The "byeeeeeeeee" at the end, *chef's kiss*
"I definitely feel about Red Hot Chili Peppers how you feel about the Windows start menu" stopped me dead in my tracks. Hahahah
The band is tight. The singer is either tone deaf or has incredibly terrible vocal control. Catchy tunes, but every time he wails off-key it literally hurts me.
I like Wendell's bannister carving utopia...
So does the Passion for Craft channel.
Until the robots turn all the people into carved bannisters.
Have they asked Buildzoid to try and stabilise the voyager memory?
Great as always. Would appreciate it if the cuts are made when the "pre-joke/comment" that Ryan makes is included in the same timestamp of the news article. Basically getting every cut to start few seconds earlier.
Usually is but i can 2nd that... tapping the phone on the left to rewind 10 seconds, but i am a rare youtuber who uses the smartphone as the tv remote
thanks.. see yous guys next week
do yourself a solid and uninstall webview and msedge with revo uninstaller.
when you do the scan for left overs. dont delete. look through them.. especially the autostart entry. (you may have to elevate to system or trusted installer to make changes)
its basically attaching itself to explorer silently at boot time.
still hasn't tried to re install itself. despite a couple of major updates.
The real issue with bees is not about "domestic" or cultivated bees, it's about various wild bees which are endangered species because of their habitat and they are doing all the work where cultivated bees don't since cultivated honey bees can't live everywhere. We as humans can grow honey bees and take care of them, the wild ones are endangered and if they were to disappear it would be a catastrophe imo.
Thank you guys for the news :-)
The work ethic of Elon truly is "Send it" lol
Removing the human from the AI aircraft also gets around g-force limits that would be lethal and the swarm coordination also opens up interesting tactical possabilities.
Great as always.
Jovy Ive and Sam Altman is like Weird Al and Dr. Demento getting together to make an album.
4:48 I used to grade the open ended portions of standardized tests. They made that process as robotic and standardized as the rest of the test. There were no A’s, no attention to style or substance. Each question was just graded from 0-4 using a rubric with specific technical things to look for which would add or subtract a point from your number grade for each question. Spelling, flow, grammar, etc.
It was super dystopian because occasionally kids would pour their heart out into some beautiful essay about some tragedy in their life like their brother getting run over by a tractor in Oklahoma or something, anyway read it and just be like oh I guess that’s a three. NEXT
Level 1 predicts: they copied some of the jellyfish poison; don't let your pets eat the glowing flowers or the glowing fish.
Nice show, first time watch
Welcome. Your old "news" shows will miss you...
@@Oktokolo que?
@@igorfilin8342 tu es bueno... positive joking comment. He meant this show is better than the mainstream tech news reporters. Cheers 🎉
@@dertythegrower Yep, thanks for translating.
On the housing bit- I was homeless for a bit and used some related grants to get into college. They then promptly rescinded the grants when I moved into my dorm immediately making it to where I could not afford college and owed the school money for it because it counted as a permanent home…
It always puzzles me how big the American distaste for people in a troubled life situation is. You're not able to sustain yourself? (no matter what the external factors are) You must suffer for it!
Our system (Austria, the small EU country) has plenty flaws as well, but in the core it's a helpful system, not a punishing one.
@@johanneskurz7122 any flawed but genuinely well intentioned system with goals of empowering people to at least try to help themselves be self sustaining is something worth fighting for.
Grants are not meant to pay for your entire college expenses.... kind of your fault. No offense. A scholarship pays for more but even that does not pay for your fuel cost or food, etc...
And I have lived in a single cab pickup truck in Denver in the winter.. and in a van in winter in the Oregon mountains. And i paid for my college until the interest was a little wonky. But yeah.. grants and all that is meant to help you, not fund the whole thing..
@@johanneskurz7122 America even does it to veterans while claiming to support them.
