Please tell me they will be scrolls speed options in settings please make sure to make the scroll speed for all battles consistent based off your settings and possible skin options to change note shape
Hey, there's a bit of an issue every now and again where the game freezes up briefly during battle causing you to miss several notes, probably want to look into it, and perhaps an optional stepping stone enemy between the klaxon and the training dummy?
I may have just realized that the klaxons have really crap damage and that their spike in attack pattern difficulty is mostly just to harass and attempt to bully you, that's kinda fitting to be honest
I remember I had an idea for this kind of battle system back when I was real little, but I had zero programming knowledge to make it a reality and eventually forgot about it It's so cool to see someone make the game I dreamed of years ago a reality! Genuinely such a good idea for a battle system, and executed in what seems a flawless manner
Everything about this game's sound design is satisfying to degrees I never thought possible. Every single menu option feels like part of the beat and it all just feels so rhythmically inclined.
If I had a nickel for each Rhythm based RPG/RPG with Rhythm elements in it that I know of, I'd have three nickels. One for this game, another for Mother 3's combo system, and Everhood for the last one.
I just played the demo and RAHHHHHHHHH THIS GAME IS SO GOOD RAHHHHHHHHHHH unironically the combat is so fun and engaging, the timed turn system makes for a hectic but strategic gameplay experience.
Saw this in my recommendations, downloaded the demo within 15 seconds, beat it on the challenging difficulty, and now I’m just WAITING FOR MORE For YEARS a rhythm rpg has been all I’ve ever wanted, combining both of my favorite genres, and you did it. +the dialogue and story is great, it all just flows! If I had to give one Criticism, the final battle of the demo lacks the build up I think it needs, it’s kinda just like “oh this is happening now I guess” but that’s just constructive criticism. I absolutely love this as a musician and a rhythm gamer. You got everything right. I hope this project goes far, I’m paying for it as soon as it comes out.
wow how have I never heard of this it kind of reminds me of one of the games FUNKe described in his "games I'd make if I knew how and they were easy to make and they were profitable and I actually wanted to make games in the first place" video this looks like so much fun! and I love the style!
Came across this on my homepage and I love it so much!!! Idk if anyone else has suggested this yet but I think it’d be a cool idea if each party members attack was them playing a different part of the song, that would be really cool :)
I think it would be better if attack sfx wasn't just a drum sound, but had sound based on instument (guitar with guitar sound, synthesizer with synthesizer sound and so on). Looking forward for this project!
Found out about this game about 30 minutes ago because of this video and I just finished playing the demo, and I gotta say, this game is GREAT, the songs are really cool, the combat system is very interesting and I really enjoy how it forces you to make quick decisions, I enjoyed the little secrets that were scattered around and how different weapons actually change the inputs needed to attack, overall seems like this has HUGE potential, already wishlisted and will definetly buy when it comes out. Best of luck for you and the team!
This is awesome! It like ff7 where the faster you menu the more you can attack, and its like Paper Mario / Mario and Luigi where you can time attacks / defending!
DAAMMNN this shit looks siiiick looks like lots of fun One suggestion tho, i think it would be cool if each party member has their own specific instrument sound when doing a basic attack instead of them all sharing the same cymbal sound -- Yellow does keyboard chords, Red shreds it on the guitar, and Blue mixes up some drums and cymbals -- that way each of the party members will have their own distinct identities from one another in the game's sound design instead of all feeling too much the same, and you know sound's the most important thing to have in a rhythm game. keep it up!!!
YO I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT HOW THERE SHOULD BE AN RPG WITH RHYTHM GAME MECHANICS LIKE FIVE MINUTES AGO AND THEN THIS VIDEO POPPED INTO MY RECCOMMENDED
I love when rhythm games move across genres, Mad Rat Dead being a Rhythm Platformer and now we have this really cool Rhythm RPG, can’t wait to see the full product!
Not having played the demo, but just looking at this video, this seems like an absolutely fantastic concept! Huge fan of how the phases of attacking and defending are split up in real time in tune to the music, but I think my biggest concern is that depending on how often you expect players to be engaging in combat on average, the defense sections seem to go on for a little too long for what seem to be regular encounters. Might want to consider cutting down on those by a few seconds (like 2-5 maybe) if these are even a semi-regular occurrence because you start to run the risk of these becoming a bit too repetitive for sequences that forcibly take you out of the action. Still worth reiterating that this is an absolutely fantastic concept that has a lot of great work put into it, and I'll definitely try the demo out when I have time for it!
