I am so, sorry that you were hit in your face Claudia. As a dark skin lady that used to be bullied by black people for my complexion.
I always do my best not to be dismissive of lighter complexions and when they say that they have been bullied or picked on because of their complexions, because I know that no matter what, people will use any excuse to be vicious and hateful when they are envious, obnoxious, and ignorant. So, it is an unfortunate thing to go through. I just think nobody has the right to make you feel lesser or more than based on your complexion.

I agree so much with this. I just had my first child and her dad and I are darker than her, she came out light skin like my dad and I love every bit of it. But people have been saying stuff about her since she was a baby, like my aunt was supposedly joking saying she thought my kid was the Mexicans across the street like wtf if wrong with yall. As a lighter skin woman, I appreciate this comment so much, cuz I am the oldest of 3 beautiful chocolate lil sisters and I fought sooo much over them being picked on! On the flip side my sister's watched people not like me, judge who i am without knowing me, or fight me over the dumbest shit. As they got older, they fought over me as well, cuz 9x's outta 10 it was cuz I was the skinny lighter skin girl in the group....easy target!!! It made our bond as sisters so tight, cuz we all understood and acknowledge each other's plights, So we never tried to Trauma Trump one another, We just support and love each other through it all! I am 100 percent Puerto Rican! And I was adopted! My adopted parents were 100 percent black! I was raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands! I didn’t know who I was for a long time, now I know! I can’t speak Spanish, but I appreciate my black parents and miss them so bad, I just couldn’t express! Whew! Anywho! They raised me as black and that’s how I live! Everyday and in every way! I think we're talking about two things with mixed people...1. Racially 2.Culturally. Racially-you are what your parents are, no argument. Culturally-you are how you were raised. Claudia/Al-you are mixed racially, culturally-you are Black. And that's absolutely fine! We have to make space for people to be mixed if that's what you are. People have to be proud of what they actually are or it will be used against them. Unfortunately, Claudia/Al come from my generation where it wasn't ok to be mixed and I think it shows up in them today and that sucks! Because they are both beautiful, smart and successful people and should be proud of everything they are regardless of what anyone thinks.

AS A WOMAN....I know how to work on cars and do body work (paint cars) etc..you know who taught me? My dad and ex boyfriend (we still cool) they were making sure I don't need help from NO ONE and people not tryna get over on me. The other day I went to my ex shop to get lights installed he was like you know what to do take that ish out ILL do the install and wiring. It's a service...he has AAA they are paid to do the job..no way he should feel away about a woman doing her JOB..thats what they get paid for! 🤷🏽♀️ some women just like to do stuff like that..I LOVE CARS AND LOVE TO WORK ON THEM. I totally feel Claudia about the pain of rejection from black people. I'm biracial Japanese and black, grew up with my black side and although I might have two races, I identify culturally as black. I couldn't and wouldn't identify as Japanese.

I agree with Claudia. It depends on the person. My big sister is a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE mother. CPS took my nieces and nephews several times: My sister is the type of mom that will have Prada shoes on and a Gucci purse meanwhile, her kids aren’t dressed nice. And then there’s me as a mother who has a special-needs child and I literally sacrifice my entire life to make his comfortable. It all depends on the individual. Not everybody who gives birth is a mother.

I’m black and my grandson is a beautiful Hawaiian Chinese Mexican black child. He recognizes and accepts all of his heritage, but he identifies as black. We’ve made sure we expose him to all of his cultures. He chooses to identify as black at nine years old. Maybe because he’s closest to my son, but he adores his mom also. I think it’s really really ignorant for any community to not except a person of mix race. It’s just stupid.

My children are mixed black and white, they love both sides equally; I am teaching them to identify as mixed, but I also tell them to show up the way they are seen to the world. I'm 41 years old and I do not have children. However, I am a full time public servant who is in school for a master's degree. I maintain an A average, I work out multiple times a week, engage in volunteer activities, and I'm dating. To do this successfully, I MUST be organized, disciplined, and structured. Also, my counter and pantry have plenty of snacks. Great show guys, per usual :).

I have to agree with Al when I was single with no kids I had microwaveable food and barely cooked. Too busy. But after being a mother I keep snacks and grew as caring and nurturing more. Big ups to Ocho! Too many people hate on mothers especially single mothers. There are isolated issues of parenting gone wrong but on a larger scale most mothers take care of their kids and have a lot of snacks!

I haven't. an I hate how she doesn't address it. I wish she would just be real with us. She didnt really want to claim her blacknss and now she complains about the rejection. I've never had rejection feeling. I think its because she gives off a vibe of thinking she is better than brown skinned girls.

And then went on to become a reporter for the ONLY black owned newspaper in my state and went on to cover the Million Man March in 1995! So please tell me when I ever denied my blackness. *Build bridges versus barriers.* Im a Black person that has roots that are Black - Ghanaian, Sierra Leone, Native American and White - British, while having a boyfriend who is Chinese & Filipino. We need to stop putting people in a box. People can identify what is familiar to them and also advocate for both sides. I went to 2 HBCUs and pro Black, but want everyone to be treated fairly. I grew up being friends with those of all races, socioeconomic status, religion, etc

I was confused. . . Just because of the amount of melanin I have I had no idea that literally 20% of me is European. . . But when I look at my features my nose and my lips. . . Or should I say lack of lips LoL 😂
