He's become a reflection of his environment and his community. It really is a powerful artistic piece when you think about it.
That's Passive Living!
The Curse (2023)
Lol it's a bit.
@@bperk3253 Yes... Way to go big guy 👍 And the sun is bright and socks go on your feet.
@@bperk3253 Have you seen The Curse?....
I love how addressing the gag only lasted 30 seconds and the rest was completely normal. Legendary.
would have been even better if they just didn't address it at all
The dedication for just such a throw away joke just to follow it up with a genuinely interesting serious interview. I appreciate this guy
Was thinking the same, but equally satisfied with the idea that he came down early to earn some change on a milk crate before the show @@frarfarf
@@frarfarf It would indeed be funnier if he said "Let's not talk about it", but still not bad
It looks like black and white television, maybe a reference that's hard to pinpoint.
I like that he presumably saw Nathan’s ridiculous outfit on Jimmy Kimmel Live and was like “Oh you think you can come up with the craziest outfit for a late night talk show to promote The Curse? BET!”
They probably discussed it between them on how to promote the show since they're both the creators and writers of the show. Gotta get people to talk about the show!
@@Pillowlips77 I assume so too…I was kinda joking in my comment. I think it’s really smart to dress up and be so eye-catching especially because a lot of people might not know who Safdie is BUT they might decide to watch the video out of intrigue on why he’s dressed like that when they otherwise wouldn’t.
@@tessas yes totally! 😂
I think it’s actually a callback to a short film the Safdie bros made with Adam Sandler while they were shooting Uncut Gems. Check out “Goldman vs. Silverman”
@@tessasyou internet fans are just too weird anymore.
His performance in the Curse is spectacular
I got to be honest when I started watching it I was a little lost on his character, but midway he is slowly becoming my favorite.
@anthonyparedes1334 same. I thought something extravagant was going to happen soon but it's certainly a slow burn. Yet it has made me appreciate his and everyone's character more.
lol you should watch some real actors act. Nothing spectacular about his amateurish performance
@@lostfilmsfromthepast good thing we didn't ask you. Peace!
@@lostfilmsfromthepast Your mom gives amateurish performances.
Lmao Benny is so talented tho. Loved him in Oppenheimer. He and his brother make great films 🙌🏼
I first saw Benny Safdie in Goodtimes. Such a good movie. Then Uncut Gems. Greatness is in the making.
King of comedy
Last night I showed a friend The Curse, told her that was the brother from Good Time, and she was so shocked and she still couldn't believe it when she left.
good time*
He co wrote and directed those too.
I really appreciate the effort he/whoever else went through to put on that fantastic and ridiculous costume. Props bruh. 😂
yeah, who knew a j would take any opportunity to make some side-money as a street hustler
Been trying to strike up a friendship w this guy since college. Total master at talking endlessly.
You went to college with benny safdie ?
Indeed. Boston U.
Did you hang out? What was he like?
@@Grindtesque yes, some. Always a delight. I was totally enamored by him and his bro's movies. Felt like i'd finally found purpose in coming all the way to America for college (not like there was much of a choice, from Abu Dhabi-- back then it was America or nothing, for children of expats born and raised in the UAE... parents are Indian, but i never lived there; visited twice).
@@bookmanahmed Wow, I am studying in America now having come from an expat family in the same city. (For what it's worth, nowadays a lot of the kids tend to leave for Europe, Canada, or even Hong Kong/Singapore/East Asia moreso than the US.) Good taste in movies and I'm totally jealous you got to talk with the Safdie brothers as students :)
I don’t know if I like this new take on the Hulk. But I trust Mark Ruffalo.
This isn't appreciated enough.
🤣🤣🤣
Im so obsessed with this show and everything surrounding it. This is great
I liked it better when Leno hosted.
@@OneLickLessI think she’s talking about The Curse - the show that Benny was promoting.
