If there are only 26 inhabited planets in Universe 7 then who the hell was Frieza selling planets to?

The Joker one idea is the universe went into a star wars style civil war. In the resurrection f arc, it was stated once frieza was defeated that all the planets started to rebel.
The Joker could be an inconsistency(Tori forgetting or not thinking about it). Or the result of freeza bombing planets for decades, and willing our civilizations to sell those planets.
If it wasn't for homes but for resources, then you wouldn't need that many. It would be less like the land shark and more like environmental destruction at galactic and multi galactic level.
Maybe there were 100 or 1000 civilizations. I can imagine freeza and his father wiping out that many. Or freeza's clan depending how far back it all goes.

The gods have never been of use in db and dbz. Look at them...The *only* good ones are King Enma and Dende.
Kami - Though very wise, still didn't have the common sense to stop Piccolo himself, considering he was stronger.

I actually have an idea for how we can progress beyond the Omni-King: He's not the Omni-King at all. There IS no Omni-King. He's just a child playing with universes which were created to be his playthings by a much older and far more powerful race.
We never really see anyone else who looks like Zeno, and he himself is a child. So perhaps the "Adults" of his race exist on a higher plane of existence and are capable of toying around with the fabric of reality.
So they created a few universal "toy rooms" to keep their kids occupied while they did whatever it is that they do. In this "toy room", Zeno plays out his fantasy of being the king of everything, with sentient beings acting as some sort of existential action figures, when in fact he is simply a "powerless" child. The only power he displays is destruction, like a child breaking his toys. It's all he knows how to do at his current stage of development.
Everything we know about the Dragonball universe is simply amusement for more powerful beings, and Goku, Vegeta, the Gods of Destruction, etc, are weaker than the weakest children of that race.
S.A.M. That's basically Gnosticism. Zeno is the Demiurge, the false creator who pretends to be the Omni-King. He is below the power of the true God.
I want to propose my own theory about Zenoh's origin. What if, in the beginning, Zenoh was actually a smart being (also tall and muscular and stuff) that started to build the universes, but then found out, after making all twelve, it was going to be a pain to manage them. So then he started to create the Grand Priest, the Shin Kais and the rest to help them. But their creation consumed a larger amount of his power, each one he made made him weaker and dumber, until he stayed how he is now.
There was 18 Universes originally and he destroyed 6

Thanks! Oh right! I forgot about the other universes, maybe he destroyed them before creating the angels, but already knew about the universes, but what if Zenoh told them after he created them. Because where are those universes' angels? So many questions, it would be cool if this turned out to be true.

If the angels don't die when a universe is erased, they should have 6 aimless angels around right? Otherwise he had to have made them after having to destroy 6 universes.
thats the best theory.. and it actually gives depth and meaning to the show... its just irritating that the current dragonball theme seems to promote stupid strong characters... and that goku has never matured despite everything that happened in his life

He was that guy who was fighting to get water for his village during a tournament in Dragon Ball. He had the cross-arm dive that would cause people to be unconscious for 10 days.
I feel like this was more of an analysis on Zeno and the Daishinkan than it was about "Why the Universes are being destroyed"... but really the only reason we can say the Universes are being destroyed is becauase of the exact reason they gave us... the Supereme Kais and Hakaishin weren't doing there job adequately so as punishment Zeno was going to erase all of the ones that the Daishinkan presumed having a "low mortal level".
What i find interesting about this whole thing was that it makes theZamasu arc was literally pointless... If Zeno was just going to destroy Universe 7 to begin with Zamasu trying to take over the whole Universe and kill the Supreme Kais and Hakaishins wouldn't have made much difference since Zeno was going to destroy them all anyway... if anything he made Zenos job even easier

Eric Puhala The mortal level of each Universe is most likely an ongoing thing that would get updated every so often. Also the fact that when they check on the Universe and see that there is literally no mortals living there and the lack of a Hakaishin and Supreme Kai would give a pretty clear indication that the Supreme Kai and Hakaishin were doing a bad job at taking care of their respective Universe... which coincidentally is a factor that leads to a Universe having a poor mortal level
Then what was he doing for all those years in the future? Goku was a big influence for the Universal erasure plan to comence. Also Merged Zamasu I belive could surapass him. (eventually)

