After watching this it just completely reinforces how truly amazing Geddy is and just the sheer amount of groove/noteapalooza in his parts. Could you please do Camera Eye next? I absolutely love Ged’s part during the final solo as Alex is screaming away toward the climax.
And with the Test For Echo t. Wonderfully done Sterling. Sounds spot on!👍👍 And I have to add... So amazing that Ged does this all while singing AND hitting those keyboard notes!
Great job Sterling! Thanks for the early Christmas present! In the Rush video they're recording in Le Studio up in Quebec where Triumph used to record. You're very talented and the tone of your bass is awesome! Looking forward to more bass covers!
You are one of those guys who can do it all, oh snap, I can't even do one (drums) good enough. God job there though, it sounded great, and that's one of my favorite Rush tunes.
I follow a guy who has covered all the rush songs on bass so when i got the notification for this video i thought that was who it was, i was honestly really confused for about the first 5-10 seconds haha. I love it though, didn’t know you were talented at “slappin’ that bass” as well. Keep up the awesome videos!
Amazing. Didn't know you played bass too!. Just some constructive criticism... the basic tone is there it just needs some drive. Connect it to a Tech 21 Geddy Lee Signature preamp and that bass will pop out even more.
Easy song on bass but if you wanted to play it like geddy, he almost never uses that middle finger. He is almost strictly with the index finger for plucking. He only ever used the middle finger for the triplets he did constantly or if the bass part was too fast. This bassline is medium speed and easy so he plucked this entire song only with his index finger. Even songs that are faster like force 10 he plays that entire song with one finger.
@@Brokenface it has a similar body style but the pickups are way different. it looks like it has a 4003 style neck pickup in both the neck and bridge positions.
This is getting out of hand - now he's playing two of them!
Exactly what I thought dude haha
I love this bass tone
Deep and snarly like Geddys
If you covered guitar as well, then you can do full band covers.
Lol true
He can probably play guitar if he can play bass that good
And keyboards too
U just gave him an idea
But where did he go?

Hold up this guy plays bass too? Jeez talk about amazing 🤩
Also you need to join rush
If Rush ever goes on tour again I would definitely recommend Sterling to fill in for drums!
Is your dad and mom musicians as well? That was flawless! Bravo Pat!!
Siiiiiiick, wasn’t expecting this lol?
Those who follow his ig knows what’s up 😉
Awesome stuff as per the usual. Your devotion to Rush and the essence of the music is truly something special. Respect from Canada 🇨🇦!
Is there anything you can’t do?
i don't think so
also, fancy seeing you here.
Amazing. Bass and drums. Nice job!
I struggle playing this on drums alone, never mind picking up a bass. True talent at work.
Update: no longer a struggle and subdivisions is next
You're awesome 😍 Slappa dat baaasss Sterling 😂
And with the Test For Echo t. Wonderfully done Sterling. Sounds spot on!👍👍
And I have to add...
So amazing that Ged does this all while singing AND hitting those keyboard notes!
Amazing work! Shades of Tyler Warren who performed all parts of the _Permanent Waves_ album (bass, drums, guitar and vocals).
Aaaand now I have a new favorite YT channel. Damn, Sterling. You are a beast!
god given musical talent of this magnitude is rare. can you write too?

This was a good song to start with.
My favorite song, but nice!
Holy Bejesus The SOUND !!! ...Does it have a Lemmy-O-Sound jack? Nice treble p/u s are they different ohms and windings or 2 of the same?
You really nailed the tone as well as the playing. What are you running your bass through? Really love whatever overdrive your using here as well.
Of Course You can Cover on Bass...what was I thinkin'? Well Done Sir! \m/ \m/
Do you play 1,2,3 or 1,2,3,4
The answer is..... yes.
you could count it in 7, or you could count it as 1,2,3,4 1,2,3 1,2,3,4 etc
WHAT?!?! YOU SICK BASTARD! BASS TOO?!?! Guess I have to turn in my RUSH fan card now! Lol keep it up Sterling!
Awesome! Can't question your talent.
Can you play YYZ next ?
What? Is there anything you can't play? Awesome job man.
Wow! Amazing. Nailing the tone so close to a Geddy/moving pictures tone...how did you achieve that?
What happened to 2112 album cover?
Amazing. Didn't know you played bass too!. Just some constructive criticism... the basic tone is there it just needs some drive. Connect it to a Tech 21 Geddy Lee Signature preamp and that bass will pop out even more.
*Rush - Leave That Thing Alone on bass?*
so cool!! I love that song! how do you get that sound? it's sounds great
What model Rick is that ?
Awesome Ric! You customized this one too, I assume?
How long have you been playing bass and is there anybody else that is Musical.
Another Tyler Warren is coming.. Cool
KILLT IT!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Holy Shit! Bass too?
Next video: 2112 (Synth cover)
That song has no Synthesizer at all.
@@Elevatorsandmovieswithanthony Not exactly true. The opening features an Arp Odyssey for the spacey sounds.
I knew it
Driven
what kind of bass are you using here?
I just want to say
PLAY YYZ YOU NEED TO
I didn't know you played Bass Guitar
This was quite a shock to see that you also can play bass very proficient
Lol here we go
Omg , i thought you were a genious on the drums , but

wut... you okay bass too?!?!
what kind of bass is that?
It might be a Rickenbacker 4001
@@Brokenface definitely not
@@owenandrew8108 Then it's similar to a 4001 but Idk what model could it be
@@Brokenface it has a similar body style but the pickups are way different. it looks like it has a 4003 style neck pickup in both the neck and bridge positions.
@@owenandrew8108 yeah!
Get yourself a nice pair of rotosound66 strings
Come on now...i hate you.....lol....nice job pal.....lol....
Seriously? You play bass, too? This IS getting out of hand!
