  • A stop frame animation produced by Year Six students over seven days at the Lisle Marsden Church of England Primary School in Grimsby. The young people took Edward Lear's famous poem and devised storyboards for each scene of their film. They then focused on set design and made all of the backgrounds, characters and props featured within the story. Once these were completed using the software icananimate, pupils produced each scene including beginning and end credits. Next they worked as a small team composing their own musical score 'Mopstick Rag' with instruments practiced in school. Finally as a class we worked together on the sound design and pace of the piece, each member of our production team narrating the Owl and the Pussy Cat poem to produce this film which is the WINNER of the Key Stage 2 Animation Catergory for the 2009 North East Lincolnshire Media Awards competition. The film will now be entered into the national finals to be held in London in November 2009. The production of this film was made possible due to the students from the school acquiring these skills from being part of the Creative Partnerships Change School programme.