America Eagle Sure goku was what instigated the erasure of the Future Universe 7 but in the present time when the Daishinkan was explaining everything for the Tournament of Power he was saying that Zeno had planned to erase all of the Universes with a low mortal level to begin with... the Tournament is just a chance for them to fight and be one of the ones that doesnt get erased... Meaning Zeno most likely would have erased Future Universe 7 at some point anyway with Goku's influence or not. I doubt Merged Zamasu would surpass Zeno... remember Zeno doesnt fight, he just erases things basically

I think the Omni King's are the viewers, the Grand Priest and the Angels are the network heads, and we're literally watching shows getting canceled. They had to remove all but 5 universes/shows because they didn't have "the budget".
So, yeah. Sonic X just got canceled. Power Rangers is looking like it has a good chance to hang on, but looks like Transformers is falling out of Vogue.
Consequently, this metaphor seems to be supported by the fact that Beerus and the Mouse God of Destruction are apparently Tom and Jerry and that cartoon is currently popular in Japan.

I thought the same thing......Its social satire on the nature of commercialism, mass media, and entertainment....Universes being annihilated is the same as anime shows or game shows or sitcoms being canceled by the networks, in response to ratings, which are the "dumb" "naive" T.V. viewing audiences who get easily bored......there's no "good" nor "evil"....its just the order of things as far as the entertainment industry is concerned.....The "God theme" in Dragonball Super is just a vector or metaphor for this kind of real-life system.....

Because he is a young version of The King. See, the end of the Tournament of Power results in a huge mess, meaning that Dragon Ball Super is the prequel to Katamary Damacy.
Goku's Universe will be up for destruction. Then before one can press the erase button the two Zeno's will have a disagreement and cancel each other out. :D
Something i don't think anyone thinks about when looking at this. The real question. Why so much character development outside of universe 7 group?
Kale and Caulifa. Cappa. Toppo and the pride troopers. Hit. And yes I know most people mention are actually universe 6. But it also looks like we are actually getting into the meat of the competition with all the weaklings picked off. Adding in more character development for the stronger fighters.
I think that the omniking is being manipulated by the Grand Priest, but the Grand Priest doesn't actually want to destroy these universes, or better yet these worlds. I think the Grand Priest is plotting a coup and will use the fallen universes toughest fighters to do so.
Unfortunately Goku's lot puts a issue in his plans by wishing the main worlds from the other universes into universe 7 increasing its world power tremendously. Goku does this for fighting purposes, but story wise this is to compete with the other 4. The other 4 universes are the Grand Priest's allies in this coup.

reminder that its bullshit how the deletion is anytime soon or if it'll happen, as trunk's timeline showed that zeno never did anything even after all the GoDs were gone and presumably the angels were inactive. not to mention zamasu and gowasu went to the future of a planet for several years which shouldnt be possible if zeno planned to delete them.
and the biggest diversion is that in the current timeline, goku met with zeno as well as implanted the idea of a tournament. so if we have someone to point fingers at, it really is goku.
even if we go with the theory that grand priest planned something like this for a reason, its a fact that it never happened in the other timelines in the future like zamasu and trunks. so its likely that zeno either forgets it or zeno denies the suggestion... until goku proposes the idea of fighting with all the other universes.
you can also see it that grand priest uses that tournament as a way to push his idea of deleting the other universes because they are "terrible" if they lose.
at the very least universe 10 will survive

This was before the Main and Goku Black's timeline split; (Future Main Timeline)Goku never reminded Zeno about the tournament because he was killed by Zamasu in the future, a.k.a Goku Black.

Honestly...? If we go along with the theory that the Omni King's are allegories for us, the audience, and the Grand Priest being Toriyama himself, then everything starts to make a lot more sense. We, the audience, are the true masters of the dragonball verse, and could destroy it at any time if we lost interest in it. Likewise, the Grand Priest, Toriyama, actually governs said universe, and strives to keep the Universes entertaining enough for us to allow it to survive.
Likewise, Xeno is: Adorable, impulsive, lovable, a huge fan of Goku, in love with fighting, and childish, all terms Toriyama has used to describe us, his fanbase.

Not Universe 7. In Universe 7, Shin is one of those 10 beings. That makes it 9 competent beings.

