I am almost 80 , an Iranian/American,happily married ,still practicing physician.I hope to see Kiev one day if I survive COVID-19! .Have fallen in love with Ukraine because of your videos. By the way you represent the beautiful people and country of Ukraine WELL. I will try to learn some Ukranian lunguage.Long live the strong and beautiful people of Ukrain...... Dr. Steve.
Ukrainian food is great. My hotels had great breakfast buffets. All fresh, natural , made from scratch, no artificial processed foods. Only needed one meal a day
I'm going to Kiev next month. However, after watching this video, I feel like I was just there. That's because the food is so good. It is one of the main reasons, I go back every summer. But for me, I spend half of what you spend. Because I mostly eat at home. Also, along the streets, there are so many small food stands. They sell so many delicious things, like in the restaurants. And in the summer, especially in August, all the different fruits, and melons, is awesome. And I love my home made hot chocolate. I just break off a piece of a chocolate bar, and add it to milk. The milk could even be fresh cow milk. The chocolate, could be one of a hundred types, they have in Kiev. But in Liev, there is even more variety and cheaper prices. However, Lviv, must be the worlds chocolate capital.
I've eaten food all over the world nothing compares to Ukraine Cuisine. My Grandmother from Poland would cook a lot of the same foods, When I go to Ukraine, Its like going to Grandma's, Stay Beautiful Alina, Winter Well my Friend, Belus, Indonesia, "I ♥️🇺🇦"
Hello Alina, Thanks for this video as i really enjoyed viewing it & learning so much more about Ukraine, the country itself, the streetscape, it's people, culture, food, etc;. I found out via a DNA test, that my Mother and i are part Ukrainian (Eastern European), plus Central European, Baltic, Ashkenazi Jewish, etc;. I have never visited Ukraine, but i would like to visit some day, most obviously because of my ethnic make up. I'm certainly curious to visit and to learn much more about Ukraine and it's peoples. Of course nowadays, it's not possible to go absolutely everywhere one wants sadly/unfort, bec of the ongoing war. My heart & prayers goes out, to all who have suffered, or lost a loved one due to the war. Thanks for sharing and my best wishes to all in Ukraine.
I remember accidentally walking into a Puzata Hata in Kiev 7 years ago. I had a little Canadian flag pinned my lapel that one of the waitresses saw. She insisted that I try the food in the restaurant. One of the most delightful surprises of my trip.
I loved seeing the oldest church in Kyiv. Very beautiful. I do love so much, historical architecture. I also loved the beautiful flowers (semi-wreath) in your hair. It's a lovely look & cultural tradition. I love the pink, but my favourite colour is yellow. I'd love to wear some pale yellow &/or lemon, cream and white flowers. The varying colours would make for ideal photo opportunities. I've seen many women, from varying European and even some non-European countries, wearing similar head wear, during their national costume, or cultural festivals, etc;.
Ricotta cheese, black tea with ginger and lemon!!! OMG! I can't believe that there's somebody likes what I like! Enjoy your meal, Alina... and hope to meet you -one day- in Toronto!
I am going to short-term missions in Ukraine Thank you for letting me know about Ukrainian culture when I go to the Rehabilitation Center there for volunteer activities.
Really i love yours video Alina!! Next month i am going kiev for work and i willstay 2-3 months.Because of you , i LOVE UKRAINE so much!!! Regards from Athens ,take care and keep going perfect video!!
The music of buskers is so amazing. Background music is representing your nostalgia and blues toward your mother land. You seem to be very sensitive. I had been to Uzbekistan several times and Kazakhstan once just for tour. I love the inherent emotion of the Slaves. Shashlik too. Wish you all the happiness.
Odessa is expensive this summer, or maybe I don't know where to eat. The place on top of mall , Kadorr Cafe above the Silpo market was great- stroganoff, potatoes, croquettes, under $14, as good as Beverly Hills. But Restaurant 24 was $30 for same amount of food. Prices vary depending on it seems, location & ease of access. I shop at Cosmos in Sady Potrbuye, never can get good meat there, neither at Silpo market- it is always "gamey ". And prices are high. I could go to Trader Joe's in LA and get good amount of food for a week at same price. I often to take Uber to go shopping. Cafe Venezia and 1794 are good restaurants on Derybyavska st. Good price. Irish pub across from them pretty sleep- $7 for a Guinness $2 for small Ukrainian beer
Thank you for sharing with us Alina. Another amazing and very interesting, delightful video. Of course I got inspired by your recommendation. Ukraine is a must in my future travel plans. P.S. That chocolate looks and I am sure smells delicious!

You are cute, even when you have a cold. That lemon and ginger tea seems to have done the trick. “All of the beautiful Ukrainian ladies wear that festive headwear” - Yes they do! Grab a mirror. And LOL, “Coffee is my Boyfriend”, Alina: “So true.” I absolutely adore your sense of humor, Alina. Hope you don’t mind a few comments about what a wonderful person you are. I know, they are nothing you haven’t heard before. So, here is something different. Thanks for sharing that tidbit about where your Grammy would take you to play many days - that’s an absolutely precious memory, I’m sure. Awh, Alina, you are just as precious! We so wish you the best.
I definitely enjoy your drone footage. I also see that you were wearing your new coat which you mentioned on your Instagram. I see you drank coffee using beans from Ecuador. Have you ever to Ecuador? I plan to spend a week in Ecuador early 2019 and I think the weather is going to be beautiful. It will be my 2nd time visiting Ecuador with my 1st occurring back in 1994. :)
Puzata hata baby! At least for an inexpensive traveler. Plus street food if you are starving. I'm here in Kiev, I'm not really sociable and don't speak the language very well. So that is my go to, unless I have a date. btw, I'm staying close to St Michaels church, which is not too far from your 'playground'.
Am starving now!.........would love to hit that coffee shop and then wander...........I will be there next Fall !........got my ticket (Business Class!).........gonna be an ADVENTURE! Thank You for your videos!!!!!

Доброе утро Aлина, Just found your video and wanted to give you a thumbs up. I'll be in Ukraine; Kiev, Zap, and Lvov next April, love the country and culture deeply. Know anyone who gives local tours? FYI, every time I visit Ukraine I seem to drop a few pounds; do you know if there are less GMO's or chemicals in their foods? I even seem to eat more food and have the same results. Paka, :)
Thank you! I haven't been on any local city tours, but there's actually tourist offices all around Maidan in Kyiv so you should have no worries with that. If you're interested in doing something outside the box, you can now safely go visit Chernobyl and leave on a tour from Kyiv. I actually did a video on it if you want to get an idea of what it's like. The company I went with was called Solo East Travel and I would highly recommend. Happy travels!
This popped on my feed. Such a beautiful city. So sad... I wonder if the guys on those underground steps are still alive. I pray for peace and freedom on this planet.
You like Ukraine and Russia. You show that they are suitable for tourists. Wonderful countries and people. From beginning reduction, - in all areas. Purification for body and soul.
