    Reminds me of scuba diving with my Dad beginning in the 1960s. Some of the best memories of my life.

    Love Tessa's comments. :) High Beam in Low Vis is only good at an angle into the dive path.

      Hello Pacediver, OrcaTorch make some great lights. The only issue we have found with them is there is no service centers for them.

    Hey Brian, do you ever worry about shore power electric on the docks when you dive? If the dock has power do you turn it off before you dive? Thanks, and love your videos!

      Hello joe johnson, this is a concern that we worry about. Thankfully, we have never encountered an area that was undivable.

    Awesome recovery dive team 👏🏻
    Just a note: You can't use any 18650s...only ones that have the built-in USB charging feature, because standard 18650 batteries will be too short and not reach the electrical contacts inside the light tube.

      @LakeHickoryScuba  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Jonnie Bangkok, and thank you for pointing that out. Some of the USB 18650 batteries are longer than others.

    I’ve heard arguments from people that the twist lights can come on unintentionally (especially backup lights) as pressure increases if you don’t have it loosened up enough, but then you have the potential of loosening it too far snd flooding it. That’s one reason I’ve thought about getting a button style light. Why do you prefer the twist type, less maintenance?

      This argument has happen to me several times Caleb Mcelhaney. This is why I prefer one that has 3 o-rings.

      Stay Tuned. We try to make all of our videos educational. One benefit from doing it this way, is others can learn from others. When viewers go and read the comments, they can learn from other viewers on just how easy Scuba Physics can be.

    How much do you charge for a search and recovery like this?

    • @LakeHickoryScuba
      @LakeHickoryScuba  3 года назад +1

      Hello Steve, rates are dependent on location and resources. They can range from $25 per hour to $200 per hour. This is per diver as well.

    It's actually not that uncommon for people to go do a search and recovery dive and plan everything apart from what they are going to do with the phone/camera/wallet when they've found it. Even divers don't generally keep a boltsnap on their wallet so you can clip it off.

    • @LakeHickoryScuba
      @LakeHickoryScuba  3 года назад

      I can't speak for all divers, just for my self. I always have several bolt snaps laying around.