The Curse was a stupid wank...like Benny
Him saying that he makes fiction feel like real life and Nathan making real life feel like fiction also perfectly describes their respective interviews on here and Jimmy Kimmel
Silverman on the TONIGHT show wtff amazing deserved moment for Benny so dam cool. He’s really had a hell of a few years between Oppenheimer, Licorice Pizza, the severely underrated Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, appearing in the Star Wars universe, and now with this Nathan show The Curse lol the versatility of this man is insane, MORE than just killing it and has a bright bright future ahead of em
Wow I have never heard his regular voice, only seen him in Good Time and Oppenheimer
just realized that too lol
He was also really great in Licorice Pizza!
How! He has done many interviews!
@@aslan9334 like I said, only seen him in those movies, haven't watched any interviews
Benny looks like he’s about to give jimmy what he deserves
I don't know if this is a good thing or not!
😭😭
Love Benny's Keep talking and be rewatched many times if needed (especially by non-english audiences) attitude. Having projects with Emma Stone is so cinema kingy!
Are you gay?
I hear this in an Adam Buxton voice
We love benny safdie
This guy is such an underrated actor who fully transforms in every role he chooses. No role is at all the same. Oppenheimer, the curse. Even the way he talks and moves his body in this interview against the character he portrays in the curse are completely different. And not just because of the long hair, all the subtle mannerisms of the way he holds himself is also very different
Appreciate ben safdie commitment wearing that ridiculous outfits tonight hilarious 😂.
Yup ‼️❤️🫡
Both Nathan on Kimmel and Benny in Fallon being SO COMMITTED to the bit is CRAZY
nobody is laughing? Like, I understand Jimmy Fallon not being funny, but Safdie is killing it. "Have you guys seen 'Wish.'" Incredible.
Different styles of understandings exists :(
😂😂
Emma stones performance really is incredible
RUclips compression can't cope, bruh. 😂
✨🥈
Kaufman-esque. Good work.
him in The Curse, OMG, subtly spectacular!!!
Watching this interview after having finished the curse and within the first minute hearing him say “you’re out there with no net whatsoever” ………too soon
So amazing that Zach and Ralph both got mentioned on The Tonight Show!
I liked this guy when I saw him in Are You There God, It’s Me Margaret? and now love him the moment I saw he was head to toe silver.
👏‼️
Why isn't this guy in the awards conversation for Oppenheimer. Him and Jason Clarke were the best of the supporting cast.
Love the Safdies man
I know my people when I see them. He's beautiful in silver.
Handsome and amazing person a total silver ⭐️
Is it just me or does he sound exactly like Jason Segel in the clip at the end?
"no net whatsoever." 😮
I died😂
After watching Nathan’s Jimmy Kimmel review I assume they were trying to top each other in sheer ridiculousness in presentation
Jimmy can't get a word in or a fake laugh. Good work Benny.
😅 Yay ❤ Benny!
If yal aren’t familiar, this outfit is referencing Safdie’s short film ‘Goldman v Silverman’
Yeah am sure many of his fans know!🤣
Brings a whole new meaning to "WITNESS MEEEEEEE!!!!!"
Hey they have Silverman! They should bring out Goldman too
I was looking for this reference immediately 😂
I wish Jimmy could just be himself
It's literally chip and Joanna Gaines from fixer upper
SO interesting how dressing up in an extravegant gag allows Benny to have an extremely sincere interview. An interview that would be too sincere to have done without the getup.
🥈Love the Silver Face
The first black and white guest in the history of the tonight show
benny going kaufmanesque
I like the shiny suit!
Still haven't seen that short film. I don't know where to watch it. (The Silverman / Goldman one with Adam Sandler)
its on youtube
Hi Ben! Regards from Lucy & Me @ Dr. Sobel’s office ! 👆🏽‼️😍👋👋
The Nathan to Emma applause ratio is absurd
Second to Cillian Murphy, he was the best part of Oppenheimer as Edward Teller.
Hahaha. Didnt expect that
Love how the only time you remember Jimmy is in the room is when he bursts into an excruciating fake laugh
Yup!👍
Ha, I didn't realize the TV producer character was played by Safdie.
