Fun stuff. I went into this mission with my sister to try and get the weapon. Got through it eventually (more delays due to confusion with mechanics than enemy difficulty). My sister got the base weapon first time, I didn’t. Turns out my decision not to bother with seasonal content in acts 1&2 was a bad idea, as it turns out you need to be up-to-date with the seasonal storyline to get the weapon. So cue a boring grind through the seasonal activities for the next week or so before re-running it again.
It took me almost three hours my first try solo and I gave up at the final hydra. Today it took me about an hour and I made it through and got the weapon. As to doing the intrinsic perks and catalysts, I’ll have to rely on the help of strangers. Shades of the pulse rifle event…
Thanks for the helpful guide. I had 39 deaths before I finally gave up (solo) in the boss room. I will use your DPS tips which should improve my outcome!😂
Thanks for great Guide as always. But even more thanks for highlighting The Bug & explaining it. Unfortunately for me it caused the end of my solo run & I was not prepared to start the whole thing over again only for it to happen again. Super frustrating!

Thankfully I didn't get the soft lock (thought I did, but I was just too blind to see the pyramid "key") Also found an easy "cheese adjacent" spot for the final dps phase of the hydra, you can peek over the crescent shaped wall in the center and dump machine gun rounds into his face with zero splash damage.
Best guides! I’ve been stuck on this since it came out! I ended up chipping away at it through the shield as I didn’t have to deal with anything else coming at me! Not sure if it’s me but this is a harder start to an “episode” than expected.
Cheers dude... I found Celestial Nighthawk was doing nearly 500k damage on final boss and plenty of ads in between to recharge super, etc...and my falling guillotine was cooking those minotors👍
it bugged on me on my 1st try but on the 2nd try i managed to get it down to the last phase by using song of flame to become super tanky so i could damage it with whisper of the worm. when it got to the last phase 3 of those minotaurs spawned. luckily i was using speakers sight build so i healed up and then finished him off. thank you for the guide. you definitely get a sub for the walkthrough and informing us about the potential bug occuring.

