So, I'm 4 days from getting back on a 8k mile trip on one (2020 Spit Six). (UK to Nordkapp and back.) I would wager my bike is the CCM which has gone the furthest from home, with many countires in europe now ticked off (By its own steam), and clocked the most miles on it. On and off road. (Including a bunch of the TET) For me personally, I'll never sell the bike, I took it from the factory (I picked it up from their place) with a bunch of my customisiations, and realised I needed to make many more to make it mine, and make it do what I wanted to do. I've custom made luggage systems, redone many electrics on it, and reworked a bunch to make it more hardy. I would not recommend the bike to anyone who wants to put it in a display case, or to someone without the willpower to play with it and repair a few things. I would reccomend it to anyone who wants to mess around with it and make it theirs. I've made mine into a tourer. Is it the most effective tourer? Hell no. Is it a very unique tourer that can smash back road and gravel? Yes. Do I love riding every minute of it? Yes. Have I ran out of fuel on it? A few times and now always carry a fuel bag with me on long trips. Is there anywhere I wouldn't ride it? With the exception of motorways no, the engine, suspension and drivetrain eat up everything. It is an odd bike, and I won't claim it is the best looking, some hate it and some love it. The only thing that matters is I love it.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan They aren't a Triumph, Ducati or KTM, and won't bring with it the views they may. Hi kedwardsTwo. It's nice to hear a honest review from an owner. I've got a Bobber and have travelled across the country on it several times but would love to speak to you about your touring options. I've had a few ideas but nothing quite suited. My plan for the future is to do a leisurely tour around Europe with some friends, so an improved luggage option would help. Cheers Dan
A far too expensive parts bin special that has limited appeal to most people IMO. I just don't get the appeal. Old tech engine of dubious quality. Resale values are also very poor I suspect. Buy at your peril.
What I've manage to find is that they have used Rotax, Suzuki and Kymco engines. No idea which is in this one but those three don't sound too dubious to me 🤷♂
in Canada CCM is a hockey skate...for my taste the lines on this bike are wacko...wheel base way too short...seat way too high over the rear wheel...a hot mess really.

So, I'm 4 days from getting back on a 8k mile trip on one (2020 Spit Six). (UK to Nordkapp and back.)
I would wager my bike is the CCM which has gone the furthest from home, with many countires in europe now ticked off (By its own steam), and clocked the most miles on it. On and off road. (Including a bunch of the TET)
For me personally, I'll never sell the bike, I took it from the factory (I picked it up from their place) with a bunch of my customisiations, and realised I needed to make many more to make it mine, and make it do what I wanted to do.
Awesome! We loved the CCM’s! It’s a great shame that the videos were not watched by as many people as we usually attract.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan They aren't a Triumph, Ducati or KTM, and won't bring with it the views they may. And as much I would encourage people to try one, they aren't for the vast majority of riders in my opinion. Much like electric bikes they devide the viewership.
I agree it's a shame you havent had the uptake you would like, but at least you got to ride a few great machines.
Cheers Dan
@@flowerdjf if you search on Reddit for CCMBikes you will find a small reddit I. Made. I have my luggage system shown on there.
No idea which is in this one but those three don't sound too dubious to me 🤷♂
What's not to like?....they tick both the ugly and the expensive boxes.IMHO.
And probably a poor resale price 😮
in Canada CCM is a hockey skate...for my taste the lines on this bike are wacko...wheel base way too short...seat way too high over the rear wheel...a hot mess really.
How would you compare this to the Triumph Bobber?
Its significantly more character, handles better, sounds better, gets more attention. The Triumph Bobber with the larger engine of course would be quicker on motorways and at higher speeds 👍🏼
Can't think of anything better for b roads and country lanes what a class act
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Hmm..Ive had a Triumph bobber Black for 4 years and I have also rode the CCM and I wouldn't say handling is better, its a matter for personal taste.
I'll keep my shovel
You know what would be a great comparison video! The CCM Bobber and the Husqvarna Svartpilen. I love the looks of the Svartpilen and the 401cc goes faster the the numbers say, as you mentioned about the Bobber.
A very polarising motorcycle, bit like marmite 😊
Must be one of the most ugliest bikes ever made.
@@stevetop5970 what do you think is a good looking bike?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I would say the royal Enfield interceptor, the hunter and also triumph 400 scram are all good looking motorcycles. I do like your channel, but I hate that awful looking machine.
@@stevetop5970if you get the chance, ride one, phenomenal.
Is the motor made in China?
I don’t think so, I think it’s a very well known and reliable European engine with a long heritage in off road bikes.
I had two dead hands within 20 mins of riding one of these due to vibration. Personally a big no.
@@markdrummond7 Really ?? I toured Europe on mine. Perhaps the issue is your hands 🤷🏻♂️
🤗
They sound horrible. I know it’s personal taste but when you rev them out , the racket they make is not pleasant. If you live in the country around horses and dogs and stuff, the noise would do my head in. It’s simply not an attractive sound.
Make sure you watch Tuesday’s video on the Maverick! You’ll hate it even more!
You don’t need to rev them out- they’re a big single so the fun comes from low down.
Clewes Competition Machines, of Bolton. Not my sort of thing. Looks like something which a circus clown would ride around the ring on. Where is the back end? Noisy and anti-social It's a shame because CCM obviously have the technical competence to produce a quality bike. Make something which looks nice and isn't aimed at the wealthy hooligan.
damn thats what we are calling a shitbox 😅
@@nusso007 Says a man who’s never ridden one🤔
It's never seen a bobber😂
Sorry guys but it is pretty well known they are basically a ‘parts bin’ special with poor owner reliability reviews. I love the brand but it’s not ‘made in Britain’.
It’s made in Bolton Lancashire, and they are amazingly reliable. This lump is so simple there little to go wrong. I’ve got a 2018 scrambler and it’s been exemplary.
What a load of rubbish. They’re hand built in Bolton using high quality components & material and are utterly dependable.
You trash em, but somehow love em? 😅
They are assembled in England. Only the frame is made here and the one person I know who has one has returned it twice because of rust on the frame.
@@jamiewhite-fk3kwyeah,i know someone who has one and the frame had to be resprayed!
What and who's engine is it!!
If it's the same 601cc unit as in their Spitfire then it is an ex-Husqvarna design. I think SWM also use it but no idea where it is made.
@@stephenmundane thank you.
Its a swm engine made in northern italy. This motor is also in the AJP 7r which is an excellent machine.
