what is the point in fighting over what one YOU like better its all an opinion i own many quads and dirt bikes and either way they are both fun to ride and both help relieve stress, everyone has their own different opinions i personally think anyone could easily have fun on one or the other!

Daniel Rush Ive had less than a years experience and i was jumping 20 ft doubles and table tops in no time. Its just how you handle it. If you want to start out jumping, just jump tabletops because if you dont feel comfortable then you can take it a lot slower and get a feel for the face of the jump and then get faster as you feel comfortable. The doubles you have to hit it the same every time and you cant short yourself or you end up in the hospital...

I own both, a Kawasaki kx450f dirt bike and a Yamaha raptor 700r and I love riding them both so fuck all that quad/dirt bikes are better bullshit. Everyone will have their personal preferences so I won't waste time talking about which one is easier or harder to ride because that too is a personal issue but I will say that personally I think all off road vehicles rock and I like seeing them all in one place tearing up the trails, tracks, dunes etc. Who agrees?

Agreed. Both are fun to ride, who ever wants to get in a pissing match about which is better has a complex and should seek out a therapist. Shut up and ride everything that goes fast and loud.
Both bikes and atv are so much fun, it's all about personal preferences. And I prefer sport atvs, they give me much more thrilling expiriences, even if you do not ride them at highest speeds. Bikes are just diferent, for me more like utvs when it is about suspension. Sport atvs combine best things of bikes and utvs.

yup I agree, which is why I have a raptor 660, and a yz250(still new to dirtbikes).. the dirtbike is fun, but I can ride the hell out of my raptor in trails, which makes it more fun for me!

Quads are alot better in snow
As sombody who has owned and ridden both, quads and bikes are both a hell of a lot of fun. With that said bikes are more capable and will get you more places.

i got a LTR450 race quad never raced it just rode in fields and i must say... iv had dirt bikes all my life and i am MUCH happier on a quad forsure
Trails on a dirt bike are way easier to go fast than a quad. I rode a quad from when I was 5yrs old to 26 and just got my first dirt bike. The bike is way faster in the woods, its so much easier to go through tight trails without having to worry about your tires clipping trees etc. Plus dirt bike engines just have more balls than quads do.

From a guy that has raced on both Atvs and dirtbikes.. Dirtbikes are much easier to ride and not as harsh on the body. They take less effort to do many things, but then atvs can take less effort at times. Put in some really sandy areas or deep ruts it can be a challenge on a bike. whereas on a atv it is less of a problem... but overall atvs are harder to race and go fast when on a motocross track or even a trail. It is much easier for a 450cc engine to move a 210-220 lb machine vs a 400lb machine.. Now that means its harder/takes more speed/body english to hit jumps, whoops, etc.
***** yes they do, definitely more fun at times, specially when free riding/going off the normal path in some tight trails or through the desert.

I love both dirt bikes and quads I don't have much skill with either or but now I am much older I feel a little bit more comfortable on 4 wheels. My first quad I bought last year and have already rolled it 3 times and each time I didn't jump right up. I don't currently have a dirt bike just a dual sport and dropped it about 30 times luckily at slow speeds and was able to jump right up on my feet again. Moral of the story either way you pay it just comes down to what you feel fits you best.

In the quad you fall less times, but you can be more injuried if the quad lands on you, in the dirt bike you fall a lot more but you can´t get as injuried as in the quad.
Bikes all the way although it's harder and more unforgiving to ride than a quad. I just don't get the feeling of complete freedom and adrenaline on a quad like I get from riding a bike.

i agree with the cool thing. i think that you don't have to worry about front end washouts on quads, but quads are heavier and they tire you out, and are harder to manhandle. They are both hard to ride, but motocross, 4 or 2 wheels, is hard.

it's all good man. and not gonna lie i was in a real pissy mood when i posted that. just google the camera and type fps after it, first choice down is sony's site. i was figuring around 8x anyways just because of the speed of the dirt fallin with the cam specs....so ya have fun with your quads. wish i had the cash to buy one myself. or preferably a dirt bike xD

I think that everyone has their own opinion. Some people like quads more, some dirtbikes, Just depends what You like more

I grew up riding quads and now ride a 450 dirtbike and I can tell you quads are generally much easier to ride and to learn on than dirtbikes. I generally prefer quads for big wide open areas like Glamis though.Most experienced dirtbike riders are also very capable on a quad but you cant say the same for most quad riders if they get on a dirtbike! Dirtbikes are also much faster for instance stock vs stock a 250f dirtbike will beat a 450f quad and there in the same class power wise.

Most standard quads go 100 hours on a service, they all need their oils changed more than cars because most engines and transmissions share a small amount of oil (2 or 3 quarts and modern cars hold between 4 and 8 in the engine and another 3 in the trans) They are pushing oil changes farther on newer cars as they are using synthetic oils and cleaner burning engines. and 25,000 miles is a massive stretch compared to under 10,000, too. ;-) But its easier on an engine to change oil more often
Have you read what I need it for? To use it as an everyday vehicle in the city, traveling under the speed limit, 50 km/h or 25-30mph I think it is... I don't need anything "super" :) Just regular, and cheap to maintain.

If you enjoy a machine that is easy to ride, and is ridden on easy, smooth terrain, or if you are just new to learning a clutch, then buy a quad. If you enjoy the feeling of weightlessness, want to race, or are riding in a tighter/technical environment, then by all means, stay on two wheels. Top speed wise, a dirt bike is faster due to lighter weight, more aerodynamic design. Cornering really depends on the rider. As for quads, anyone can look good on them, unless you are definitively good.
I would say a scooter or small motorcycle would be your best bet, and you may not feel confident on one at first but the more you ride the better you will feel.

I have ridden both, honestly I prefer dirtbikes but if you get a 450cc TWO-STROKE quad you can have some serious fun. Four-jokes are not worth the time or money though!!
You quad guys are physco. I ride moto's and find the quads weird cause you cant lean them over at all