Dude same thing happened to me. I bugged after 2nd damage phase and right before the laser wall spawns. It wouldn't spawn....I spent an hour moving green balls around trying everything before I realized it must be bugged and I wiped. 5 min to clear after wipe. 🤦
It bugged on me twice. Gotta attack the side the hydra faces or the cyclops spawns. If you go to the other side adds stop spawning and you have to wipe to restart the fight...hopefully bungie fixes this soon.
When I did this solo I set all the platforms ahead of time apart from left red plate platform, and I didnt get the bug. So I used the right hand site (red) plate for the for first 2 damage phases. Dont use the left until you have to later on. Dont know if thats a thing but I didnt get the bug. I went warlock with the arc soul and solar mortar simultaneously to keep on top of the adds in the boss room. Helped a lot and the phoenix dive kept me alive. I took Forbearance and a bait n switch heavy machine gun. Forebearance is perfect when your on the plates, just drive it through the bubbles, if you have one with chain reaction even better. Did all my adds and Monitors toe to toe with that set up, worked well. Boss damage was super and bait n switch HMG. I reckon you could take lumina in the first slot but I used final warning. Done first run and Im an average player at best.
Sleeper does a _lot_ of damage if you can't get its health down quickly enough with other weapons. Apparently Whisper does too but didn't try it yet. Ran into the same bug as well.
The mission dropped at 6pm finally finished it soloed by 9pm took me a while to work out mechanics as there was no guide vids, so died quite a bit but once figured out a straight through run with only one death ( fell off a side ) great fun though pretty tough …
Dang it. Did this last night. I didn't know you had to do the tamper again to get him to come down from that top middle. I ran around for 30 mins and thought something was bugged.
Nice video guide. The first area you said would have tormentor didn't produce one, so that was great if it was glitched for me. Would have gotten it done easy, but I had to leave to work. Wasn't all that bad on regular mode.
One hour video guide, we need at least 3 hours or more to do it , even on prismatic fragments, after months not unlock everything yet, because of many things in game or in life.
Yeah, I quit before unlocking all fragments. They make the game tedious on purpose - you end up running through the same areas / events time & time again with barely a clue to go on. I liked Final Shape overall, but it also had the typical D2 BS game elements. I want a game to be challenging but not tedious and a massive time sink - or requiring me to watch tutorials online to unlock a "fragment" ...
It gave my brother credit fir getting the chest even before he had beat the quest the first time around. After we beat it and he had the quest the box for the chest was already checked just had to beat it on expert
Yeah thank you again bro , soloing rocks , as I think there should be away to solo everything ,just have to swap the mechanics around a little bit, and all would be good..
yeah, got to that final boss bug, then had to quit. didnt realize it was only when he went left I would have wiped and tried again, beacuse now I have to do all again.... bla
This is my 4th try on this mission and when I am at the end of the mission is when I almost beat the the boss and I get a contacting Destiny bs. I am so mad they need to put check points on all missions they have on this game just for the contacting bs.
This is the most easiest to follow guide I have ever seen of this mission released. Don't second thought about watching this video as you will not regret it. Cheers for this fab video Ebontis
Yeah it's been 4 times & bugged every time (edit; ) it took me 7-8 times. I noticed once it tells you what to activate by pulling your ghost & scanning the area, i was able to get past the bug. Died the first time, caught by surprise. Lol but its achievable.
About the bug, I ran into it three times in a row. The last time I went and ate lunch before suiciding, just waited. When I came back the pressure plate was red again. I ran through the phase of activating it again and the boss node returned. I have no idea how long you have to wait for it to cycle but I didn’t have to start the whole fight over again.
I got to the last bit of bosses damage, and the freaking little triangle wouldn’t spawn on it after twice..plus it got hidden in the middle behind all red curtains , lol..
I went solo, and reached the point where I'm versus the boss fight but when I lowered his first health bar right after there was to red walls and the new minotor just dropped a green one and I'm stuck at the second phase where I didn't fide any triangle like the first time to shoot and trigger the fight -_- it is so frustrating
ive just tried yesterday sept 1st for the 1st time just died 9 times, haha, and got bugged the boss on the left side no mini pyramid to shoot, i didnt get to the "firewalls" to get bugged
I cant even get into the first room after you jump across the cavern as its blocked off.. came here for help thinking i needed to do something first... nope..
Done it 3 times now and bugged on all 3. Twice on left and once on the right. Can't see nothing to shoot. It's always in between the two barriers as well😢

Saw this going around twitter but FYI, it seems you'll need to finish the story of Act 1 and 2 and begin Act 3 through the point where the mission is given to you. Can't join someone on this step if you aren't there too and get the exotic.
It fucking has failed on me SEVEN TIMES 😭😭😭 I just can not do enough damage by a hair to bypass the bugged phase, I can't seem to get anyone to lfg with me for it either, I did the entire thing solo, got to the end and it bugged over and over even though I was about ".." that far from the second phase bar first damage phase 😭
I just watched and literally my first damage phase looks exactly like yours no matter what I do and it still bugs every fucking time someone HALP ME PLEASE 😭😭😭
If you bought final shape you should have Episode - ECHOES. You would need to progress through Act 1 and 2 story and then the act 3 story jumps quickly into this mission, but i think you need to be on the proper story week so week 7 of the story to do this mission.

The boss stayed by the wall with no pyramid 2nd damage part and if you leave no check - if so Destiny should just gives you the weapon for the BS

Use the right hand plate only until you have to use the left. Dont even open the left until you have to.

gave up last night after 100 death and couldn't figure out where ever I gave up. will try again tonight.
To not softlock the boss, either do less than 50% damage so the red walls don't come up, or get the full 75% to get to final stand.

Tried this build, worked the second time only because the first time it was bugged and there was no way to the boss 😅
Twice on the left side I had no triangles, so had to start damage phase over😢

I've done this encounter 8 times and every time after the red wall and I go into the other room the boss spawns in the ceiling? Any thoughts on that?
Use RIGHT side first until you are forced to go left plate. My hunch is the left is bugged