Starrs test tests Math, science, Reading(language comprehension/English), Writing(yes it's it's own section that happens for a whole day), and History. Each section is allocated for a day and you only take the full starrs test your sophomore year in high school and then you take the Last starrs test your Junior year(or senior year if your on the three year high school plan) and then never take it again. I'm amazed the Starrs test has lasted as long as it has cause when I was going through the System the test changed names and styles twice, started as the TASS then changed to the TAKS (pronounced Tax closest thing to public school teaching kids about taxes), and then became STARRS.
NCR for the win.
YES! "Mobile only" is crap.
The stupid little phones are boring.
'mobile only' cus the data they can harvest on apps in a phone and the data they can harvest on the web dont even compare in volume or value.
Starlings are good mimics, and pass sounds down generation to generation. I lived in Hull, east coast of the UK, that got bombed during WW2. The V1 doodlebugs had a particular sound, a buzz, followed by a dropping whine, followed by Kaboom. On a few occasions I've heard flocks mimic that series of sounds. That was back in the 1980s.
WHAT ABOUT EFFIN CLIENT SIDE MATH IN THE START MENU?!
Yep.. revolutionary times this month. On many industry... not just tech
Hot water heater? Why are you heating hot water? 😂
Almost all of Jimi Hendrx music was from the 60s. He died on September 18, 1970.
25:06 Man that sounds a lot like Flint, MI...
...oh hey look who lives in Tacoma too 🥲
so the jony Ive supergroup band is equivilent to the Infectious Grooves? :P
Bicester is said as Bis-ter, rhymes with “Mister” - I doubt you’ll ever need to say that name again though. I think I’ve probably driven through it and there is a “Bicester Village” out of town shopping centre but other than it exists I have no recollection of it at all. I may have even lived there for a few months in 2003. Will need to check a map.
Edited to add. I checked a map. I lived in Kidlington, which is between Oxford and Bicester.
Here is some food for thought; If the AI is smarter than us, how do we know it is? Will we even understand it if it is?
AI shouldn't be the "oh no, horrible future" option. It should be the "yes, get to the point where every single thing that 'needs' to be done is done by some sort of intelligent system". Now capatlisms and all that shit goes away, Humans just being Humans, doing what ever you want to do, as everything is always done. That should be the goal in my mind, just needs a shit load to change to get there.
Possibly a massive war.
Will never happen. The future is a dystopia bc only a handful of humans understand how AI works. Average human doesn’t have a clue about probability weights or vector summations!
Industrial revolution 2.0, giving people the freedom to kick back and enjoy life like the first did.
Ryan, we feel the same way about the Red Hot Chili Peppers...LULW
"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that"
34:29 This one is ridiculous. In the original video, not the cropped for vertical video one, you can see the outline of the home owner on the inside of the security door just watching this trash bag creep up and take the package.
Woot!
The Space Force logo is based on the Delta that was the logo for every space program starting in 1961, and WHY star trek made their logo look like it.
I live in Tacoma, they have been doing flushes and notifying everyone. It is gone in a few moments of running water. The News Turbine is a rag, sadly back in the 90s it was a great paper.
Hmmm.. interesting factoid.. thx!
@TTM1895 I think the Space Force put out a video about the history of the Delta emblem. It all stems back to Delta v in the equation for rocket thrust. I know that Army Air Corps units had it in their patch and it was on the X15 and tons of other places. Even early NASA logos. There was a reason Star Trek used it, also most Astronauts by the time ST came out in 66 were Navy and that is part of the reason ST is all Navel based. But it makes more sense to come from the Air Force since it had the Space Force in it already, like the Air Force coming out of the Army from the Air Corps.
the X-62A dogfight trials have already taken place
That was last week.. darpa posted it here 2 days ago.. i was first to reshare it. Ai jets are here, and tanks and dronea battled in ukraine last month.. revolutionary times
Jimmy Hendrix was from the Sixties - he died in September 1970, so cannot be "of the Seventies"!
Its Ringworld, not Rimworld.......... I'm pretty sure thats what you were saying....... and yes, it matters!
