Hey Molton. I would like to thank you for your analysis in this video. I prepared this line as a surprise weapon for my opponent and won a very comfortable game in the British Chess Championships. I haven't played a sicilian in 13 years but I am looking forward to springing this line again in club play in the future.
It’s funny-I started playing the O’Kelly several months ago and precisely because of the high playrate of 3. d4 at my rating level (non-masters). It’s such an easy to learn and you’ve done a very nice job covering the main lines and ideas.
Thank you so much. Its a very nice system and great explanation. What could you say about next variation: 3.d4 cd 4.N×d4 e5 5. Nf3 Nf6 6. Bg5 It looks like a logical move
Hey GM!... Could you make video about anti -sciclin for black.... Iam play 2.Nc6 Sci... But i have some problems with anti -sciclin .... Thx in advance ❤️❤️❤️
Hi, I know I'm asking this months after video was released. But, was hoping you could tell me what line you prefer vs. 4.QxD4 ? I've tried a few things, but if they follow up with Bishop to D2 it seems to really make most counterplay difficult. Thanks!
@@MoltonChess Thanks, I'll try that out. Found this opening surprisingly effective in all formats, but particularly in rapid/bullet. As people play the main line right into most of the time.
@@MoltonChess Thank you so much for the response. I am passing on some "word of mouth" support. Your presentations are effective, helpful and entertaining. I would like to see a playlist on the middle game, if possible. There aren't too many good ones out there. I appreciate all your effort here at your helpful site.
Great! Will add Closed Sicilian to my list and make a middlegame playlist as you suggest once I have more videos. So far I just put them in the chess tips playlist

I´ve watched many of your videos and, man, your content is pure gold.

😀
Love the Sicilian, the open ones, dragon, Scheveningen, Najdorf
Likewise!
Very instructive. Perfect pitched for the intermediate player.
Glad it helped
Awesome Content! ....Thank you so much, Sir!
You're welcome!
Great informative video. Thank you
🙌
Super helpful. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I'll stick to my Kan and Taimanov for now but I'll definitely sprinkle some O'Kelly. Thanks for great content :)
:)
THANK YOU

What could you say about next variation:
3.d4 cd
4.N×d4 e5
5. Nf3 Nf6
6. Bg5
It looks like a logical move
Maybe can just finish your development with d6 or Nc6!?
Thanks
@@ОлегЧирков-л1ы The move is Bb4
Thanks for the useful lesson! Why would you want to put the knight on d7 instead of c6?
Sometimes you might want to bring it to c5 to attack e4. Or just to protect f6
I would've loved to see what you reoommend after nxd4 nf6 bd3 instead of nc3 as its a critical line
I'm gonna play Sicilian in my next game.....👍
Enjoy!

Okay can do Anti Sicilians in future video :)

I would start by going Nc6 to chase the queen then decide if you prefer to put your bishop on g7 or play e6 then bring it out to b4-bc-e7 instead

At the end of the section on the Maroczy Bind GM Molton says that Black intends to "castle Queen-side". I assume he meant to say King-side.
Both are perhaps fine :)
Is it possible to play a Closed Sicilian against other, Non-Sicilian, openings?
Yeah you can play the same setup e4, Nc3 and g3 etc. against most openings. The positions might vary a bit though

Perhaps, you can make a CS video at your convenience.

Nice! Some lines look kinda similar to the Najdorf, might try it soon.
Yep similar in some ways
why do you say @11:19 Be7 not Qc7 because gets hit with Nd5? Wouldn't exd5 be fine after Nd5? After Rd1 you went Qc7 anyway
Yep just some move order I think there is some attack there for White if you check with an engine.
at the 10:47 mark of the video, why does black move the knight to Nd7 instead of Nc6?
thank you!
Both okay, I just prefer Nd7 to defend the other knight and attack the c3 pawn with queen
what about enemy pawn e5 after knight attacks it? thats what 700s were playing against me when i forgot to d6 first
You can play Qa5! And win the e5 pawn :)
Sir I'm 1400... should I start Sicilian or stick to caro?
Just play what you enjoy more. Both are good :)
Hi Molton, in white d4 open sicilian line. What should black do if White plays Bg5 instead of Nxe5? How can we deal with the pin. Thank you
You could chase it away with h6 or continue with d6 and developing you pieces first I suppose. Can always take the c3 knight if you need to
