I like using the bastion cover because if you get broken g phones and pcbs at the right price, there is a Mechanic lvl 2 barter that can get you a Burris Fast Fire red dot for free or super cheap. And I really like that red dot, though the Kobra isn't bad either. And I completely agree, the Ratnik is super under rated. Thanks for this video bro, really helps build a decent kit for someone with gear fear who doesn’t use anything decent or auto and quits the game. I can make money via Scav loot run usually.
As far as AK74 N vs M goes the M does have better base stats and the bastion also has slightly better stats so that 10K extra ends up buying you -3 recoil and +2 ergo which isn't that bad. It's definitely more value than getting all the 3K +1 ergo attachments on the 74N. It also lets your run any optic you want so if you have some optics sitting in your stash you might even be cheaper off by not having to buy one at all. So I do think there's a good case for the 74M as well tbh.
I prefer 7.62x39 PS out of an AKM (can be crafted in hideout from scav VPO-136's) to 5.45X39 PP out of an AK-74N (can also be crafted for the cost of one weapon part, you should mention this). Flesh damage on the PP round is simply too low which leads to scavs sometimes tanking too much, which in combination with the ammo being over 3 times more expensive makes the total loadout cost considerably more expensive which I'd rather spend on a bastion + a nice optic for the AKM. The dove tail cobra feels too smudgy for me.
7.62 is definitely preferrable against scavs, but I find the 5.45 variants to be preferrable in PvP. The recoil control means you get that much longer range to go for full auto where the 7.62 variants are restricted to single shots. Having that much more DPS available at a decent range I find myself coming out on top more in PvP with 5.45 than with 7.62.
@@DiViNiTY1337 Not a massive difference in recoil when you mod both the same way. AK-74N is lower ofc, but deceptively so. The AKM works fine full auto up to ranges where you probably should tap with both weapons.
Am I the only one who seems to realize dust covers offer ergo and recoil bonuses and the Bastion is really great bang for buck recoil and ergo item for AK's.
Great info thanks beef , I really want to get back into this game haven’t played for a wipe but I just am so terrible at aiming and recoil control I can only rat around in the shadows .
~300k is the optimal cost of a good loadout. Any less than that and you're usually sacrificing things that would either help you survive more or get out with more loot. Unless you're a total newbie, don't focus too much on super budget kits. A bigger bag and better armor are worth the extra cost. The berkut is literally the bare minimum acceptable backpack size for a PMC and the ratrig although cheap, it's a fairly shitty piece of armor. It's heavy, has barely any space and has bad ergo debuffs. If you're going in with a kedr or sks, then ok it's fine to also use a budget armor. But if you're going to spend over 100k on your weapon, don't cheap out on a good backpack and armor.
what do you recommend for bare minimum class 4 armor? with the added whiskey to the mmac barter and I've still yet to find any sewing kits in raid it's hard for me to justify
The AK-74N can also be crafted at the workbench, with weapon parts easily obtained by breaking down Scav VPO-209s, it makes this kit even more budget minded. You'll have to replace to stock too, in order to keep crafting using the same parts, but considering you're taking the cost of the weapon out of the equation, it pays for itself.
Tips for newer players. 1) Run the best gear you are comfortable with losing. I say this because there's not always a guarantee you will survive every raid. If you die expect to lose it. 2) Loot everything you can see if your bag is empty. Never leave a raid with space in your rig or backpack. Empty space is a loss of roubles. Anything is better than nothing. 3) Get familiar with 1 to 2 maps at a time until you are comfortable getting around without a map on your phone or 2nd monitor. 4) Utilize the discord servers that are out there. If you are scared to play alone you can easily find people to play with. 5) Enjoy the game. Don't let gear sit in your stash because you're afraid of losing it (gear fear) it's just pixels. You can always get more gear.
Dont sleep on the PP19 pistol grip. Better than stock AK grip and cheaper than most other grips and can be taken from Saiga's, especially as they're on many more scavs
Also remember Scav Backpacks can be crafted in Lavatory for 1 MBSS, 1 Fleece and 1 water for 2 scav backpacks. Water can be bought from Therapist, Fleece can be crafted from caps from Ragman and MBSS are cheap, decent barter or pretty regular on scavs
Nice video, really good advice I will definitely use it. The only disagreement I have is how much time you spend to get the best investement, its not worth staying in menus and flee market playing with numbers instead of going out there and having fun. It's only digital money you will lose after a few month anyway, you should enjoy them. Your video video inspired me to have a plan on my progression, I am level 15 still with low gear and i feel a little behind. With this loadout i will be more competitive
Level 2 Ragman has the F5 Switchblade backpack which is more or less the smallest I will run as soon as I get it unlocked. He also has the Gruppa T20 which has 25 slots instead of 30, but it's only 10k cheaper (43k vs 53k) so I find I don't feel like it's worth it when just the five slots themselves could pay for the entire backpack, much less the price difference.
