      Thanks for commenting. I loved Zal's set & I wish I had bought the CD they were selling at the signing tent(private pressing so rare now). As I've explained in my previous uploads on my channel my little recorder (ZoomQ2 HD) doesn't have stabilisation so can at times be shakey, but sound usually good. The week was very windy (many festivals cancelled), the stage was swaying so the rear screen was lowered a bit letting light through, this meant I had trouble seeing the small screen on my recorder so I drifted at times as well. I have posted more from this gig/festival on my channel & lots more (340 uploads more to come) bands/solo artists, genres & locations/venues. If you haven't already, please subscribe & check the notification button for uploads as I add them. Thanks again.✌

    Great to see he's still gigging! I'm a USA Sensational Alex Harvey Band fan. They never cracked the US but were popular as a live act. I have personally seen them blow Alice Cooper & Black Sabbath away as an opening act. Does me good to see Zal ripping it up! he always did!

      Thanks for commenting. Sadly this band was disbanded by Zal not long after,there was an album which is hard to get,but there are downloads of the tracks available. I am hoping to see him gigging again soon. I did see Alex at the 1979 Glastonbury in a 'supergroup' that included Peter Gabriel,Steve Hillage,Phil Collins, Nona Hendryx,Tom Robinson & others.

      Thanks for commenting Reine. There are other uploads of Zal @ Cropredy Festival & also other bands artists, genres & venues on my channel IOW70 all various video quality usually good sound though (especially through headphones. All videos are recorded by me), if you are interested please subscribe. I never saw the AHB, but wish I had. I saw Alex Harvey in a 'super group' with Peter Gabriel, Steve Hillage, Phil Collins, Tom Robinson, and Nona Hendryx (possibly others I cannot remember) at Glastonbury Fayre 1979. Steve Hillage has just released his 1979 Glastonbury Fayre set on CD/vinyl (The Glastonbury Experience) this is classic Steve Hillage set.

    Saw SAHB in the mid-60's, and Zal killed with his SG, I worked for months to try to duplicate his tone. He dressed like a Joker or Court Jester and paraded around the stage. AWESOME !! He's still got Chops !!

    • @IOW70
      @IOW70  2 года назад

      Thanks for looking at my upload & taking the time to comment. I guess you meant the mid-70s (the band formed in 1972). I never actually got to see SAHB (I really wish I had) but I did see Alex playing/singing in a 'super group' at the 1979 Glastonbury Fayre not long after SAHB disbanded. The group included Peter Gabriel, Steve Hillage, Nona Hendryx,Tom Robinson, Phil Collins & another guy I don't remember but I have a picture of him & the others. Some say John Martyn played in the group as well, but I don't remember that, he was in the line-up. The makeup that Zal has on is a nod to his SAHB 'clown/pierriot' stage persona which is 'breaking through' from the past, a great idea.
      It's a shame the Sin' Dogs broke up not long after this. Hopefully Zal will be back out on the road soon.

      @@paulellis6840 I have only been to Reading Festival once, 1978 & then only for 1 day, that was to see Spirit, I left before Status Quo to hitch home, it seemed at the time that as I walked further from the site the better Quo sounded (sound wise). Reading now seems to be a bit of a 'kiddy fest'. Even back in '78 there were morons throwing cans of piss & kids acting up, by what I've seen/heard/read, it hasn't got any better & possibly worse now.

    • @paulellis6840
      @paulellis6840 Год назад +1

      @@IOW70 Must admit '77 was probably the last great Reading Festival SAHB, Thin Lizzy, Doobie Bros, Uriah Heap (very 'eavy, very 'umble), Golden Earing, Frankie Miller (another underrated Scot) Hawkwind tits 'n all😀Not to mention the massively underrated Lone Star, Widowmaker and Aerosmith. I was 15 at the time does this qualify as a kid's festival. Piss cans were thrown at every festival I've been to since. Part of the fun, you ain't lived if you ain't been sprayed by a piss can. Or as they call it nowadays an incendiary device.😀

    • @IOW70
      @IOW70  8 месяцев назад

      Thanks for commenting. I think the booking probably took place after the previous successful appearance by Zal's Sin Dogs on the Brasenose Arms garden stage during a previous Cropredy Festival. I remember hearing a great rendition of a SAHB song being played when I was in the camping field nearby & saying to my wife "Wow, somebody's playing a great version of Faith Healer", I wish I had made my way straight there to hear& see Zal & band. I never realised they were playing there. I'm glad I recorded this all be it a bit shaky. I later went to see Zal headlining at the Whitby Rocks Festival (Whitby Pavillion) & he canceled, the upside was Ken Pustelnik's Groundhogs took over as the headline act playing the whole of Thank Christ For The Bomb album (some on my channel along with Stray & The John Verity Band (ex Argent).

      Absolutely phenomenal live (and on record, for that matter)! I was lucky enough thankfully, to see them at Eleven in Stoke at the end of March 2019. And meeting Zal was an absolute honour. What a lovely, and cool bloke! Unfortunately, despite having tickets to see the guys at the same venue a few months later, it was not meant to be. Still, at least i got to see them. And what a gig it was... \m/ (:o)

      I saw him at Cropredy Brasenose Fringe then again at Fairports festival and he was brilliant both times.
      A lot of people his behind their chairs, some clutched twin set and pearls to their bosoms in horror, hoping for salvation; "this is not lefty trad ale drinking folk they lamented, Zal is a bad boy, he is noisy and base, we must trumpet loud our disapproval on social media!" and lo, they did!
      However, those who love Zal rocked like bastards and thought fuck 'em.
      Oh, and Dave Pegg the festival organiser liked Zal too!

      Sorry I did explain in my channel info there's not any stabilisation on the Zoom Q2 HD I use & I do not use any editing software,I use a Chromebook to upload (editing apps are not plentiful or have a stabilising function) RUclips use to smooth out shaky videos,not any more. Also I'm at a festival having fun which means at times I'm not so stable either :-)
