I was very lucky to have ridden these trains more than once while they were still around. They served the rails of Britain well in their 45 year long career, I salute them. So sad to see the age of the HST come to an end. I’d usually agree with the phrase adapt with the times, but I can’t agree with it in this case because of how much I hate the class 800s. So yeah, rip to the HSTs and bollocks to the class 800s.
Last week these classic MK3s were carrying passengers, this week they are on their way to the scrapman ironickly via the GWML i wonder what the poor suffering passengers waiting on cold stations for the non arrival of a rancid plastic IEP think? may wonder why they cant be used on a tempory basis to cover shortfalls
Trust me plenty of HSTs are being preserved and many already have been. For the time being Scot Rail, Cross Country and GWR still operate them so make the most of that.
Amazing shots! Sad they are going away. I live in Belgium so i didnt get to see them. You must be one lucky guy!
Fantastic video! Great captures, the HSTs will be greatly missed :)
Brilliant railway video. What an end to an era, will miss making my journeys on these HSTs. Despite their problems, they were magnificent trains.
What problems were those?
@@12crepello Some I travelled in had issues with their engines and had to be stopped for maintenance, thus delaying the journey.
I can be seen in the west hampstead shots. I also went to cricklewood and got totally bowled out with that 12 car 700...
Nice! The bowling at Cricklewood tho haha, I was there too
Farewell hsts you were one of the best units ever have you done one for the 365
I miss that train I loved it when I was a kid 😢
Great filming of such a sad occasion😔. At least you only got bowled at WHP once, very nearly twice though❗️😅
2:36 curse that 700 ruining the shot
Yeah you tell them!
Man what a legend of speed. I loved its sound when it flies past at 125 mph. It sounds like a jet as it goes when I see one.
I agree. Nothing else comes close. We still have short form HSTs operating in the south west. I am happy for that.
Especially the valenta engine

Couldn't agree more
Sadly we currently have 20 year old unrefurbished Class 360s and abysmal Class 222s!
Another chapter that comes to a close
The HST will be missed
*The understatement of the year.*
hi, I'm editing a video and wanted to know if I could use some clips of your video in my video
Thanks, Jack.

With the end of these icons on the MML will East Midlands railway still have a direct route between Leeds & st Pancras?
Yes it will, but it be run by a 222 until they are replaced by the 810s.
Fantastic British engineering.
Is 43 102 gonna be preserved
I bloody well hope so!
depressing just like the last 365
Please say some of the heritage railways are preserving stock 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Nice
That pesky 700
Whats replacing the HST on EMR?
Eventually Japanese plastic rubbish
Class 810
In a couple of years time: Class 810 Aurora
Now: Class 222 Meridian
Is the the last time they will ever run
I think they’re still running out west and up north. Just no longer out of London.
Bloody 700

Well, it isn't a true. The fastest diesel train has max speed of 271 km/h. It's a soviet TEP 80.
Buuuut. This locomotives aren't in regular using