Cost of an AK-74N is basically one weapon part, don't know why he wouldn't mention that here. Same with the AKM, you can buy Vepr-136's from fence for 15-20k or off flea and convert them to new AKMS.
I still watch your videos even though I don’t actively play Tarkov and I’m really worried about new/low-skill player retention just from loadouts. 80k + around 70k of extra gear is like… 1-2 loadouts with the starting cash. People keep telling me to gear up but this is why I don’t.
you can earn 500k or more in a single raid if you get decent rng. A good loadout's job is to get you through several raids, not for you to go in and die with it. My end of wipe guns cost 500k+ to build usually, this is peanuts.
@@domagojgalekovic8507 that’s another thing I never understood. I did all these money runs and barely made out with anything 90% of the time, either with bad RNG or dying. I’m either severely unlucky or I’m at “please uninstall this game” levels of bad.
I'm using this AK74UN build + Tier 4 and I'm fuckin loving it right now bro!! For the first time I can at least be semi-chad and run up on people like Landmark. I killed 2 CHADs in Reserve and it was such a rush actually having a decent repeatable kit besides an SKS and PACA every raid lmao.
I generally skip car kits and buy ifaks off the flea. Car kit is roughly ₽11,000 and ifaks can be had from ₽10,000-13,000 on flea depending on the time of day. I check back when I’m playing and will buy cheap ones in bulk
As for backpacks I now use takedowns; they have a strange shape, but only the biggest armors like a Tactec don't fit; besides that it's 24 slots, so 4 more than a berkut, it costs only 34k on the flea, and nobody loots it.
Honestly what the majority of tarky peeps need to get better is a few simple factors..... Consistency in weapons ammo and team members is a big start. Avoid bouncing teammates find a couple guns u like and can afford and kno what your ammo choice is for flesh or pen
Also as far as pvp tips go is simply kno the spaws and hot routes you'll be able to engage or run on your own terms instead of stomping around blind or crippling paranoia
About ak74n. Yeah 10k more but AKademia Bastion is -1% recoil and jaegers ekp is 1 extra ergo because its -2 (optic) +3 (shade). edit: if people are willin to pay 3k for a CH for +1 ergo then I bet they are also willing to pay 10k for -1 recoil + 1ergo aswell.
I run the rat rig nonstop but I actually don't like having stomach protection. With how low durability armor is, the stomach is just more real estate for them to hit and shred your armor. I'd rather have a blacked stomach than a zeroed armor imo
I ran meta 101s last wipe. They fire but if you’re fighting more then one guy your fucked with the 30 round mags. No room to suppress or push while shooting.
Not sure if I just missed it or not, but if you don't have Mechanic 2, you can barter for the 4.1 MLOK for a single USB A. They were going for 4100r last night.
I highly suggest running any other AK than the Krink class aka 74u, for some reason these guns have insane bounce to the right and left compared to any other ak so dont buy em unless you got nothing else.
Imo I don't think you should ever use dovetail mounts on the aks, the bastion is super cheap and is well with it considering it gives the negative 2 recoil
i mean , i use the same build once without even watching these videos cuz u just had a few parts that u can buy .. :D i mean , u use the most efficent parts .. its very simple but its good for people playing her first Wipe
i like using RPKs because you usually will get them for under 50k on the flea while still having 100% durability ill just slap on the DS150 stock the zenit DTK1 and the RK-4 on and its got really high ergo and really good recoil for like 90k only downside i guess is that you dont skill your assault rifle skill missing out on marginal recoil reduction late game lol
There are actually one "issue" RPK is light machine gun and it's only one in his class, so basically it means in long run you loosing recoil control (leveling up machine guns skill), because other type of weapons presented much more.
For close range yeah I think 56A1 is better because of the damage and you don't get THAT much from 40 pen vs 37 outside of distance, so yeah the damage is pretty big. 101 is good, Scar is good and MDR are good.
