Guys, lets be real ... if there is one thing I've learned about Treliving. He's going to catalogue the range of options available. Does anyone know what's going to happen? No ... and that includes Shanahan, Berube and Treliving. They're going to see what can be done, and what the cost/return is going to be. They'll use that to determine whether they would be better or worse with that change. In other words ALL options are still on the table - so why wouldn't Berube meet with him? Its the smart thing to do when the outcome is still an unknown..

Some how I hope they know that we really appreciate the banter between the 3z the lawn segment was hilarious! I find the best part of this show is just them chatting about non sports related stuff. @@mrzedlytI don't think it's quite as straightforward as "no Marner no playoffs". But it'll be fascinating watching the Leafs try to replace him. Maybe they get a scorer or a top pair D in exchange...but are they gonna get a forward who's out on the first line PK every time, and then jumps back out 30 seconds later to set up an easy Matthews goal with a perfect pass? Marner is being majorly disrespected, because Leafs Nation just *refuses* to even consider the idea that #34 can possibly be to blame for anything.

The Core 4 is playoff bottom 50% material - with zero playoff runs. Even Matthews is a playoff disappointment at centre. Game 2 was his only good game & Domi outplayed Matthews these playoffs.
Did Matthews burn out by trying & failing to score 70 goals this season? Why wouldn’t a new Leaf Coach not want a Leaf Core - that isn’t going to playoff disappoint, 😀
@@jimlangdon1947 I cant argue anything you said but I just dont think in fact I know Brad didn't hire Craig and say in the meeting "we want you tp lead our team in a long playoff run but we are planning trading 1 or 2 of the reasons why you want to come here". @@MegaFletcherb Mitch needs a program 1) to back check to the Leaf net or unless Leafs get possession of the puck, and 2) Mitch learns how to play & thrive with playoff officiating. That is a big ask - but maybe Berube can do it. JT is now a third line centre material. Matthews would best play wing like OV & great snipers - to not waste his energy as a playoff disappointment centre. Mitch also needs - not to play for God Like Treatment in Toronto - but to be more committed as a player like Marchand for his fans & team. 😀

With the brady trade talks in ottawa, the thing that really needs to happen there is he has to lose the "C". need to get an older, more mature voice in the locker room, you can't have the captain of the team having the most important things in his life being playing fortnite and going to clubs. As bad as Tavares contract and play has been for the money, you cannot argue that his a rock for the team. Think of the contrast of Brady going full snap show on the ice, 0 to 1000 in a second and then you have john who doesnt get his heart rate over 100 and has been the same for his entire career. if you take the C from brady the team is instantly better.

Marner is a tough player to move. Probably a nonstarter unless they retain since Marner has to want to go to the team. If he didnt have a NMC then its possible a really bad team could afford him after bonuses are paid out.
They might have to do the best they can til Tavares is off the books
Marner and Tavares are going no where this coming season. Berube's hiring is to light a fire under the team.
You people need to be realistic. Marner and Traverse are not going anywhere. They are selfish and will not waive their no movement clause. Worst case scenario is you let them walk on July1st 2025. You free up over 20 million in cap space. Go out and get a number 1 goalie and defenseman and better supporting cast. Knies and Minton will have another year of experience and Cowan will make the team. Repeat after me - Leafs have no cap space to make the team better for the 2024/25 season. Even if they make the playoffs and get into the second round big deal. They are not making it to the final round. Facts do not lie. Let the talking heads talk as they have to play it up and make a living.

the one thing on the trouba hit that there is change in elevation of the head and player on florida. that arm would hit him in the chest but with the quick change its inevitable. This is why they will ultimately have to remove hitting completely or leave it in the game.

That's the way the Leafs roster is constructed - Marner is one of 4 that's expected, and paid like, he will lead the Leafs to a cup. The only way he wins the cup is if he's traded to a team that can already get the job done - whether Marner is part of it or not. Who cares if that happens, as long as the Leafs are better positioned in the long run without him.