Ever notice how each universe seems to represent a sub genre of action anime?
You have Universes 6 and 7 as clear cut shonen action.
Universe 9 as the "Okami-esque" furry universe
Universe 2 as the "Sailor Moon-esque" Magical girl universe.
Universe 3 as the "mecha anime" robot universe.
Universe 4 stands out a bit, however their 2 "Invisible" fighters as well as their reliance on trickery and senses lead me to believe it's going to be an homage to ninja anime later on.
Universe 11 is clearly "Power Rangers-esque" super sentai.
And they're all fighting to the death for the entertainment of a child God.
I think they're going for something meta here.
Being Cancelled.
The Star Wars galaxy would certainly be spared by the Zen-Ohs, because its mortal level would actually be very high. From having numerous technological advancements, to having thousands of civilizations in a single galaxy represented by the Galactic Senate, to having millennia of prosperity under the Galactic Republic, the Grand Priest and the two Omni-Kings would probably hold the Star Wars galaxy as an ideal galaxy for other universes to follow. Especially when the Jedi have many powers that can shut down a Super-Saiyan, but unlike said SSJs, they don't (or can't) go around blowing up planets like crazy assholes.

Ok so what if the omni king is controlled by the toei bot which always gets told by his editors his ideas are bad so he tells the omni king and he destroy the other universe's but no one else knows why he did it because he can't tell anyone

I'm pretty sure that the end of this arc would be like this:
Goku's team wins, all the universes are erased except for universe 7, Goku eventually convinces the omni king to use the super dragon balls to revive the vanished universes so that Goku he can continue fighting with strong opponents in other worlds.
Thus, everything goes back to the status quo after the tournament ends, like nothing happened.
if that's the case, then the story arc's conclusion will come off as painfully predictable.

Dylan Tulgetske Like in the Xenoverse games with the supreme kai of time.... doesn't the bad guy (the woman with blue skin and white hair) kind of resemble the angles? Maybe she'll be revealed as the Grand Priest's baby momma who got erased and that the GP wants to reunite the family by overthrowing Zeno and using his power against him to bring her back and erase Zeno so that there can never be another being with absolute power in existence. Or... she could be an angel from a previously erased universe who sided with her mortals and got herself erased and she gets revived because the wish at the end of the universe survival ark was worded incorrectly and all the erased universes get brought back.

This video helped me come up with an idea that maybe supports the "evil" grand priest theory, you helped me realize that it is the GP that does everything, maybe he's fed up with having to take care of the Omni king and doing everything for him so he could be using the tournament as a distraction for the Omni king so he can overthrow him and actually become the king of everything instead of his "lap dog" also I think it might have been his idea to have Zeno destroy the universes because if he's going to overthrow Zeno he's going to need help from his children and they can't leave their jobs as the G.O.D. attendees but if there is nobody to attend to they can help the GP
2:30 - Don't forget Zen-Oh's potential father and the actual creator of the Dragon Ball Multiverse (or his antithesis). While Zen-Oh is "king", he seems too young and like a child to be capable of making a Multiverse on his own.
How come no one ever mentions Supreme Kais others? Like West, North, South and Grand Supreme Kais? Was that filler and I missed it?

I really felt like they did "King of everything" specifically so that "God of everything" would be available if they ever wanted to do that
There's one detail I've been finding kind of odd.
This is a tournament where the losing teams get their universe and pretty much everyone from it get completely annihilated from existence.
Yet one of the rules for the participants is that they aren't allowed to kill each other.
I don't know, something about this I just find jarring. If you lose, your entire universe will be destroyed along you with it but, don't worry, you don't have to worry about getting killed beforehand. Not to mention all the other restrictions despite what the stakes are. Maybe it's just me?

There's no other option, really. Since we've been planted back in time, before DBZ ended.. We know Earth is safe. So we've got to risk something else. That being said I will only miss Champa and his team.. The other universes were rushed out and added in to have stuff to destroy. I doubt anyone has been able to develop a connection to them.. This is a big issue though, because Toei just shot out quantity rather than quality. So we get a few decent fights, but really do not care about it all. Or maybe I'm just speaking of my prospective, so if you've managed to gain an attachment to these other universes, grats. I envy your investment. No, no sarcasm intended.
The Omni King is a pretty.. eh character. I can't tell if it's Toei insulting the fan base or just a poorly executed character. The guy literally erased a universe and I just shrug. Freeza's actions had more weight to them. Same for Cell and the Androids. Buu, despite some of his oddities, also carried more weight.

