Dave Doll has emphasized that you MUST not leave your guitar strap on your guitar as it will transfer any oils, strains or other material from the strap into your beautiful finish of your guitar! I read it and shrugged it off, and sure enough, I have stained my finish! BELIEVE IT!! John CA
Mr. Doll, Several years ago the owner of a guitar store, someone I trust, told me that putting a strap on the headstock could possibly twist the neck of the guitar and he recommended against it. Though, when I first started playing guitar I don't recall anyone ever even having a strap button. I assume after watching the video that this was an old myth and in fact a strap attached the headstock is perfectly fine and wont bend or twist the neck. [BTW, keep up the Pro Tips, am enjoying them.]

Dave, why doesn't Martin use factory-fitted metal strap pins on the end and heel of all their guitars?
