- The US appears to be considering the possibility of allowing Ukraine fire long-range Western-supplied missiles into Russia, which would represent a shift in its long-standing policy regarding Moscow, FRANCE 24’s Kethevane Gorjestani said, pointing to President Biden’s recent meeting with UK PM Starmer to discuss the topic. The upcoming presidential election in the US may play a part in the decision-making as Western allies hope to “Trump-proof” support for Ukraine in its war with Russia, Gorjestani said.

And while Ukraine was receiving those $200 billion over those two and a half years, Russia spent an almost equivalent amount on its side to, in the end, lose a fourth of the territory they used to occupy at the start of their 2022 escalation along with a lot of their best capabilities. Where it was Ukraine fielding old WW2 weapons in 2022, now it's Russia who was seen, in 2024, taking out a WW2 artillery piece from the old soviet stocks to keep the war going...
