I used to be in Ravenclaw but the high ceilings & open space got to me (I always had depth perception issues & poor balance) so I transferred to Hufflepuff. But I still love Gothic windows as much as ever. Just not under a HIGH ceiling.

For me, this scene is the Marauders 💖 the library has been kept open late for older students as they have their N.E.W.T exams coming up. Remus Lupin is particularly stressed as he missed the last few days recovering from the full moon. He has dragged the rest of the group to the library to revise. He’s tired and has the beginnings of a headache, but the chocolate frog Sirius has just given him is helping.
Remus is focused, head down, quill scratching. Sirius is bored as hell. Flicking through a random book he’s pulled off the shelf that is an illustrated guide to wrongly brewed potions. All the illustrations are grotesquely detailed, but there’s morbid curiosity as he flicks through the pages. He pauses, nudges James and points to a drawing of the effects of mis-brewed Skele-gro; the man has a few too many limbs, in a few too many places.
Peter is desperately flicking through his poorly taken notes (he wishes he had taken them better earlier in the year. Why does he never learn?) So far his revision has stretched as far as asking Moony what he wrote and stress eating his supply of Zonko’s sweets.
James is (reluctantly) studying. He’s always in a foul mood when it rains (and it’s been raining for days.) Despite the late hour, all he wants is to be down at the Quidditch pitch. Periodically through his revision, he stands, under the pretence of finding another book (only to walk through the library to where Lily is sat revising with Marlene and Mary to shoot her a smile or levitate a sickening love note over to her.)
I’ve listened to this so many times. I love it, it’s honestly so perfectly relaxing. I wish everyone here a lovely rest 💖✨ stay safe
