I just lost my father tonight and my daughter sent me a link to this video. My relationship was one of turmoil and love and pain and laughter. But now that he is gone, all I have left is the love and the laughter. Everything else just gets washed away now. I will miss you, Daddy!
There is this video of night my parents took me home from the hospital as a baby and my dad is dancing around the house to this song with me in his arms... This will always be my favorite song
I don't cry, but I do choke up when I do watch this. You clearly can see that Lindsey and Stevie still love each other, it just wasn't meant to be. Such a powerful song.
This version is my favorite. Stevie's voice sounds so much better, so much more mature than it did on the white album. She is a miracle of a woman and you can really hear it on this track. Probably my favourite song ever.
***** She DID live harder than most people her age did. She and Lindsey Buckingham were almost broke when they joined Mick and John. They actually gave them each $200 to live on for the week.
I agree ~ This song always makes me think of my childhood, and of all the family members that have passed away, and of how I try to reflect on memories of them ~
Is there any doubt that "The Dance" was Fleetwood Mac's greatest live performance of their careers? Every song they did was pure perfection....I challenge anyone to find a band who are equally good at what they do individually as they are when they are together. Just amazing....
The love between Stevie and Lindsey is still there, even if this was 17 years ago...you can feel the love deep down in the way Stevie sings and Lindsey's guitar playing. It's so wonderful to still see these two together.
Lindsy Buckingham is a complete Rock Star. He is playing 2 tunes at the same time and watching Stevie the whole time. You can see how much he still loved Stevie when he watches her sing. I hope they never stop playing together.
The tipping point is when I realized that in the end we are only embers in the flame of life..all the stuff, it doesn't matter.. you are remembered by the people whose lives we touched...life itself is fleeting..enjoy everyday to the fullest..
Such a beautiful song, and you can see there's still so much tenderness between her and Lindsey, even after all the turbulence that came into their lives. I only hope my daddy will be able to dance with me to this song at my wedding.
I lost my mom to cancer when I was 9, all she left behind were memories and the music she loved. She was a big fan of Fleetwood Mac and an even bigger fan of Stevie Nicks, and now I love them and her too. This song always makes me cry. So many memories behind one song. Thank you for posting this!
im a young man of 24 and my dad took his life 8 years ago when i was 15 years old, and he loved stevie nicks so, every time i hear her voice it brings me right back to those days i was sitting in the car with him. miss you pop!
This is the song that i chose for my sister - brother dance since my father passed away when i was 13 due to cancer. My mom and I thought "There is no other song to dance to!" I love and miss you daddy!!!! For ever in our hearts!!
For any FM fan, you must watch this video!!! Anyone can relate to it & the interchange between Stevie & Lindsey in the end is soooooooooooo touching! :)
What magic these two have,as part of perhaps the greatest group of pure musical artists ever. The sweet voice of Stevie, matched with the great guitar of Lindsey. And when they perform together,it's pure magic. You can see the tears on Lindsey's face. That's how precious these two are to each other. That's the magic of Fleetwood Mac.
I love you Stevie Nicks. I grew up with you & your songs. You never go out of style. When they use the word COOL I thing of you!! You are the word cool & REAL. You only get better & I have seen you in concert more than any one or group. I was never disappointed. Those memories will always sustain me. You may not read this, but I wanted to say it out loud.
This song, wow...Thinking of my daughters when they were young sitting in a beachside cafe and hearing this song in the background. No matter where I am when I hear it I always go back to that memory. Brings happy tears.
i'm a 22 year old black dude and this is my s### lol my art teacher used to play this in high school when i was creating masterpieces. Usually i listen to hip&hop and r&b but this song has meaning #classic
With respect to the wife and family of lindsey, I think, stevie and lindsey are to each other, they really were born to be together, just that sometimes life ends up very strange. This wonderful and beautiful song was written by Stevie when formed a duo with Lidnsey, originally going to be part of the album "Buckingham Nicks" (1973), but ended up being included in the "Fleetwood Mac" album (1975), the first work of couple as part of the band ".. Well, I've been afraid of changing 'cause I built my life around you But time makes you bolder Children get older I'm getting older too ... "
I remember hearing this song when I was a kid. My mom used to take me to this grocery store, where we would buy these jello pudding treats, and then head back to our apartment and enjoy just hanging out together, watching t.v, coloring......life was so simple. We had so little, and as I look back, those were some of the happiest times of my life. I've been VERY blessed since then, in many different ways, but things got complicated. This song makes me think back to a time when things were simple.
