If we are honest, the Jags were pretty much running the division for most of last year until TL got injured. And personally I wouldnt be suprised if they finish 1st in their division specially how hard the Texans schedule is. One thing is for sure, its gonna be a tjght race
Texans fans would have you believe it is indeed not a tight race and they have their hands firmly on the AFCS division title, and that there is no conceivable way that any other team in the AFC South could win it
Only people that didn't actually watch Jags games last year think Ridley is elite. He constantly ran the wrong routes and dropped some really easy passes. BTJ>>>>>>>Ridley. The Titans did the Jags a favor.
The Jaguars success will depend heavily on if the offensive line can find any consistency and play better than they did last year. They were, imo, the single biggest reason the offense struggled. Part of that was the Cam Robinson suspension. Luke Fortner was THE worst center in football. Walker Little missed 3 games with injury and had to deal with bouncing between guard and tackle. Ezra Cleveland was brought over in a trade and he dealt with injuries which hurt his gelling with the line. This all added up to…. I forget the exact ranking but they were something like PFFs 29th or 30th ranked line. Trevor had one of, if not, the lowest time to throw because the offensive line couldn’t hold up longer than about 2 seconds. Etienne was hit in the backfield more than almost any other RB which contributed to his lower YAC. Tack on Injuries to Zay Jones, early on, and Christian Kirk when the wheels started falling off and, quite frankly, much too high expectations for Calvin Ridley, and it all lead to the WR corps never truly finding its stride. The offensive line just being plain terrible and the injuries across the offense(Trevor, Jones, Kirk, Little) all added up to an offense that lost its way half way through the year and lead to the collapse. The offensive line was not nearly addressed enough, imo, but Mitch Morse should help and a full offseason for Ezra Cleveland and Anton Harrison won’t hurt either
1. Contract doesn't kick in until two years from now. 2. If you look at the yearly cap hit it's not bad until about the last to years, where it'll likely be reworked by then, everyone loves saying its a bad contract but doesn't actually look at it cap-wise. I don't blame you for the take and if it doesn't pan out we will look like the same dumbass jags so it is a gamble there, but it's either that or go back to searching for a qb, and I don't want to see that again as a jags fan, I don't miss Gabbert or Bortles so I'm glad we paid him.
The only hit I think Baalke has had in the 2nd is Tyson Campbell. Brenton Strange was an awful pick. Hopefully Maason is at least a viable starter down the road

I believe the Jags are going to be fine. I mean they were 8-3 before Lawrence got hurt and I think his backup was trash can, CJ Bethard so no rest there 😂. I take issue with the fact that you think that 9-8 is not a bad record. ROFL, it might not be a losing record, but it is a bad record. It's mid A F, no one wants a mid team. Being a mid team is bad.

