This scene will forever be a classic, epic moment in tv history. I remember watching this episode the night it aired brand new....me and my sister were screaming laughing....we loved this so much!!!!
Rudy (Keshia Knight Pulliam) just kills in this number ... they all were great ... But she us so adorable. Always loved her acting on this show ... and so young ... Classic TV moment this scene was ...
Really? That’s who the female lead was? Thank you so much for that information! Her voice has so much strength that her impact brings even more brilliance and impact to a perfect song. Sorry if I come off as naive, but I genuinely never knew who she was. I’m so grateful to know now. I’ll definitely do more diligent research and find out what else she’s done in her lifetime. I just can’t get over that soul and emotion she puts into this one song. Just incredible!
You know what? I was always a fan of Bill Cosby. It broke my heart to find out he did the things he did. The Cosby Show was, is, and always will be one of the best shows on television.
Agreed. Cosby betrayed his fans and his community by preaching one thing while doing another. I will still always respect The Cosby Show for its wholesome television fun, but it's very difficult to watch Bill Cosby himself these days.
@@Musicienne-DAB1995 I know exactly what you mean... I grew up watching the Cosby Show... Cliff Huxtable was one of several TV father-figures that I actually looked up to, even though they were just characters. But it's hard to look back on such a wholesome show and know the truth. But I don't think the truth blemishes the legacy of the TV show... the show stood on its own merits.
Approximately 53 million people tuned in to watch this iconic episode, rated #54 on the Top 100 Sitcom Episodes of All Time by TV Guide magazine in 1997.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how "FIIINNNE" Ms. Phylicial Rashad a.k.a. "Clair Huxtable was back in the day?! A mother of 5 kids, one in college, a lawyer, and a wife of a pediatrician! After having 5 kids, still had Body to bring Men to their Knees!!!
1:28 my mum showed me this scene and man when i saw bill cosby making those faces while he is singing night time is the right time by ray charles i can't keep a straight face i literally burst out laughing he is a classic bit upset about the things i heard he done i didn't think he would do a horrible thing
I remember watching this when it first aired on tv. My own folks' marriage was in the doghouse and I loved this show. It was a safe space. How rotten to find out the lie that it was for Lisa Bonet and other women who were in this man's sphere. What a >>>> thing to do.
The Cosby's gave me HOPE of a good life in AMERICA. I LOVED THIS SHOW, and Black people should be so proud of this portrayal of WHAT LIFE COULD HAVE BEEN without the INFLUENCE OF DRUGS (ILLEGAL that are now legal) and GUNS. THANK YOU COSBY FAMILY! IT "IS" A BEAUTIFUL DREAM!
Or perhaps what life would be like with more two-parent families, which would better protect children from drugs and guns, both of which are sadly not new.
Not ALL Black Americans were affected by drugs, guns, violence, poverty, incarceration, unemployment, uneducated, bad interracial marriages, etc. ONLY about 32% of Black Americans were affected by the horrific “PLAGUES” of America. The remaining 67% are middle-class, upper-middle class, upper-class, and upper-upper class and we are doing just fine. Our families are wealthy, suburban living, mansion owners, college educated (3+ generations), privately schooled, sorority/fraternity legacies, generational wealth, vast portfolios, property owners/investors, married with families. We are the American Dream!

Yes! Jail the prostitutes who blamed him for them not getting paid. I listened to many of those women and got disgusted. They knew what was happening and kept going back...Why? Because they wanted paid one way or another. It doesn't matter if it's $1 or $1000, if you expect something for sex you are a hooker. Hollywood is known for it.
0:49 can someone tell me her name please she is so adorable and hilarious I know she is lip syncing to the song but I bet if she sang that part without lip syncing I totally bet she would have done very well 😂😂😂

I agree!
Little KNP was truly cool, as was Malcolm...she stole the show but he had the bannister slick goin' on!
I was just thinking the same thing
I still remember this. Smh. Classic.
Exactly 😊😊
Anyone else wish Grandma & Grandpa Huxtable were your grandparents?
You're not the only one!
This scene is what introduced me to Ray Charles music when I was in my early teens ... now in my 50s and well and truly a Ray convert!!!
Had Ray Charles lived long enough and been able to see,I think he would have found this interpretation of his song endearing if not amusing
This scene will forever be a classic, epic moment in tv history. I remember watching this episode the night it aired brand new....me and my sister were screaming laughing....we loved this so much!!!!
Wow what a memory that must have been!
Me too! I loved it so much!
TV was once a whole lot of fun.
All these years later..Mar 2021, this stands as one of the best moments in television history.
I'm in March of 2022 and I agree

That's acting! You see how much the grandparents love their family and how much they loved.
RIP Earle 'Grandpa Huxtable' Hyman.
I got him and Richard Grant mixed up. I thought Richard played the Grandpa. But I looked it up. It wasn't.
Margie Hendrix. What a voice!

The facial expressions toward the end kills me 🤣
I was one of the lucky ones that got to watch this as a child and always remembered it. What a great scene. Rudy kills it
I love how into it Denise was! She looked like she was having the time of my life

Rudy stole the whole moment in this Clip . I laugh my A## off at Cliff at 1:35.
Right! Look out Margie Hendrix!
I remember the day I saw the scene. It was during Christmas vacation while I was in preschool in 1995.

They was getting their LIFE in this scene, DOPE!
Glad to have grown up in a time period where I was exposed to this with many others.
I remember just about peeing my pants laughing at this scene and I was about 8 years old.
I almost peed my pants when Theo came down those stairs lip syncing! Lol
I love this show since I was kids. This my favorite show n performance they did
My Part is When Rudy do the Baby Part
Still so good! hahah!
With that little snaggletooth 🤣🥰
This makes me feel loved and happy
Rudy is so cute!!
She was such a doll. And trying so hard to be a big girl on here.
the fact that she's missing 2 teeth, is what makes it even funnier. she did the best performance.
Theo is doing it!
Thanks..... Oh, you didn't mean me? Sorry lol
Good Memories.
I love this scene!!
I had such a crush on Lisa Bonet as a teenager. This is still hard to watch!!
One of my favorites
I love the Cosby show ♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️♥️❤️❤️
Funny Family😂💜😜🎶😁👏
Childhood memories...📺
I bet this scene is most popular. I didn't even know Ray Charles sang this song up until now.
He’s one of the all time greats in black music. So diverse. His Seven Spanish Angela’s with Willie Nelson will blow your socks off!,,,,,
@@lindacollins6939. Not solely in black music though.😌
Rudy is so cute and funny
These were always my favorite episodes when they did the lip sync for the grandparents. ❤ 🎤 🎶

I swear, I’ve watched this twice; it’s hilarious 😂
For those who grew up in the '80s, when MTV actually showed music videos, take this thought:
Before Milli Vanilli, there was The Huxtables.
This was the best.
Happy Birthday to Cosbys King Malcolm Jamal Warner ( Theo)!❤
One of my all time favorites
Classic!!!!!😍😍❤❤
Bill and his facial expressions

Happy Birthday to Bill Cosby aka Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable❤😂❤
I wish Ray could've seen this performance.
Well, we may safely assume that someone told him about this scene in ‘full colour’ so to speak, so in a way he probably did.😌
I love this!!
This is one thing NO one can ever take away that's a man's Pride one of the best episode ever!!!!!!

That would be dope but I doubt the grandparents are still with us
Rudy was cute in this. Unlike Olivia went way overboard with the cutesy poo & then would say something way to adult a few minutes later,