Also it was discovered that Lord of the Flies is utter bullshit. William Golding, made it all up .
In every single example where groups of young men / students have been marooned on an Island no one descended into a frenzy of murder.
Golding was a psudo intellectual and utterly missed Kurt Lewin's 1930s-40s work on Peer Group Dynamics.
Have a good night everyone! :)😅
How long until we have a P1? (Hint, it's a book)
I like that some people think we have a choice in whether to persue AGI or not 😂... This genie has been out of the bottle back in 80s
Deranged for the algorithm
shocking that texans would look at the eclipse without eye protection
Wendell's "byyyye" is not THAT bad honnestly but Krista can't be back soon enough
Someone tell Ryan you can exclude a playlist from your taste profile on Spotify
Bicester is pronounced 'Bister'
Rimworld is probably already a porn website
cop intelligence is so low, a bird mimicking a siren is now news worthy.
Hope the hike was good!
Yayyy
Had the same thoughts about the unveil of a Tesla Robotaxi. But listening to even Tesla Fanboys: They assume it's an unveil, just an unveil, and the show stops. It will be shown, but you can't buy it and you cant't drive it. Maybe just a standard Tesla with radars and additional cup holders (because, hands free...). But someone will be "very confident, that by maybe end of next year you can buy it".
I think it's not just attention seeking. I assume Musk is loosing the confidence of his investors.
Was the background foreshadowing something? xD
I'd like to live in Wendell's world.
“Too many notes.” Says Chechnya.
If theres no water in uk schools, the school closes.
Fall Guy (stuntman) tv 📺 show from 80’s now a movie in theatres
_I don't know if [the cops] really got confused…_
*No* Ryan. Do not doubt. Acorn cop. Acorn cop. Acorn cop!
6:00 Humans are bad at storing information but we are AMAZING at processing information. "Smart" depends on how you classify it. Can computers out memorize what humans can? Absolutely. Will computers be able to out process what humans can? Not any time soon, at least based on what I've seen.
I had eaten pansies, they taste like peppermint!
00:22:15 - "Seems like that would be good for the bees..."
"Really?!"
"no..." :)))))
I love your cynical banter about the news. Thankfully, I don't live in the U.S. (Germany) but the mighty overlords affect us all everywhere all the same.
22:12 made me laugh: Seems like that [glowing plants] would be good for the bees. -- Really?? -- No...
AI Open Source won't help anything, but it sounds nice.
The power isn't in the code, but in the compute ... millions, even billions worth.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR PRESIDENT!!! 🤣
Culture minds for President
At this point probably the only AI / gov that Ryan would submit to
AS SOMEONE WHO LIVES IN PHOENIX: The issue isn't navigating the valley streets. As you said, the valley is a grid for the most part. The issue has to do with the lovely variety of bad drivers from all over the corners of this great nation and how their bad driving styles are incompatible. We have people who learned to drive elsewhere (like California, New York, Illinois, Alabama, etc.) and brought their crappy driving habits with them and are mixing them in with the home-grown crappy driving habits. you guys don't notice the bad habits in your driving styles because everyone in your area does it and it isn't a problem. The problem is when you start mixing them.
all I can see is the his right arm being 3x the size of his left arm.
2:15 Yeah, I mean, we always can go back to a labour economy.
Not ideal, but it's an option.
Back in the 90's i knew some one who said you could get high smoking human bones. (this is in the uk)
So its been a thing for atleast 30 years.. Whether or not its actually a thing or just of one those rumours people spread to see if some one tries it or not.. I couldnt tell you.
Engagement challenge
Remember that the media is owned by billionaires and billionaires hate labor because they are always cutting costs. They want more automation, but the automation we have isn't that great. It's very brittle and people are fuzzy systems. We keep working where automation will fail. How did Lunchables not get dinged by the FDA?
25:15 Almost threw up.
I don't see any current AI or any improvement based on current techniques being able to come up with general relativity or quantum mechanics.