Always know that he loved you within his ability . . .I feel same way with my mother . . .aren't we blessed to have our children to remind us of them? I see my mother in his smile and I am sure that you see something in your daughter that reminds you of him . . .
This song is quoted very high in my Top-2 of best songs of all times. What a haunting song and what a haunting performance of both Nicks and Buckingham
I remember this song from back in 96, father used to listen to this all day, unfortunatly he died that year fell victim of a gunfight, police told us this song was still playing when they found him.rip Tupac.
I am fortunate enough to have seen them in 1979 and then again in 1997. Fleetwood Mac has been the soundtrack of my life... the good and the bad times, and count myself blessed to have enjoyed their wonderful contributions to music through the years. Stevie has always been the best!
Stevie and Lindsey...just seeing these two perform together brings back memories of Fleetwood Mac when I was growing up...I would love to shake Lindsey's hand and give Stevie a big hug for all the great music...I'd shake the stable hands of Mick and John...and I'd even hug Christine...that's how much I love Fleetwood Mac.
I was young then too. I was able to see Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac) in concert 3 times & all were Amazing. Now Priceless & Timeless. Good to see them praised so highly once again. I Love them still...Thanks for this upload. I hadn't seen this particular one before. Playlist it for sure.
My daughter is 19, and I have the most precious video of her singing landslide in the tub when she was only four. She had no idea I was taping. Such a beautiful song and memory...
The incomparable Stevie Nicks. There will never be anyone like her. The Great Grand Dam of Roll n Roll... THANK YOU, STEVIE. Much Love Always, one of many life long fans. Many Blessings to You and Yours.
sitting here on fathers day with my family wife and 2 boys and no other place I would rather be than with them and listening to my favorite band in this universe fm and buckingham &nicks, went and saw lindseys for 2 shows a couple weeks ago and now its stevies turn in a couple weeksfor 2 shows.thank you both for doing what u do and being a big part of my life!!!
I wrote it (Landslide) for Lindsey - for him, about him. It's dear to both of us because it's about us. We're out there singing about our lives. ~Stevie Nicks Q Magazine, January 2004 ~Amazing~
Straight from the "bottom of my bottom" this is "both" for Mama Mia & Dad... For you both taught me all I will ever be in this Life and for that, I am ETERNALLY GRATEFUL... Stevie, I can't hear this heaven sent song without feelin' the stabbing pains of hurt that come from a Life well lived... For You, as well, I am just as eternally grateful... Peace & Love to all~
Me too, Jan 25th of this year and unless you go through it it's difficult for others to understand; those that have lost a child or a loved one before their time can also understand, but to lose your soulmate, the one that you expected to enter eternity with changes everything. Music, including this song, is one of the only comforts; my prayers go out to you.
if you see my reflection? in the snow covered hill, maybe the landslide will bring it down.I love those words,Stevie Nicks was always my fav.and still is....thanks for sharing.
The Beautiful Ones....still! Stevie and Lindsay...oh the tears! Who (in my generation) hasn't had a great love that didn't last but turned into something else that stood the tests of time? Kudos to Stevie and Lindsay!
i can imagine this, a great song for a funeral, espacially for your mom, i am always crying when i hear this song, espacilly this version, its so intensiv and i understand people to choose this for a funeral
This is one of my favorite songs. On unfortunate or melancholy days, I think it's a sad song. About growing up, past regrets, and longing for youth. But on brighter days, it's a song of courage- a reminder that strength comes with age, and that reflecting on the past only makes you stronger, too. I'm not all too sure what it's really supposed to be about. But I like it because of what it means to me, how it can be a theme song to any many types of times in my life.
I just lost my father tonight and my daughter sent me a link to this video. My relationship was one of turmoil and love and pain and laughter. But now that he is gone, all I have left is the love and the laughter. Everything else just gets washed away now. I will miss you, Daddy!