i will note a lot of people talk about how they started off 8-3, but i find that just as misleading as the dolphins starting off hot. they never really looked great through that stretch, and trevor didn't look like what many (myself included) expected him to be. i think this is a classic example where stats don't tell the full story. much like russ in denver, while the numbers weren't bad, anyone with a television knew he wasn't that good either.
Yeah we were NOT playing well as an 8-3 team...and we were either going to get it right..or it was gonna catch up to us. SF DESTROYED us...then the injuries started and that was that.
It seems, Double-G, that you are saying basically the same thing about the Jags that you said about the Bucs: Good run defense that will cause opponents to throw into a weak secondary. But then you seem to believe that the Jags will go as far as the Divisional Round of the playoffs while also predicting that the Bus are in for "a big letdown." I don't get the disparity in your predicted outcomes for these teams. (Maybe it's the relative strength of their respective divisions?)
@@Unknown17 more of believing in the ceiling of Trevor if he has a great game. Jags are coming off of losing 5 in final 6 where as Bucs are coming off of division title + playoff win so expectations for each team (to me) are different. Hence the let down for TB
Do you actually watch Jaguar games? TLaw isnt our problem. Its our ball catchers. Since hes been in the league his WRs have dropped or have tipped the ball into the hands of the opponents. Calvin dropped nearly 6 TDs last year. The defense kept us in plenty of games last year before injuries. Jags are on the verge of exploding and making a lot of noise next year. Kirk was on pace to have another 1,000 yards before he got hurt. Keep Trevor upright, run the ball effectively and get the man someone that can catch the ball. Go Jags! 🐆
Not to mention TDs dropped by the other receiver's as well. I think I've seen about 8 dropped TDs, though I haven't seen every Jag's drop last season. I even saw like 3 where the reciever had the ball, but they just couldn't get their feet in. Tlaw has a decent amount of TDs left on the board from his receiver's just not...receiving well.
@@snidechart069doesgaming7 my point exactly. Trevor could have had 30 or? more tuggies, and fewer INTs. There's an actual video of all the drops and missed TDs. It's insane to think Ridley could have had 13,14 tuggies
I do feel that there's no reason that the Jags shouldn't be a top ten offense this year. There's plenty of teams in the league that wish that they could have the talent that the Jags have at the skill positions.
If trevor is garabage again .Its time we final shit on him instead of keep on with this rookie treatment he still gets..He has the round 1 first pick privilege where hes middle of the pack and he still gets the will "figure it out" .WHEN .
If I have to be blunt, the only thing holding this team back is ownership. Look, I love Shahid Khan and his "American Dream" story, but his son Tony, I think he is the one that Jaguars fans should be worried about. Granted, I know using AEW as a reference is not exactly a good comparison, but seeing how Khan has "managed" his talents and shows there, and then remembering that Khan is also in charge of football ops, there should be cause for worry. I know people like to scapegoat Baalke, but don't forget who is higher up on the ladder than him. Plus, unlike AEW, the salary cap prevents Khan from throwing money around and building a superteam. Another knock on Khan is he has no idea how to develop talent. Once again, AEW has a stacked roster, but the bulk of them were signed from other promotions, while there has not been any notable homegrown talent coming from the pipeline. My hunch is that this mindset is why guys like Lawrence and Walker have not developed as planned. Honestly, any criticism directed at how AEW is run, I can apply the same thing to the Jaguars. They managed to strike gold with their prospects, but have not consistently built around them. It matters not who is the head coach, GM, or franchise players on this team. Unless Khan agrees to take a step back and delegate to people more knowledgeable than him, this Jaguars team is not going to go far, especially with a resurging AFC South led by the Texans and Colts.
I have zero idea what your beef is against aew but you're putting way too much on Tony Khan. It's not up to him to develop players it's up to the coaches....

Something that I have been thinking about lately is receiving rooms and how even if you have a stud like say the lions have Amon ra, and jamo has potential, but they are missing another outside receiver. Then say the Colts, they have Micheal Pittman and AD Mitchell on the outside, and Josh downs in the slot, even though none of them are on Amon ras level, they have a complete receiver room. Which would you say is more dangerous?

If we are honest, the Jags were pretty much running the division for most of last year until TL got injured.
And personally I wouldnt be suprised if they finish 1st in their division specially how hard the Texans schedule is.
One thing is for sure, its gonna be a tjght race
Exactly. Trevor should not have played hurt
Texans fans would have you believe it is indeed not a tight race and they have their hands firmly on the AFCS division title, and that there is no conceivable way that any other team in the AFC South could win it
@@Jasoncj099 yeah and once we lost kirk, our offense fell off a cliff
it definitely can be. Texans did load up on offense it seems but we could beat them out for the division.
@a6i396 Yeah but with that schedule I don't see Texans Winning 12 games tho
Not mentioning Tyson Campbell means you gotta hate the team.. Small sample size of Monteric Brown at corner but he held his own when called on.
Gabe Davis is the replacement for Zay Jones. The offenses #3 WR
Only people that didn't actually watch Jags games last year think Ridley is elite. He constantly ran the wrong routes and dropped some really easy passes. BTJ>>>>>>>Ridley. The Titans did the Jags a favor.
Ridley only had 7 drops please stop
Btj isn’t close to ridkey
I still don’t have faith in Trevor but prove me wrong lol
Love your videos man, would love to see some Raiders content , feel like that’s the one team you never really talk too much about
Their team preview will come. I like a lot of players on their team but the QB situation scares me. Curious how you feel about the Raiders?
Vid idea: Grading the selections of the 2024 draft class before the season starts
14:06 he’s at the point in his career where that is just who he is
hell yeah lovin the previews FA
I honestly see a 3rd or 4th place finish for Jaguars imo
Fair assessment coming from a jags fan.... I always think the beat possible outcome so you know we winning the superbowl this year😂
They overpaid Lawrence. Their hands are tied.
He’s not worth more than 10 million
Trevor n the jags bout to go off
The only hit I think Baalke has had in the 2nd is Tyson Campbell. Brenton Strange was an awful pick. Hopefully Maason is at least a viable starter down the road
Where 8-3 then t law and the starting guards got hurt. Awful center play last year plus backup guards with a hurt qb who ankle is sprained. Damn I wonder why we feel off at the end of the season I just can't figure it out it's like this position are important. Hopefully we stay healthy this season and show why at one point we where the number 1 seed in the afc.
Offense was horrible before any injured press Taylor single handily destroyed the season
All we gotta do is block well
I hate quietly being good I want everyone to be like damn the jags are rolling people
I believe the Jags are going to be fine. I mean they were 8-3 before Lawrence got hurt and I think his backup was trash can, CJ Bethard so no rest there 😂. I believe in the Prince who was Promised in Trevor Lawrence. Funny how Herbert gets to escape every criticism because of stats but has done considerably less than Lawrence. It's definitely a season to show who he is. I say 9-10 wins and a playoff berth
Herbert to be fair plays in tougher division. Jacksonville couldn't make the playoff when the rest of the division was starting rookie QBs
@@edwardkelly3280 don't do that. Because no they play 17 games, 11 outside of the division and don't make it sound like it's AFC North. The only team they don't have the better team and QB is the Chiefs. Try again. Everyone has to stop giving Herbert this fat pass just because he looks good. He needs to win and stop with all this excuse crap.
The plan was to have Ridley and Gabe Davis was gonna be the wr 2 with Kirk the slot. We got Brian Thomas to replace Ridley not Davis!. And Tyson Campbell is our cb1 and Andre Cisco is our safety besides Antonio Johnson. A 2nd year player. Savage will b nickle corner and in the box. U did a solid job but these are some key points u missed
fun fact josh allen is changing his name to josh “hines-allen” so now thats what hes wearing on the back of his jersey, its bc he wants to represent his family or something idk
10:58 because the jags are trying to force Trevor to win them games. They want Trevor to be Peyton manning and he isn’t
Ahh okay, now I see why you commented that bs, you don’t watch the games😂
But they paid him likes he’s mahomes and manning and Joe and Brady etc.
For the algorithm.