You're speaking of your perspective. Personally, I was really disappointed when U9 got erased. Sure, I was glad to see Roh go, but I wanted to see more of the Trio De Dangers. They had unique fighting styles and proved that strategy could keep up with shear power even at this point in Dragon Ball, and had a lot of potential for character development. I would have liked to see the struggles they went through to get to that point, too. #justiceforuniverse9

Leonardo Farias Dude, how many universes are in this tournament? Between getting backstory/exposition for each of the Z fighters, there's no way in hell you could properly flesh out these universes and form any type of attachment to them. Singular villains in Z gained more screen time and built up their plans, personalities and so forth. Namek had more time. to it.
You just cannot add so much in such a short time and expect that blowing them up leaves an impact. Universe 6 is pretty much the only other universe with any real time invested in it and that's why if/when they get deleted, it'll sort of be a bummer. As for the rest you'll never notice them gone.
I'm invested in the Pride Troopers. I want to know more about them, like if they're really heroes in their universe or just heroes in their own perspective.

My personal belief is it's a balance thing.
Goku and vegeta have gained a INTENSE power boost in such a short amount of time (in terms of gods) and even the universe 6 saiyans and hit are getting stronger really quickly.
I just believe it's a way of keeping only a certain amount of power within these universes. The tournament of power just happened because
Goku: "yo Zeno my home slice ya wanna make a tournament?"
Zeno: "sure why not."

Personally, i hate the things.
They're monsters hiding behind the veneer of innocence; and honestly, they need to be destroyed in some fashion (hopefully by each other), or each universe is always going to be under threat of being erased because of a child's temper tantrum.
Here's my thought. Is it possible that Omni King is less the King of Everything, and more the God of Destruction of everything? I mean he does have his own Angel. He destroys things. He's more like a Beerus than a Zeus.
Although unlikely, I'd love to see Jiren v Goku in the finale, with a build up of course from other key players (Hit, Freiza, Toppo, Vegeta). I'd like to see Freiza's scheme revealed and fail. Vegeta have his own realization about what he has to lose, and his reaction to being knocked out. Toppo realizing Goku isn't evil and then resolving their spat. Ultimately the battle would get so heated that the GP would allow the remaining universes to watch Goku v Jiren without being erased immediately. It would be an extremely tense and emotional fight for the viewer as we see each persons struggle with not knowing who they really want to win. In the end the Victor would stand up to the GP. A riot would break out and Goku would make an extremely risky counter play to the grand priest. Here whis steps in and stops goku, transporting him to some different reality with his knowledge of how everything works. The following arc follows whis and Goku as whis tries to train goku to stand up to the grand priest. they are constantly being chased by other followers of the GP. Meanwhile the remaining survivors try to strike a deal but some important people still end up being erased as a sacrifice. Before this happens they agree upon a super dragon Ball wish to tie the souls of the remaining warriors to goku. As a result Goku undergoes a serious personality change, taking on some of the traits of his fallen comrades and becoming a more jaded version of himself while he struggles to survive, the weight of all mortal existence carried on his shoulders. Anyways, this was mostly a fun daydream, it could take another 100 turns from anyone of those premises.
what if bardocks final spirit cannon was strong enough to kill freeza before he fired the supernova that erased planet vegeta?
Zen-oh has to be the dumbest, most ill-conceived plot device in this entire series. No matter how high up the proverbial totem pole we got, whether it was just King Yama, the Kais, Grand Kais or Supreme Kai, there was always a sense of certainty in that the adults were in charge.

