Very balanced content. Most channels either lean into too much analysis or spending nearly an hour on a single hand analysis. This had the perfect balance, thank you, will check out more of your videos
Why am I always watching these videos? I don't even play Poker... but now I could follow a conversation between two poker players using poker lingo without missing most information; that's something I guess.
You should play. If you understand his videos without the added help of actually playing, then throwing that in would make things come together all that much more. Good chance you’d be decent atbthe game.
Good point ive learned recently, don't get discouraged when u run into someones top top cause statistically it wont happen often. Keep the bet lead and stick to ur read
Thank you James. This is, as usual, so well thought out and presented. I appreciate your content as it goes along with what I am currently working on. You have been so helpful in my growth in the past year.
No, there is a gaming channel called Mental Fox where the guy’s voice is so chill and relaxing that you can’t help but feel super relaxed. This guy’s voice is good, sure, but Mental Fox is another level.
Good new video! I have been watching your video in your list ,very useful. May I know whether you still have any discount for buying flopzilla ? Or what is now your recommend now? Your video about range is very good for me.
What happened to that one? My dad had a ‘66 GTO. He wrecked that in the early 70s or maybe late 60s though. Sad thing was, beyond losing that car and him being hospitalized and all that, he was planning on using the GTO as trade-in on a brand new 1970 Charger in the next month or so. Wish either one of those was still in his possession bc he took good care of his stuff. Well, aside from crashing them into trees or telephone polls when out drag-racing, that is.
One of the most ignored topics in poker is the problem with classification. You think you can safely label someone Aggro, TAG, LAG etc. Really? How robust are your observations? Why don't you walk through ALL the factors that are necessary to arrive at that conclusion like sample size, the context of that observation (players to left and right), table-image given a certain collection of players, etc., etc. It's fun to believe you have a definitive read and that now you get to go into exploit mode. Most of the time, the validity of that read is lacking particularly with sample sizes of only a few thousand hands. Some of the time you are the one who has been exploited in your desire to be exploitative.
This is a totally fair point, and really where we get into the art and science of the game. Making assumptions doesn't guarantee that the assumptions will be perfect. But with experience, player pool analysis, and a solid technical foundation - the ability to make better assumptions increases dramatically. That said, the sample size will always be lacking and there will always be a margin of error in the assumptions. And if players aren't willing to accept that margin of error, they can always attempt to implement a more balanced approach so long as they understand they are far from optimal in 99% of games.
I agree for the most part. But the thing is there are a lot of spots that are 0 EV at equilibrium using a GTO strategy. And those that case, IMO we might as well work off of flawed, failiable assumptions and try to do better then make a bunch of 0 EV decisions. Making an educated guess and being wrong in our assumptions sometimes is better then breaking even in a spot.
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge free of charge. I have some feedback that you might find useful: you're too verbose. I understand when you make a presentation to the camera, you don't have a human being in front of you to indicate whether or not they're understanding your message, so it might make you want to reiterate the same ideas in different words to make sure your point was made. Unfortunately, rather than make your point more emphatic, this just waters your message down and makes the presentation feel tedious. Although I haven't actually tracked the ratio of sentences to ideas expressed, I get the impression that you could easily cut the amount of talking by 2/3 and make the same points. You might consider actually writing out a script in advance and practicing it before going on camera. Since you already have videos recorded, you could try transcribing the words you've spoken, cleaning up the resulting text into a tight script, and re-recording the new script. I can tell you have a lot of valuable ideas but I keep finding myself saying, "ok, I get it" and wishing you'd cut yourself off already. It gets tedious to listen to after a while. You have a pleasant presentation and are articulate and clearly knowledgeable, so if you could just work on brevity, your vids would be a lot more enjoyable.

The white James Harden is James Sweeney
I owe a lot of my game to your vids over the years. Thank you.
You are very welcome. But you put in the work and thus you deserve the credit =)
Rasputin knows the score.
What a difference a beard makes
Why am I always watching these videos? I don't even play Poker... but now I could follow a conversation between two poker players using poker lingo without missing most information; that's something I guess.
Because you know many of the concepts apply both on and off the table =)
You should try playing, maybe you're next Ungar:D

I really like your channel and I will like to know if you play cash games, mtt or live tournaments? And why. Thank you
He's a cash game guy. A lot of times when he is asked about tournaments he notes that he isn't an expert.
cash. I discuss why in this older video: ruclips.net/video/BVpDTsdYRa4/видео.html
Great video James!! Would like to see some hand analysis videos again.
Thanks Ray! I'm not abandoning HH videos, just trying a new format for a bit =)

Thank you! I don't have a Flopzilla discount to offer anymore, but it's worth every penny even at full price =)
Youve commentated before on live at the bike right?your voice sounds very familiar
I have not =(
Ok, so my brain was VERY wrong all this time, when trying to match a face to the voice, :D.
I've learned to stop asking "what did you think I looked like" =P
You make great content
Thank you RYL!
Wow!! Happy to see you bro! I´ll come back for further chat:DD gotta run now
Enjoy your run =)
Came for the video, stayed for the cat.

I used to drive a '68 GTO

Sure, but you probably won’t beat rake and the good regs will carve up the fish taking all the money
So this is the man behind the voice
yup. eyeballs, nose, and all =)
Why is this always in the morning?
I typically record videos between 4-7am. So...morning =)
i pictured you with glasses. Regardless, keep the videos coming!
I wear glasses when I play as I can't see a damn thing from the 2, 3, 8, or 9 seat lol
@@splitsuit What country/state do u play in. I have learned so much over the years from you. I truly thank you.
@@everythingallin4905 You're very welcome Jay =) I'm in the US
At the end of the day nobody beats the rake.
With this line of thinking, you might as well not drive a car because gas costs money. 🤷♂️😅
Doug Polk is a GTO robot.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
James, I'm guessing you have Inuit blood.
First time seeing you. Funny thing your voice does not match the image i had of you. LOL. Dont ask
I've learned to not ask that question lol

Do you have a beard to exploit people's tendency to be intimidated by it?
Nope, but it's an interesting bi-product lol

No offense but nobody wants to see your face, do it more presentation like more infos graphics examples etc.
I plan on doing a mix of both - but I'm enjoying using a different format at the moment.
i'm here exclusively for the face i dnt even play poker
I somewhat agree. I dont need to watch this video, its more like a podcast