Not sure if i'm missing a quest or something but my skiier is lvl II and doesn't offer the RK-4 yet. I just tried other stuf though and the Mod 3 from mechanic is 5.5k rubles and seems like a decent replacement.
Good spot - you get 3 ergo and 3 recoil for about 17k between the stock and the PT lock, not sure if that is worth it tbh. On the borderline, up to you :)
Dunno, to me the Ak74u was subpar compared to the purpose designed pp19, if your going to run a submachine gun platform why would you want an ak's recoil. I honestly never tried to pvp last wipe but ended up running the 74u in US ammo just so the gun wouldn't kick around so much
5.45 PP and BP just work well enough to pen class 4 and it doesn’t have the shortcomings of longer rifles for dorms/reserve PVP, PP19 imo is really rough this wipe
@@DisgracedAero most of my 35 kills have been pp19 this wipe, it's still extremely good early wipe imo. the recoil changes have made it a better full-auto choice until people get traders leveled up
74U is a problem with no dovetail though - the bastion doesn't fit so you have to use the special mount, but need Mechanic 2 to do that. Then you can only fit micro optics, it's an option but changes the build quite a bit imo, I don't like sights that are further forwards either
One thing I don’t quite get, is why bother using that grip that only provides 2 recoil reduction? It seems like a minuscule change that isn’t worth the money. Is there something I’m missing?

I remember when crafting one of those they came with a full mag of BP. Ahhh those were the days.
@@danielrobertson2154 Yep. Free ammo is always nice.
I do the fiddling for you, then people can do it without spending as much time as me :)
my man is a content machine
:)
The strange metal part on the baby AK was the rear ironsight; it's built into the dust cover
Great video again! And a comment and like for the great work and Algo. Dont stop the run, you will be big!!!
Thanks!
something i really learn with pvp on tarkov is that a 45 mag could save your life rather than a 30mag and is dont that expensive like a 60mag.
Only problem is the mag size, depends if you want a small CSA which can be good for budget, or a big rig like alpha if you are not so budget.
@@D3enjoyer i was talking using csa o bank robber if you survive can fentch the mag nobody loots them
You can craft the Ak74 super cheap with weapon parts in an infinite loop.
Cost of an AK-74N is basically one weapon part, don't know why he wouldn't mention that here.
Same with the AKM, you can buy Vepr-136's from fence for 15-20k or off flea and convert them to new AKMS.
I'd rather craft wires though, it makes like 50k a craft
As a krink main I approve this video
@@SakuyaFM4 try interchange cache runs, they net around 200k a raid with flea. it's a good starter for money runs
1:58 pretty nice build
Also for the lasers and lights, i use the BALDR because its available at lvl 1, its quite a bit cheaper than other flash/las
Good to hear! Worked well for me so far :)
I generally skip car kits and buy ifaks off the flea. Car kit is roughly ₽11,000 and ifaks can be had from ₽10,000-13,000 on flea depending on the time of day. I check back when I’m playing and will buy cheap ones in bulk
Only issue with the IFAK is it can only heal 50 per go
daaaaaaaaaaaaamn, that was some poggers pvp there at the end
Thank you so much for making stuff in soft a lot easier to understand.
As for backpacks I now use takedowns; they have a strange shape, but only the biggest armors like a Tactec don't fit; besides that it's 24 slots, so 4 more than a berkut, it costs only 34k on the flea, and nobody loots it.
The main reason I avoid the Scav BP is not the red patch, it is the stupidly high dry weight it comes with.
So simple and detailed video, it's now going to help to start working wid softsoft!!
The new dropping the gun noise scare the shit out of me everytime.
Fair. But I don't buy the charging handle :)
I run the rat rig nonstop but I actually don't like having stomach protection. With how low durability armor is, the stomach is just more real estate for them to hit and shred your armor. I'd rather have a blacked stomach than a zeroed armor imo
Great video. Helpful and too the point!
Best kept secret, ak-101 + m856a1 (workbench 2) is ak-74N on steroids and the base stats of the ak-101 are insane..
I ran meta 101s last wipe. They fire but if you’re fighting more then one guy your fucked with the 30 round mags. No room to suppress or push while shooting.
1:58 Nice x2
One thing you can do if you dont have roubles is take a sks or vpo with a 4x to rogues and get a kit to use.
Not sure if I just missed it or not, but if you don't have Mechanic 2, you can barter for the 4.1 MLOK for a single USB A. They were going for 4100r last night.