What if Bardock went to Earth following his son instead of challenging Frieza? Bardock realizing that like the Kanasans said; he cant stop his planets destruction, decides to instead train along with Kakarot to eventually become strong enough to beat Frieza (discovering the Dragon Balls as a way to get the planet and the people back if he so chose)
My only question is what would happen if the Omni king took on a disguise like Kami did in DragonBall to just "sample" life itself on earth like Beerus has and enjoy not only earthly foods but entertainment too, would that be a dramatic change in his otherworldly duties or not?
Your assumption that each universe is run somewhat competently is flawed, since they are most likely not. (with the exception of the top 4 maybe)
As we know, universe 10's Supreme Kai Gowasu has lapsed in judgement before with taking Zamasu as his apprentice, and going with the muscle men for his universal tournament fighters.
Universe 7's gods are even worse. Shin doesn't do anything, Beerus trapped Old Kai in a sword and doesn't do anything. The compass Kai's can't even take care of their own galaxies and need Goku to rescue them. After Freeza and Buu went about destroying most of Universe 7's inhabited worlds did it ever occur to Shin, Old Kai, the Grand Kai OR the compass Kai's to use the Dragonballs of Earth and Namek to fix things? No. Because they're terrible at their job. After that Beerus went about destroying a few more worlds because their food wasn't delicious, bringing the entire universe dangerously close to annihilation with only 20something inhabited planets remaining. Speaking of Beerus, where was he while the Kai's were being slaughtered by Buu? Did he just not care that his own existence was about to end? I realize that he wasn't yet invented by this point, but the fact that this hasn't been addressed yet only leads me to assume the gods are astoundingly incompetent at their jobs.
And we can only assume universes 6 and 9 are even worse than that seeing as they were fairly handily defeated by universe 7.
we haven't really explored the other universes so I can't say anything about them, but if we take Universes 6, 7, 9 and 10 as examples and assume them to be the standard I can understand why destroying those flawed universes would serve as a statement and a warning to the remaining universes to take their jobs seriously.
Universe 6 is a higher quality Universe than 7 (barely anyway; it's still the bronze medal for worst universe).
Ah right, seems I've mistaken universe 6 for universe 9 when the grand priest explained the universe levels. Still universe 6 is likely more populous, and with the Saiyan race still very much alive over there their ranking may be higher (if only slightly)

I still say that the reason why Shin had no idea about the Omniking is because none of his senior Supreme Kai's had told him about the Omniking. It is even possible that Elder Kai had never told his apprentices about the Omniking before Beerus imprisoned him in the Z-sword. So they didn't realize that there was anyone above the Supreme Kais and Beerus.
The mortal realm challenging and subverting the immortal realm has been a long-standing story type, it stands to reason we could get that again!

What about the Demons that exist in the DBZ franchise? Towa looks like any of the angles with pointy ears and we never see or hear about what happened to any of the Angles that belonged to any of the other universes that were destroyed prior to the franchise's birth.
If they want to go beyond the Universe Survival arc, then they could possibly reveal that the reason behind the destruction of the weaker universes is because they're being groomed to help defeat some great multiversal evil, and the Omni-King/Grand Priest is working to make sure that the Universes are as strong as possible to ensure that they can at least repel, if not defeat this Evil. Perhaps the Omni-King is a universal Kai, who was supposed to simply create universes, while there was a Universal God of Destruction who was supposed to go around and destroy universes, but the Universal GoD went mad with power and decided that everything should be destroyed or something like that. So, in order to create balance and ensure that the universes might be strong enough to help repel the Universal GoD, the Omni-King took on the duties of the GoD and destroyed the weaker universes to make way for the stronger ones.
i guess the copout explanation is that Xeno can also MAKE universes, so his really long plan would be to just get rid of the bad stuff & made a whole new batch of good stuff
Well, we know this little dude is the Ruler of all things, that does not necessarily mean that he created it all. There could be a creator that simply put him in charge.
It occurs to me that in any other season, the angels, gods of destruction, and Omni kings would be enemies to be fought rather than authority figures to obey.

I think the reason shin doesn't know zeno is purely because he wasn't the highest ranking Kai in universe 7. He was one of a handful of supreme kais and then there was a grand supreme kai. Its possible only the grand supreme kai knew of zenos existence. And in universal and godly terms a few thousand years is like nothing, so that's probably why shin never had a chance to know of him until know