How cane people defend etienne. After the bye week every carry he was running was a bust because of him. He always run up the same pockets, lack of effort, zero aggression and truthfully looked like he was sabotaging our running game. I can understand an argument for the offensive coaches but honest to god every no gain run was his own fault, bro looked like he was scared running the ball.
It's time for the Jags to put up or shut up. Make your move!
NEED giants breakdown
Last season came down to terrible offensive line play and terrible secondary. I dont think they got strong enough to make a deep playoff run
Wrong it was awful play calling
I take issue with the fact that you think that 9-8 is not a bad record. ROFL, it might not be a losing record, but it is a bad record. It's mid A F, no one wants a mid team. Being a mid team is bad.
It feels like you really went out of your way not to name Tyson Campbell (the team's CB1). It was a solid overall breakdown, but that felt really odd to me
Tyson sucked
@@AlexRosner-v8t you mean the guy who was playing lights out through week 8 before suffering two hamstring injuries? Of course he struggled to end the season. Dude played hurt lol. Easily the teams best CB
Bro you forgot Tyson Campbell
He was horrible last year
Forgot about Gabe Davis
Can you do the Green Bay packers pls 😢
I honestly the jags starting the season 5-1
i will note a lot of people talk about how they started off 8-3, but i find that just as misleading as the dolphins starting off hot. they never really looked great through that stretch, and trevor didn't look like what many (myself included) expected him to be. i think this is a classic example where stats don't tell the full story. much like russ in denver, while the numbers weren't bad, anyone with a television knew he wasn't that good either.
Yeah we were NOT playing well as an 8-3 team...and we were either going to get it right..or it was gonna catch up to us. SF DESTROYED us...then the injuries started and that was that.
They signed gabe Davis before Calvin was signed your bias is showing again lol
8-9 book it
They will go 7-10
lol four amazing AFC teams right off the bat. They definitely starting 0-4
What’s sad is i don’t even see them winning a game 5 or 6
jags schedule is favorable. this is a bad take
Trevor is the new Wentz. Gonna get nothing but excuses instead of criticism.
Ridley was honestly a waste of time
It seems, Double-G, that you are saying basically the same thing about the Jags that you said about the Bucs: Good run defense that will cause opponents to throw into a weak secondary.
@@FootballAnalysis1 Yeah, I get it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Thanks!

Preach it good brother
Blake was the same way...😂😂😂
If trevor is garabage again .Its time we final shit on him instead of keep on with this rookie treatment he still gets..He has the round 1 first pick privilege where hes middle of the pack and he still gets the will "figure it out" .WHEN .
Could you talk about the Tennessee titans