Ah yeah I put it in the build in the desc, not the vid tho
I highly suggest running any other AK than the Krink class aka 74u, for some reason these guns have insane bounce to the right and left compared to any other ak so dont buy em unless you got nothing else.
They're good in CQB, otherwise use the 74N or M as I said :)
another banger vid from the man!
Appreciate it!
I always keep a grizzly in the gamma if possible. For extra heal, split and bleed
Bro, I've been winning a bit on factory, shit, leg meta ain't a joke.
Imo I don't think you should ever use dovetail mounts on the aks, the bastion is super cheap and is well with it considering it gives the negative 2 recoil
Literally my kit. I used that krink build yesterday. Ez
i mean , i use the same build once without even watching these videos cuz u just had a few parts that u can buy .. :D i mean , u use the most efficent parts .. its very simple but its good for people playing her first Wipe
Thank you for the video very well done!!
i like using RPKs because you usually will get them for under 50k on the flea while still having 100% durability
ill just slap on the DS150 stock the zenit DTK1 and the RK-4 on and its got really high ergo and really good recoil for like 90k
only downside i guess is that you dont skill your assault rifle skill missing out on marginal recoil reduction late game lol
This is the way. Killa cosplay
There are actually one "issue" RPK is light machine gun and it's only one in his class, so basically it means in long run you loosing recoil control (leveling up machine guns skill), because other type of weapons presented much more.
Great video, only problem that this game wants you to only play bolt action guns. Can't wait for prapor 3 so i can craft 366 ap
So...do you recomand the Ak-101 build or the Scar/MDR build for Lv 20-30 players? you mentioned the advantages of M556A1 VS BT
100% scar/mdr, 20-30 you should have peacekeeper lv 3 unlocked at lv 23 and he sells m80 which is a budget round and 1-2 taps through lv 4
I just tried other stuf though and the Mod 3 from mechanic is 5.5k rubles and seems like a decent replacement.
fronk see gigabeef video
fronk click gigabeef video :D
gamma is so op early wipe. with standard you have less than half the space. you have an entire hospital in your gamma + docs + ammo to spare
Yeah, its a huge advantags
soft just keeps getting better
Very nice title!
Thanks!
I actually enjoy 5.45x39mm now this wipe. I loathed the caliber the past few wipes.
quantity is a quality of its own, oh and dont underestimate the psychological effect of full auto early wipe :D
Hey gigabeef can’t you buy the pt1 stock from skier lvl 2 for the aks 74 or is the pad better?
Good spot - you get 3 ergo and 3 recoil for about 17k between the stock and the PT lock, not sure if that is worth it tbh. On the borderline, up to you :)
They massacred my boy the mmac
They sure did...
I prefer to use bastion top cover on all my AKs and then swap the kobra for a better sight found in raid.
Is it true, tho?
Is there a test showing that balaclavas actually work? Because they're pretty light now, compared to before.
I rarely go in equipped like this because I die so stupidly all the time
The outside PMC had 4 lights on the gun with HP ammo? Already running meme kits ? :D
Lights are cheaper than good ammo.
He was going hard XD
would you recommend any 5.56 builds now with the buffs?
AK101 is pretty good if you craft M856A1, but tbh for the effort I'd just use the 5.45 at the moment.
legend
Dunno, to me the Ak74u was subpar compared to the purpose designed pp19, if your going to run a submachine gun platform why would you want an ak's recoil. I honestly never tried to pvp last wipe but ended up running the 74u in US ammo just so the gun wouldn't kick around so much
5.45 PP and BP just work well enough to pen class 4 and it doesn’t have the shortcomings of longer rifles for dorms/reserve PVP, PP19 imo is really rough this wipe
@@DisgracedAero most of my 35 kills have been pp19 this wipe, it's still extremely good early wipe imo. the recoil changes have made it a better full-auto choice until people get traders leveled up
Little trick, the 74us that are N or B variants have less horizontal recoil, and the Bs have even less. Make sure to use those.
Gssh best headset in the game fight me
The real problem is the chads huffed up on stims, half the time that's a bigger hill to get over than the armour.
keeping dorms clean out of the bathroom.
why doesnt he sell the mormal aks-74u for you? 11k roble difference in price is pretty bad, just for the dovetail mount in my opinion.
Can just get the cheap ergo grip instead from PK if you want, just trying to add up the small benefits we have access to!