These two have loved each other for decades..how can you NOT watch this video and see the love?
Wow. Brings a tear to my eye. Late at night after a few beers, you know.
Damn allergies
LMAO!
I know, dude! We know exactly what you mean!
I know what you mean This is one of the only songs that can make a man do that. you will be OK
Yep. So true mate.
There is this video of night my parents took me home from the hospital as a baby and my dad is dancing around the house to this song with me in his arms... This will always be my favorite song
When Stevie gives Lindsey a hug :')
So sweet. They have such a connection.
It was like her saying “Thank you for playing it so beautifully”
I don't cry, but I do choke up when I do watch this. You clearly can see that Lindsey and Stevie still love each other, it just wasn't meant to be. Such a powerful song.
This version is my favorite. Stevie's voice sounds so much better, so much more mature than it did on the white album. She is a miracle of a woman and you can really hear it on this track. Probably my favourite song ever.
Not comparing it just does sound like Miley Cyrus. An auto tuned Miley
@@mikerinaldi4778 or she sounds like Stevie instead of the other way around.
@@leftyshredder9289yes--Stevie came first and nobody sounds like her
I think to understand this song you need to have a fair slice of life experience.
Maybe. But she was 27 when she wrote this song.
*****
She DID live harder than most people her age did. She and Lindsey Buckingham were almost broke when they joined Mick and John. They actually gave them each $200 to live on for the week.
Yep.
I agree ~ This song always makes me think of my childhood, and of all the family members that have passed away, and of how I try to reflect on memories of them ~
Mr. Monk, Your comment is spot on. .
I could only imagine the emotions that had to be going through both Stevie and Lindsey during this song after all that they have been through.
Is there any doubt that "The Dance" was Fleetwood Mac's greatest live performance of their careers? Every song they did was pure perfection....I challenge anyone to find a band who are equally good at what they do individually as they are when they are together. Just amazing....

I'm sure Stevie has performed this song millions of times but this is my favorite version. It's majestic - this night she delivered it almost heavenly
Watching Stevie and Lindsey interact here makes me well up every time-such real emotion.
This recording is even better than on the album! Not many artists can say that these days.
Time makes you bolder and even children get older. Im getting older too..what a thought provoking line...one of the best
The kiss at the end, the looks they gave eachother during it... They loved eachothers talents. Stevie sang this perfectly. 😍
This interaction between the two of them at the end of the song is priceless....such a long time coming !!!
It's amazing the beauty that can be wrought from a single guitar and a single voice. Amazing performance.
This voice will never be topped, never imitated.. it is one of a kind.. and everlasting………...
Such a painfully beautiful song. Truly a timeless piece of art!
Best performance of this song ever
Such a beautiful song, and you can see there's still so much tenderness between her and Lindsey, even after all the turbulence that came into their lives. I only hope my daddy will be able to dance with me to this song at my wedding.
This song, the lyrics, the guitar, Stevie's vocals, make me cry everytime I listen to it. Pure perfection.
This is such a beautiful song, and it always gives me a lump in my throat hearing Stevie at her best ...emotional , touching and heart felt ...

Stevie's voice, and this rendition of "Landslide" is the best. But let's not forget about Lindsey. That dude can play the guitar.
This is the song that i chose for my sister - brother dance since my father passed away when i was 13 due to cancer. My mom and I thought "There is no other song to dance to!" I love and miss you daddy!!!! For ever in our hearts!!
One guitar, one voice, yet timelessly beautiful.
This is one of the most truest songs ever written thank you Stevie and Lindsey for being so resilient
one of the best songs written in my opinion, it really works.
For any FM fan, you must watch this video!!! Anyone can relate to it & the interchange between Stevie & Lindsey in the end is soooooooooooo touching! :)

God god LB is da MAN on guitar, and has been criminally overlooked for his talents for WAY too long!
Got to see them in Indy in 1997, best concert I have ever been to and I have been to more than i could count.
I lost my father to cancer many years ago but i,m still sttin hear with tears in my eyes after listening to that song.