great analysis, yeah its interesting how it has been forgotten that the omni king forgot about the tournament until goku reminded him. which asked the question with his new friend to play with (himself) maybe none of the universes needed to get destroyed because they could share the responsibility. also making goku inderectly responsible for the deaths of all these universes being destroyed making burgamos original statement true and making goku seem out of character as well .also it appeared that the universes either did not know of their ranking or of the mortal level system entirely ( this is shown my supreme kai and beerus ). hence implying they weren't getting feedback in regards to how they were doing . this is briefly brought out by the supreme kai of universe 11 when he suggest for the supreme kais of the universes to request to be allowed to live and work towards allowing them achieving a mortal ranking of 7 and above. which honestly has been the smartest and most rational idea presented yet seemed to have been overlooked by the audience and the in universe characters.with all the other universes introduced it could potential open up so much world building which would be great but it seems they are taking the short cut and destroying these universes. we still don't know whether they will be wished back or not but as of yet we haven't gotten a "happy ending " in super yet so i'm not sure. the omni king seems to be lazy or unwilling to learn and yes i feel the stakes and even meeting the omni king in the series has been very rushed and high. i agree and hope that in the end of all this the mortals and gods have some form of conflict resulting in the gods respecting the mortal and not viewing them as pons. which is what this tournament of power is. mortal fighting for their lives to entertain the omni king. making the viewers desensitize to the value of life because we are seeing characters that we have grown with basically kill other universes each time they eliminate a member yet we are expected to cheer them on while all this. a great example is the pride troopers against universe 6 members which we are being guided to have emotional ties to and them virtually wiping out universe 11 in one episode (pride troopers nto being actual villians of beings poor of character). another point i want to bring up is that even the characters in the tournament are desensitize. they dont seem to be questioning this whole thing, they've just accepted their role and potential fate in this thing. the only one that said anything resembling challenging the gods was freeza yet freeza is not a character that we portray to have good moral character. and champa telling his fighers to take out universe 7 and cheering on universe 9 to wipe out his brother's universe seems bizzard even though we have seen beerus express love towards Champa when he wished backed universe 6 earth for him. seems like a psy op . what are your thoughts on all this?

I think the best explanation would be Zeno seeing Zamasu and the fact he presented a threat to all the universes. Zeno figured several universes were being governed so poorly that they might produce future threats like Zamasu that could potentially wipe out all of existence. In order to make sure at least some universes survive in the long run, Zeno decided to destroy the poorly run universes and thereby eliminate any threats they might produce in the future.

I think that candy he gives the Grand Priest is the catalyst for everything.
I kinda stick to the theory that they will put some universes together in one. Maybe some universes will be erased like universe 4, 9 and 10 but it seems like universe 2, 6, 7 and 11 playing bigger roles. Maybe Xeno will decide to destroy every other universe and maybe put the last 2 universes together with their partner-universe so that 6 & 7 are one universe and 11 & 2 also.
To be honest I think these 4 universes will survive and play a bigger role in the next tournament, which could be at the very end of super and where the stronger universes are playing a bigger role.
I'm actually not expecting the Omni Kings to live through this arc. With them around to keep things in check, I think it limits where the show can go. The two ways I could see this happening are either the Omni Kings destroying each other or the winner of the tournament wishing for them to be destroyed by using the Super Dragon Balls.

Think about it though. With the highest power in the Universes gone, it would open up the doors to allot of possibilities, one of which being war between the mortals and gods. Another would be war between the Universes. With the Omni Kings around neither of those scenarios seems possible since no one would want to risk being erased.

I think there's an even bigger question here: Where did the universes come from in the first place? How did the whole celestial hierarchy come about anyway? And why multiple universes instead of just one?
Someone or something had to create this weird little dimensional system in the first place. And why should we just assume the creator force is no longer active?
I think they're destroying universes to make way for new creation Even with the angels' and omnikings' power, they can only supervise so much at once, so they have to remove older universes in order to create new ones. Whatever the creator force there is might be pressuring them to do so, so they may have had no choice but to go through with it.
I do think we might be seeing a kind of Crisis on Infinite Dragonballs here. i think in the end the Arc will set up a new status quo for teh DB universe, and maybe fundamentally alter the way somethings work.

If Toriyama happens I could see him being like a fun uncle to the Omni King.