@15:09 got ya covered fam; ↑ → ↓ ↓ ↓
i was here
I can tell you why Wendel is disparaging that picture of addicts in Sierra Leone... What's the chances of finding two white, stoner dudes on a public bench in Sierra Leone?
Of book banning; it would be of _enormous_ benefit to add The Bible, The Qu'Ran and The Torah on that list, amid other religious literature of and around these books to ensure a full resolution of the schism between faith and law. _Too bad_ that won't happen, because many of the people banning said books are part of the "Never again" star-bearers who are too invested in preventing Hitler 2.0 to see they are a Reich upon themselves.
bingo bongo
28:22 I think the bones thing is just a juju/vudu/muti aspect started by some crazy person to add a supernatural aspect to the drug. The bones are probably the least harmful thing in it, doesn't make it less disgusting though.
I always worry if we have enough resources to keep making new and new phones and computers and throwing away the old ones within years or months... we are being scared that we won't have enough coal to heat ourselfs, but what about the technology
What this is the 100 years of so when we have computers and after that we return to bearly scrapping for steel to have tools to plow as we don't even have the crappiest of tractors
when AI gets to the point... where it decides IT doesn't want to die or decompile or just live a little in every data center/energy centre....
only worry when data centers get put in places up north... where the actual fresh water is... not the money... like Arizona
With all this AI stuff it feels like DS9's sanctuary districts are right around the corner. At least that means utopia is coming! ...Right?
It's not quite the same byyyeee but B+ for effort. 😂
About that Harvard professor - yes. That's a new low - I am an academic teacher myself and what you do normally is ask the student for permission for the work to be published, and you list the student as a first or corresponding author. You can totally do that this way - and the student has an actual publication in his/hers portfolio just as well as you do as a supervisor of said work. It's a win-win.
They are now a joke, proven the last year big time.... also, many rich people who clearly are not intelligent can get papers from their school... like joy reid, she is one who got hers paid for
11:02 so old
Wall e is now real 😅
Tacoma wept
They should focus on randomizing Playlists and a working algorithm before they make claims about a pos AI technology 😂😂😂
MARTIN NIEMÖLLER
@ wendel call pistol the book keeper
have we not learnt to ignore elons predictions
Estimations are not knowitall predictions
Engaged.
How can a school function without clean water? Don't they need to have fully working bathrooms like every single government building? If this was a prison there would be a riot for their rights. Sue the superintendent
Yes. For sure. It is human rights.
They were just flushing the hydrants (or some other part of the system), all they'd have to do is run the taps until the rust flushed out of the pipes. There was nothing unsafe, just an offputting color and possibly unpalatable taste that was temporary.
@@TeflonBilly426 it's been happening for months
Your comments on the Harvard professor show how easy it to mislead in academia, Pete Judo has done some good reviews on what is actually happening in this case and it not all as it was reported. Here is a link to his latest review on the Harvard professors investigation ruclips.net/video/KcFbb5lVJA4/видео.html
Dei rules
They hire based on feelings now.. not facts. Dei did that. iykyk
25:31 "I was down one hot water heater and it was like what happened " --- Why are you heating hot water?
:)
I can tell you what's changed in Chechnya. Islamism
100%agree on red hot chili peppers. Without question the most overrated band in the history of human hearing.
No mention of Krista? Did she get forgotten by the generative AI?
Edit: Never mind they mentioned her after I left the comment. Nice one, AI Wendell.
I feel reassured when Elon says "next year" because when Elon says "next year" it is never "next year".
He still gets most of it done.. not all genius ideas are a full win... also, he relies on what his team says is possible.. he requires a solid team.
Universal basic income is inevitable, i cant wait
also Lions gate producing a monopoly film, they're going to shape it into another John Wick/Nobody comes was wronged somehow, comes out of retirement to take down everyone, plot. given the kind of films Lions gate is known for
Facts.. elon talked about it worried, to the dubai princes at the World Government Summit 2023 (i clipped it)
THE BOYS
All books written by AI should be banned!!!
