, versus a technically quicker steel coaster that doesn't have the same feeling
+BoilingHotCoffee I think high speed makes it look really close but it probably isn't. I you ever ride Blue Fire when you go through the rocks it feels like you are really close and you could easily hit the rock with your arms but there's obviously enough space... if somehow you could hit something (exept on the side of the coaster because it is 100% forbidden to throw your hands out of the car for obvious lateral G forces and catwalks reasons) this would mean you are too tall for the ride and it's supposed to be written that you can't ride it!
Many wooden coasters don't have smooth ride. That's the nature of the woodies. Its going really fast so the ride gets rough. I've been on a woodie and they all ride rough but fun!!!
I've been on the coaster before, and after they reconstructed the part of the ride in the parking lot. Many years ago, Mt. Olympus used to run the coasters for two laps, not just one. Zues held some records at one time as well. The coasters in this area are built using galvanized steel beams to support the wooden track. Wisconsin winters aren't friendly to the 100% wooden construction.
The whole "under the parking lot tunnel" thing is cool!
I get paranoid when I go to Mt. Olympus because I know that my family and I might be driving over people for a second.
Bro i cant under my head feels heavy ass hell and when im down there it looks like i passed out

They should paint the tunnel or shut the lights out... Just to make it better because personally I liked the old Hades because the new trains hurt and the barrel roll is painful. They just need to do something with the tunnel
I agree completely. A missed opportunity allowing that tunnel to look like a car park instead of the underworld. The ride is called "Hades" after all.
Matt Man EXACTLY The least they could do is paint the damn thing
The lights in the tunnel were on only due to the fact that TPR was shooting the video. Normally they're off.
When i went on it the lights were out lol im just being thrown around in the dark
Matt Man The lights are normally off
Omg I've been on this ride any and everybody needs to try this!
Hades and zuse were fan af zuze was more aggressive cuz the turns shook ur head like crazy but hades was faster and more fun but overal zuse was more aggressive
Wow!! This looks like an amazing ride, and it's super fast ❤️❤️
"Haydes 360 is VERY AGGRESSIVE today!"
What the fuck is that supposed to mean? Are there somedays where it isn't aggressive?
Spartan Pidgeon I understand that. What I don't understand is why the sign makes it sound like its very aggressive some days and other days it isn't. lol
tankmaster1018 its justa little joke
TheGameAphobia Haha I understand. It just struck me as a funny way to word it on the sign
tankmaster1018 It's because roller coasters can give a more aggressive ride depending on the temperature of the tracks.
Dude the name is in the title... How could you misspell it?
This is my best tunnel roller coaster ever . I like the coaster and the tunnel.
They said hands down but put there hands up like they don't care
I noticed that as well!
Lolz
When I went 3 years ago it was not this bumpy, holy hell. Now I really can't wait to ride it again.
It looks painful but its not. I rode it twice and I didnt get hurt at all
I've been on this twice in the last week. As my second ever roller coaster ( Zeus was my first ) I'd recommend it it's a blast minus the parking lot being pitch black underneath and everyone stops screaming cause it feels like your gonna die without those tunnel lights.
Exactly, that's why it's called Hades ;)
The last time I rode this there were no lights in the tunnel and no loop.
Dude the lights where on because they knew the dude was gonna post it on youtube...
When we want on it the first time they had the light on and I want in July
there was no lupe when i went on eather. we went to mount olypos instead of noas ark water park
BOGOTTY they added the loop in 2013
Malia Perez They most likely, like me. Went there before 2013.
This is in my top 5 woodies. It just screams. The tunnel is fantastic and the ride is pretty long. The front is the best place to ride, in my opinion, because the back is pretty rough. On a side note, the tunnel was pitch black when I rode it.
is it me or are wooden coaster faster than regular metal coasters?
ITS you.. 😂 metL coasters are much faster but iTS inkt the feeling when you're riding woorden rollerzoasters
k
thats why rides in wooden coasters are much longer which makes it more fun :)
***** Steel coasters are much cheaper to maintain. Opposed to wooden roller coasters which are a pain to maintain.
the way woodies are designed is that they FEEL faster, and the wood provides the speedier sensation, versus a technically quicker steel coaster that doesn't have the same feeling
This looks like an excellent coaster.

That guy with the glasses almost hit his head
True
+BoilingHotCoffee I think high speed makes it look really close but it probably isn't. I you ever ride Blue Fire when you go through the rocks it feels like you are really close and you could easily hit the rock with your arms but there's obviously enough space... if somehow you could hit something (exept on the side of the coaster because it is 100% forbidden to throw your hands out of the car for obvious lateral G forces and catwalks reasons) this would mean you are too tall for the ride and it's supposed to be written that you can't ride it!
This coaster looks really cool! The tunnel is a cool feature! Same with the barrel roll it makes this coaster unique.
Do a barrel roll
*Corkscrew
EXz0rS I know it's a corkscrew I was making a joke
+Harvey Eidam nah it's a barrel roll
+Harvey Eidam nuuuu I don't know the reference. I know it I don't know the name ;-;
Von Nixon star fox
Many wooden coasters don't have smooth ride. That's the nature of the woodies. Its going really fast so the ride gets rough. I've been on a woodie and they all ride rough but fun!!!
Meh.
Son of Beast was a far better woodie than this.
At least on SoB they used an actual loop, not just a barrel roll.
I agree SoB was much better
SoB was rough as fuck
soB was like riding an earthquake
Ok ok ok fuck you people dosent fucking matter what the hell is better go to hell
Whoa there?
The fact that it goes under a parking lot.. love it!
i went on this ride last summer..... i was singing the my little pony opening........ovo
You probably ruined the ride for everyone by doing that.
not really -_-
Kami The-Okami no...no you did
Kami The-Okami you killed the experience completely
LIES
I've been on the coaster before, and after they reconstructed the part of the ride in the parking lot. Many years ago, Mt. Olympus used to run the coasters for two laps, not just one. Zues held some records at one time as well. The coasters in this area are built using galvanized steel beams to support the wooden track. Wisconsin winters aren't friendly to the 100% wooden construction.