He posted it in social media!
Yup! 🤩⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️‼️👍
The Curse is like nothing else.
Only jimmy fallon would laugh harder at a guys name than the punch line the said guy is saying
What is this dude talking about though? Anyone know?
That is a skin condition. My uncle had it as well.
i thought it was mark ruffalo at first lol
great serie!
This Ralph guy sounds a lot like Mark Normand :P
He looks like an enthusiastic Tin Man who auditioned for something way out of his league, as Tin Man, even though no robots were involved. He would have Molly and frequent the clubs around Broadway... always in makeup, always smiling, always ready to delight audiences of all ages. His drugs are great too, but he's weird....All of the baggies of his drugs he sells covered in silver paint all over them and they're warm because he can't really sweat. He smells like popcorn and The Big Top! He actually looks like he's passively living with those clogged pores and dedication to avoiding all cares in the world.
i read some youtube comment that said oh bennie safdie wants to be nathan felder so bad... because he was trying to be as funny as him during a press conference ... and i guess they were truthful lol
Robert j Wilke talk about john doucette
He's going for Silver Guy but he looks like he is on black and white tv.
I was his brother's muse.
?
I dont think the comments section understands that he's doing a bit. These are not true stories lol this is like some Heidecker performance art shit and Fallon goes for it.
Lol what? He's directly answering questions about the Curse. The only bit is the outfit and the first 30 seconds
Still feels surreal I got to work with him, Josh and Nathan for a day
Do tell!
❤‼️
0:46 "no net"
Oh my god
no net you say?
Come on Teller! all that sunscreen ain't gonna protect you from nuclear holocaust
My hands would be pink again before the interview began.
"No net" Foreshadowing???
Guys what does the ending of the curse mean to you! No spooilers
wow he reminds me so much of Albert Brooks
And they say that Clark Kent's glasses disguise wouldn't work.
Haven’t seen Mark Ruffalo in ages!
What is w/ this Mark Ruffalo comments!
Where is the link yoooo lmk
i need him lol
The interview starts at 5:22
benny is a comedians comedian
POSITIVITY FORCE
I bet Benny is obsessed with gags lol. He's a genius though.
He is! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️‼️👆🏽👆🏽
Come on, Jimmy! Why didn't you wanna try to sing a little Ditty with Benny like you did with Dua and Brad, huh?!?!????
That's not Benny that's Silverman
he is talking so much lol
He just goes and goes but he is very entertaining
So Nathan is Benny’s muse?
Nice 👍
Is he The wizard of oz guy?
Why is Jimmy laughing hysterically? Did something funny happen?
he seems wasted
Have you never seen his show before? He fake laughs at everything
@@urmumsbaps True. But in this case it seemed totally out of place. It seems insecure.
Jimmy's giggling along to make it seem like this isn't bombing (to imply that there's some deeper humor we're all missing).
You must be new
The nbrhd vibes
Al Silverman making a reprise from the short.
Way to pull in new fans, that down deep inside don't fret if you were always into real estate comidee and you just now want to act like you just only now got into it. Be part of the agenda that takes down the system, and pass go. $200.
Every single scene of this show made me uncomfortable, and every character in them is uncomfortable too 😂
He should have wrapped it up with, "And that's why I look like this."
The audience is too lame for Benny
He looks like Mark Ruffalo
I don't get the Wish movie reference.
The Tin Man has come a long way from Wonderland
Did you mean oz or did I miss the joke
@@unfamiliarfamiliar You are correct
Jimmy is far too drunk to be able to comprehend what he's even seeing

Who is this guy again? Looking at him reminds me of Oz’s tin man. But with diamonds & idk ?????….🤔grease 😳 He sure would fit in w/the tree tinsel. Seems like a down to Earth kinda guy. He didn’t have time to change. Can’t blame the guy for taking advantage of his whereabouts . Working it making a extra buck or two. Smart thinking really. 👍🙏🏻👏🏻
