How Generative AI Large Language Models Will Change Industry Logistics

"The large language models and generative A.I. allow (you) to form a technology where you can interpret data and then you can leverage machine learning to produce an output.
So, for example, if a customer is requesting an invoice, or pricing, in the form of text, then the A.I. can essentially spit out that information.
I think it’s going to be one of the biggest changes that we're going to see in the industry.
I don't know, if it's unfortunate or not, but I think we're going to see the greatest disparity in terms of, you know, people who adopt these technologies.
That's going to increase the amount of people who are able to leverage it - and to take advantage of it - and grow their business.
And there's going to be people who are kind of laggards and don't take advantage of it, and they're going to kind of fall to the wayside. So it's going to be interesting to see how it plays out.
An example that I always think about - I built a tool recently that could respond to an ETA update.
So if a customer says, 'When is this order going to be shipped, or delivered, or picked up?'
It could respond (if it had access to the database).
So there's a lot of these manual tasks that people are doing that's, you know, not really value added.
So an average dispatcher can process, let's say, 8 to 10 orders per day.
These kinds of tools are going to allow them to process 50, upwards of a 100, per day!
So it's going to be a really interesting space in the next coming couple of years." #ai #llm #logistics
