One of my favorite Cubs was Jim Hickman. His clutch hit drove in the winning run. He should have been MVP of the game.

Does any full broadcast or kinescope exist for this? Didn't see any on RUclips strangely made me think it may only be in collectors circles.

Footnote: Tommy Harper, being thrown out by Bench, was the first Milwaukee Brewer to appear in an ASG.

You never run over the catcher in an All Star game. He will never live down ruining Ray’s career.

Do you remember those All Star games back then? The rivalry of the leagues was intense and those All -Star games were played like a World Series game. Unlike the other All Star games in basketball, football, and hockey, baseball kept the same fundamentals of its game played into those memorable summer classics.

@@searchforthestrangler5034 yes!! Very competitive and bigger than life. I’m an American League fan and of course pulled for the AL. I’m enjoying watching the good ole days now.

Baloney. Dirty blocking the plate, and Fosse paid the price. DON'T block the plate on Pete Rose.

Rose did what he always did, go all out every second of every game. One of the greatest players ever.

Fosse was straddling the baseline. That will get any catcher blown up.
