I think this is one of very few tutorials that truly grasps what that old school Havoc boom bap style is supposed to sound like! Gave me a much better idea of where to start when it comes to choosing samples!
I been waiting on this one J. Filt. I remeber Havoc said in an interview once that he never paid for samples, because by the time he got finished manipulating it people couldn't recognize where it came from. You gotta respect that. Shout out to Havoc. Peace and positive energy.
I don't know why but my serato sample was collecting dust for a while and after I started watching you I'm like yeah I'm going to break it out again, I got all kind of crazy samples I've been saving since 1999 I'm thinking man I got to get into my vault
So much fire! We need to give #Verysickbeats his flowers now--the commitment to keeping this aspect of our culture alive for over a decade on YT!!!🔥🔥🔥Thank you, brotha!
Thanks for another great video and the positive energy in your presentation, while making the video! I was wondering if you might can do another piano video on how to compose like Onyx! I know Onyx beats are sampled a lot, so if a 'How To Sample Like ...' video is easier.. that's also welcome ofcourse! Thank you
do you find tha tmaken tons fo beats itd add up though buying these crate samples,,,,like the thousand beats you make to make the one,,wouldnt i add up my bill on these samples or is it affordable somehow for mass producen
Awesome beat ! no doubt Havoc one of the best in his era but can u do a video about Q-Tip (especially Ali Shaheed Muhammad) I want to see that A Tribe Called Quest vibe PLEASE :))
These Havoc techniques are well useful. One question I have is did you use any filtering for that heavy kick track so it play at the same time with the snare?
I always notice you make the grimiest boom bap beats have ever listened to on RUclips do you think you can create those sounds with a analog synthesizer

Such a filthy beat. Love the gems in this. Havoc has such great beat making fundamentals on lock that I think any beat maker can learn from
Havoc is the truth
That layered kick was solid and the bass was gold
thanks for listening

That's nice 👍🏾
Thanks 💯
How do you slow a sample down but keep the pitch
Serato Sample allows this or you must use a time warp or time stretch feature on your DAW
This definitely sound like something Havoc would make. I'm getting 96 Mobb Deep vibes.
