I wish they made switching from education license to hobby easier. When my education license ended I tried to switch but it only offered paid plans so had to make a new account to get the hobby one
While some of these tools are amazing and very advanced. My favorite CAD is solvespace. Yes, there are some limitations, but it just meshes with me well.
Bro please make the industry wise cad software mostly used Example: in automotive it's catia and nx Similarly for home appliances, medical devices what respective cad software is used?
Didnt know Solid Edge is free! Since solidworks isnt. Great Video!. What do you think about autodesk inventor? I believe its very similar to fusion 360
@@Docstantinople blender works well if you use the cad plugin. Other than that, as long as you use any of them it should ve nice. I reccomend you try them all and decide which you like best Take this from somebody who have used all of these 3d modeling softwares comprehensively. The only difference in them is the vibe for you. In every industry there is companies that primarily use them and all of them can do what you ask. That being said, blender 3d, and to part freecad, allows for direct mesh edits so you need to know the basics of at least one of them in combination to whatever other cad you decide.
Not every university provides SOLIDWORKS for free. There are student offers. Cloud version for $30/year and $50/year for desktop. Those are 50% discounts I believe. So it's originally 60 and 100 respectively
@@sazokuotsutsuki8848 students can acquire a sponsorship, this is especially easy if the student is partaking in a robotics team like VEX or FRC. students should not have to go through the university for a license and instead can go directly to solidworks

I run a CAD vs CAD tournament every saturday - you might dig it - Livestreams on my channel (last weekend was SolidWorks vs Inventor)
Most paid cad software is either free or greatly reduced for students. So take advantage while you can.
I have fusion 360. One can get a free version if you say you're using it as a hobby. Just a few less features, whoop!

But solid edge is not related to solidworks at all?
is solid edge community edition available for Mac?
I wouldn’t recommend blender for 3D printing functional parts
Would your recommend fusion 360 for 3D printing?

How useful is fusion 360 in getting a job?
Bro, what do you think about Catia V5? Yes, I am talking out of the context of this video.
Catia is very capable particularly for surface modelling. Great for aerospace and automotive design with complex surfaces.
thanks !
Great vid
I'm currently using Inventor Pro for robotic designs, I've been thinking about switching to Fusion 360 but I don't see much differences 🤔
Is inventor pro free?
Double CAD XT on top
Thoughts on spaceclaim?
then what about soild works
What do you think of Plasticity?
Never tried it but doesn't seem suitable for engineers😅
@@EngineeringGoneWild For some Engineer that loyalty to Linux.
sorry, why Solidworks is not on the list ?
I use it , actually it is not good software
Its not freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
solid edge community is free only if you are in a company
Incorrect... I'm using it as an individual, they even approved me for free online training with Siemens Xcelerator Academy.
who tf uses solid edge. Onshape is by far the best (def not biased).
But actually tho Onshape and Fusion are the top 2 by a mile.
Free cad no es usable
Why not solidworks though?
Solidworks is not really free
But how to download these software