Oh this is a wonderful video! This is a game too?! WHHHAAATTTT?! Like, I love how you've seperated the attack and defense stages. Attacking being a loop that you throw some beats on and the defense being lioe guitar hero is wonderous! I feel like tossing in that maybe some specials can have some rythum minigames to them too? That might be fun to play around with!
After i watched this, i tried the demo instantly. And that intro was so cool! Combat was super engaging, chaotic, and fun, with the music sounding astounding. Sky’s fight was really cinematic and epic, and I’m super excited for whats next in this game! Also, Lou supremacy
Just completed the first breath and I would say that's an amazing game! The combat system works really well in terms of balance and time-managment. The battles are good and hitting the notes never felt more responsive, yet playing from keyboard I couldn't get the parries going well until the last battle, it's easy to see the game was more developed for console controls in mind. And the final battle was a little short. I needed only 2 turn loops to win which felt a little quick, but otherwise it was fine. Also I couldn't help but to remember the first Boss from NSR when going up the scene to DJSS. The music is an A B S O L U T E B A N G E R. Really felt that undertale\mother games vibe going. There's not much to say except you absolutly nailed it (I will listen to the theme of woods for eternity now). The artstyle is amazing too. Though the world feels a bit more Undertale (it really looks like Waterfall and I love Waterfall) with it's simple pallete of colors and patterns(and it looks great), but the talking sprites are way more detailed, which is a pretty intresting thing that kinda gives it's own vibes. The whole plot is a great idea too, the ring system is a good trope that always felt right in these kind of stories (can't wait to see what other rings look like outside). For the demo it's plenty of events and details scattered around, the "star" theme is also a good one to rock around too. I also have a nitpick about the map. Is it possible to make it scroll a bit faster? Because I didn't even really used it with the zoom out feature being around. That's about all I wanted to say about this little game, that I hope, will grow into something way bigger!!
My only gripe is I hope lower level enemies take much quicker to beat, as many encounters spanning this long may get tiring. BUT OVERALL I LOVE THIS, WHATTTT
Some immediate feedback, great simple trailer I already wishtlisted it but the name is kind of hard to remember or figure out how to pronounce I put chordroid and chordiode in before getting it right. Not saying you have to change it for marketing and lore reasons but can you include somebody saying it at the start and end of videos so it is memorable because the brain cannot guess how to pronounce it and hence cant memorise it
Potentially a recommendation, make the hit sounds for the characters hits similar to the instrument they are holding? EDIT: Aswell as the selection sound being a Cymbal..? it's a little too much of the Cymbal lol Keyboard - Keyboard note, maybe a Chord Guitar - a Strum Drum stick - could use the cymbal or different Drums or both etc. I know it is a Demo so maybe this is already fixed, but this is just a suggestion as for people to not get tired of hearing the hit sounds
amazing, just finished the demo and it's amazing, its actually kinda good that my osu skills and guitar hero skills didn't copy over too much into the game lol I did have a problem with strumming for a while, didn't know what to press for a few battles lol, got it eventually tho! i really like this idea and style for a rhythm game, its unique and overall just fun to play, it's hard to find unique rhythm games to fuel my brain with nowadays, I'll be keeping an eye on this game for as long as my brain will let me remember! if you ever need anyone to help with programming or art, I'll gladly offer some assistance, im fairly new to Godot tho(coming from unity lol)

why game wont start?
The Stardust Speedway Present siren and vocals was not something I was expecting to hear

Was a pleasant surprise
Always glorious
I must say, a "quirky EarthBound-inspired RPG" is the PERFECT aesthetic to have a rhythm battle system.
I mean, mother 3 had rhythm bonuses to attacks so it’s kind of like if that became the main mechanic
@@ochuspin True; that part of battling in Mother 3 is fun. Or at least it would be to me if I had the means to have no input lag.
@@quillion3rdoptioni also had that problem. The rhythm battle mechanic sounds so fun without that input lag

The attacking on the beat reminds me of how Mother 3 works but just better
Absolutely incredible. This looks amazing! I’d love to play it if it was a full game!
