If we're talking amount-per-world, then the ant block is the rarest block. It's only in the 20w14infinite snapshot, and you have to go to the dimension named "ant" and there will be one "ant" block roaming around in the dimension. I don't know a lot about it, but it's a reference to Langton's Ant
April's fools snapshots don't count. They add all sorts of rare blocks. And since multiple blocks are only spawned once in them, then you'd have to start counting the amount of people who have generated one, making older snapshots having rare blocks etc.
The TRUE rare naturally generating blocks that nobody ever talks about: End Portals (the portals themselves), End Gateways, Purple Glazed Terracotta (can generate in one specific underwater ruin type), and Infested Chiseled Stone Bricks (which can generate rarely ONLY in igloo basements).
no idea how i forgot about end portals, but they would probably be close to pig spawners when it comes to rarity, just a bit more common. end gateways don't seem that rare, at least not as rare as some of the other blocks i mentioned, but still an interesting case. i didn't bother looking into common structures like ocean ruins and igloos, but if there's some rare exclusive blocks, i'll definitely look into those
i ran a count on 100 billion blocks in a world and here were the bottom 25: white_glazed_terracotta green_wool lime_glazed_terracotta orange_stained_glass_pane red_wool mossy_cobblestone_wall lime_terracotta potted_allium stone_button potted_azure_bluet potted_oxeye_daisy potted_white_tulip spruce_pressure_plate dark_oak_fence_gate diorite_slab granite_stairs granite_wall magenta_carpet mossy_cobblestone_slab potted_birch_sapling potted_blue_orchid potted_poppy damaged_anvil gray_wall_banner lapis_block there were no end portal frames within the searched area, but more notably, no diamond blocks.
In canon minecraft it can be tall grass or tall fern but theres a method of changing blocks called data transmutation in older versions there was one with arrows, someone changed the pistons data so it was 6 sided.when activated it crashes the game, after doing it sometimes you can get another transmutation method with doors and the 6 sided sticky piston you can get negative cake, invisible half door,a furnance without the burning texture thing, there's a ton of possibilities.idk them all but some ppl do.
if we go by the rules i set for the snowy grass block, it wouldn't be a rare block since every bed also consists of a half bed, so it's more of a rare generation quirk, but still, that's really interesting. it's gotta be rare too since i've never seen it after beating the game probably over 100 times
True, it's a similar case to normal diamond ore and deepslate emerald ore, but because coal isn't restricted to a certain biome like deepslate emerald, is fairly common and also comes in large veins that can extend a few blocks down, it's the most common of those 3
@@RichConnerGMN By the way, none of these blocks are really suitable for custom blocks, at least not with 1.20 having a working NBT crafting workaround. They generate very rarely, but still generate. The most viable custom blocks, at least from my experience, are waterlogged double slabs (although there's the issue of losing them when you place them out of water). Unless, of course, you're willing to remove recipes.
Rarest obtainable block aside from the egg has got to be crap like double tall grass or ferns as an item, which only rarely spawn in mesa acacia villages, that or deepslate emerald ore which I've only ever seen once in survival
double tall grass is actually fairly common. villages are simple enough to come by, and savanna villages in particular have a chest in a lot of houses, and for each chest there's around a 46% chance for it to contain double tall grass as an item
Welll pig spawner is the rarest block as it cant be obtained through normal ways and there is no guarantee for this to spawn in every Minecraft world. Soo it is a glitch though but we still count it as a rarest block in Minecraft
kind of? i mean, it does spawn on its own, but it requires direct player input to spawn, so i wouldn't call it naturally generated, but it's definitely a special case
I don’t know if you have notifications of for comments and maybe it’s intentional but injustice wanted too let you know that the comments are off on your snapshot vid about ores
i didn‘t know that. it‘s because spawners are now in the creative menu i assume? the point i made in the video still stands though, just that it‘s not pig spawners, but empty spawners

True
I didn't even know the latter two existed.
@@catwithfish9314 Exactly
I had no idea the pig spawner thing could happen, thats really cool.
Honestly, it's either the diamond block or pig spawners because you need really good luck to find them naturally.
pig spawner is so much rarer
@@vrtr well yeah, but if, like Mono said in the video, NBT data doesn't count, then the diamond block is the rarest. That's why I stated both.
I think. The Diamond block is the rarest block. It's way harder to find it then the end portal frames.
Pig spawner: I’m The true rarest block it’s because people can get me in older versions
You could get the end portal to generate as if the end portal has the eyes and each is 1/10 and it would have to be on a chunk border.
yeah, honestly no idea how i forgot about that, but that would be one of the rarer blocks, probably a bit more common than pig spawners

The rarest block in the game is you, and the villagers we made on the way to find the rarest block

half beds can spawn in villages super rarely but with the amount of villages there are I don't know how rare it actually is

The rarest block in the game has to be the snowy grass block
what about naturally generated end portal blocks? it is like a more common pig spawner
true, i should've mentioned that in the video, but i somehow forgot
@@MonoCodeYT bruh.
I think the hardest block to obtain in Minecraft without structures or mobs is NATURALLY GENERATED GILDED BLACKSTONE
What about deepslate coal? According to the chart, coal just barely touches the deepslate border.
True, it's a similar case to normal diamond ore and deepslate emerald ore, but because coal isn't restricted to a certain biome like deepslate emerald, is fairly common and also comes in large veins that can extend a few blocks down, it's the most common of those 3

the pig spawner as i have encounter all of these but that. And I am pretty sure its rarer than even a naturally generating portal block, nether or end
