What i love about SMs vocal line is that they have their own distinct tone. You would know who is singing even if your eyes are closed... And when they harmonize its the best.
Exactly unlike many group that i cant emphasized/ revognize each member Vocal tone cause they sound similar 😂

@lainelaine8533 Thank you! I’ve been saying that for a while. As much as I love some of the 4th gen boy groups, telling their voices apart has been a real problem for me. Like you, I often put it this way: If I close my eyes, it could be anyone.
This is definitely one aspect that draws me in to SM groups.
To think that Super Junior, EXO, SNSD and (especially) NCT who have a bunch of members but SM still manage to put such different tones into one group is truly a great job. And added that they can still harmonize so beautifuly with those voices 😊.
Exactly! plus people would think, the song was simply recorded in autotune or what esp., the new song releases but SM records and produces their songs meticulously. If one checks in their recording, they don't do autotune but do a lot of vocal layering/harmonizations! :) I know the company has been chaotic but full support for SM fam, artists!!

The thing about SM group is that not only each member can sing but also they know how to harmonize. Every time new group debuts from SM, I always find interesting about how their harmony already sound like they’ve been in the industry for 3+ years. I know they’re trained and instructed that way, but it’s still amazing to hear them doing it so effortlessly.

There's no way a single person can recreate 5 vocal layers + effects they did on the studio. Ofc they need backtrack here and there or it's not gonna sound like the same song. Logic??

I think SM decides on centers by dancing ability, stage presence, and visuals alone. But yeah, Wonbin having great vocals is an extra that’s really great to have and showcases his being an ace.

From SM we had EXO Chen, aespa & RIIZE in one take or nothing. The rest who did are mostly solo singers like jihyo/So In Guk, etc. You can find out in It's Live's playlist
It seems like someone misunderstood my comment, I was discussing idol groups from SM, so it's true that it was just AESPA and now it's followed by RIIZE... As for Chen, according to me, he's promoting as a solo singer, so I didn't mention Chen... outside of the SM idol group, the first one who did "ONE take or Nothing" was Dreamcatcher, that's true, but he's not an idol group from SM, so I didn't mention him... please see the "ONE take or Nothing" playlist, there are even singers from other idol groups like Chen (EXO) , Jihyo (Twice), Jinyoung (GOT7) but they promote as solo singers and sing solo songs, so they cannot be categorized as idol groups 👌🏻
