    Age-wise, Gaethje is like a kid to me, but, I can't help suffering a little bit of Hero Worship. Not only is he one of the best to ever do it, he seems like a genuinely good lad. The greatest win in geathje's career was dethroning tony ferguson in an upset and ruining khabib vs tony for good.
    But his second most important I think is the fiziev fight (especially if fiziev goes on to become a great historic 155). Because geathje fought a lot of fighters from his own generation and the previous one (which mean old), but fiziev a phenomenal talent from the new era, young in his prime and on a massive wining streak.
    And to school him like that is one of the biggest validation of geathje's skills. You can't say geathje won because his opponent was too old, geathje won because his skills are great.
    And you can't say anymore that the new generation is better that they gonna just run through the old guard either because if they can't beat (geathje, beniel, Islam, poirier ) when they got the advantage of youth on their side than, if it was prime vs prime they never had a chance.

    Maybe, just maybe people should earn title shots instead of basing it off privilege and popularity. Dustin and Gaetje have had their opportunities - at least Dustin just fended off a top prospect but it’s still time for fresh blood. Let the two of them go after each other.

    I was hoping he would get the rematch against Olivera personally. It's an easier fight for him (id like to see justinnfight as long as he can)
    I think he wants that one back more too, he mentioned it
    He knows Olivera could have/should have lost. He wants it back because it was a bad performance and he made mistakes.
    Dustin, he had a good fight he just lost to a more durable guy.

    I'm sure I'm probably wrong.. but I think bret is being lazy by saying gaethje was slower in the standup than raffy just like all the commentary said even Gaethje said prior..
    But if you watch, gaethje threw at almost the same speed if not faster..see quicker & faster are 2 different things in MMA.

      @@tangerinesarebetterthanora7060 lol that term always makes me laugh, you got these grown men who are fighters and thus amongst the toughest guys on the planet, and the fans complain about them being bullies. Regardless I'll admit he's huge but remember he won the Glory LHW belt in kickboxing too so he has shown himself to still be elite and the best in the world even against guys his own size

    • @tangerinesarebetterthanora7060
      @tangerinesarebetterthanora7060 Год назад

      @@masrr3678 yeah it's only fans who have an issue with people cutting a ton of weight and then ballooning before the fight. fighters hate it as well as it puts them at an unfair advantage being 15-20; pounds heavier then their opponent on fight night.