Hm was just thinking about this. What if Goku wins the tournament of power, then wishes for all the other destroyed universes to be revived, which then also revives universes destroyed prior to the tournament. Maybe ZeNo destroyed those because he was scared of them, maybe there was a being that had the potential to rival him.
Because either:
A) The Omni-King is sustaining/empowering himself by absorbing mortal life (potentially necessary for the continuation/growth of the universe.) Either through his own need or the Grand Priest's intent to siphon the power off of him.
B) To return to his true/former/adult self. The reason the Omni-King is so child like is because he gave/gives too much of himself in creating/sustaining so many universes, and the Grand Priest is trying to guide the Omni-King back to whatever he was before.
The trunks arc makes the top arc very confusing.

If zeno erased universe 10, why is gowasu alive in the future. I guess maybe since they are in an alternive time line, but if they are in an alternive timeline, could it be that there are other zeno's and possibilities?
Zenou is shown to care about what actually happens in his universes, since he made the effort to destroy them along with Zamasu in the future timeline after he said something to the effect of "a universe like this can't exist."
I believe it was 4chan which came up with the theory that the Universal Survival tournament is a deconstruction of the show itself. That the Omni-King represents the child fans of the series in Japan who demand to be entertained. The Grand Priest and his servants represent the Toei executives and animation studio. If the child fans (Zen-o) get bored or unhappy, the show gets cancelled and everything within the show and all of the characters disappear. Whichever characters earn the approval of the Omni-King (by being entertaining or winning a battle,) get to exist longer, with the main characters of the series most likely to be the last people standing. There are other deconstruction themes within the tournament arc - one of the Universe teams represent a heroic sentai show cast (who quickly learn that a strong sense of Justice won't do them any good in a universe ruled by a pair of petty tyrant children.) Another of the teams has members that resemble a Sailor Moon show cast (whose sentimentalism and flair for theatrics often prove useless.) I think Toriyama might be getting a little tired of this franchise. Maybe his creation of the Omni-Kings and his choosing to portray them as a cross between TFS Mr. Popo and the twins from The Shining is just his way of letting the fans know what he thinks of them.

They did that with the Omni King anyway regarding Subverting expectations, no one expected the Omni-King to just be a little blue/purple child (even though he's most likely Billion's of years old)

I think the obvious answer is "Plot Device"! Or also known as there is no reason other than shock and awe. Still if I had to give a reason that would make any kind of sense, limited space and resources. There can only be so many universes with a fully running heavenly system in place to control and oversee it. If the Omni King wanted to create and entirely new universe he'd have to shift some resources around by getting rid of some of the old ones.

I just realized something.... Back in the Goku Black arc, they told us that because Beerus was killed, Whis went inactive meaning he couldn't help in the fight.
But then we saw Universe 9 get erased and Mojito was completely fine, happy even.

I'd like you to address the difference between Zeno's characterization in his first appearance what's going on now. He was not just a child in his first appearance. He showed up to tell Beerus and Champa to stop slacking off and threatened to replace them as a joke. Can you imagine him doing that with the current characterization?
If all of Zeno's activity is based on his mood, then Goku is responsible for all of this in one way, because it was Goku who started to stimulate his feelings, thus Zeno started to play "games" like in Saw. This is like opening Pandoras's box.
I want to know how strong the omni-king's guards are. They are guarding someone who can blink you out of existance, and his right-hand man's kids train gods of destruction. They must have some sort of cool trick up their sleeves.
I've been thinking of this for a long time and I've come up with a theory/idea to the greater purpose of this tournament. Like the show states Zeno is destroying the weaker universes to maintain balance. But I think a more apt reasoning is that he is destroying them because they're not as powerful.
A good idea for this arc is for it to be a deconstruction of the power levels/power scaling in the dragon ball franchise, as well as maybe give some light commentary of the dragon ball fanbase on how we see its characters. Zeno could be representing the worst parts of the fandom, who couldn't care less about the characters and only want to see strong people fight. This point is is made very apparent at the end of episode 103, where Gohan gets his wake up call after defeating Opni. He sees Opni's locket of his family fall out, showing that he isn't the only one fighting to protect someone. We also have a deep connection with Gowasu ever since the Future Trunks arc. Hell, even the angel seems sad that her universe got erased. These characters matter to the people in their universe...but not to Zeno.
Zeno doesn't care about people, he cares about power and watching cool fights. Zeno thinks if that if something isn't strong or has a high power level, it's not worth existing. To hell if they have a family, there own goals or aspiration- because who cares if their not as strong as Goku?
