Becky, I just want to say you should be a teacher because you are probably one of the best people I have seen on RUclips to teach me several different things! You are AMAZING!
I’m am so obsessed with these tutorials, your instructions are so spot on. I must add that your voice is so relaxing and makes the learning process much easier. I just want to thank you very much.😊
Thank you for sharing , so much information on your videos! When you complete your design in silhouette, do you have to save it and print elsewhere? Or are you able to print from silhouette to the epson printer?
I've watched so many of your videos this week! Thank you for all the help! My printer will be here Monday and I am super excited to get started! I feel comfortable doing so thanks to your video! You're the best!
I just found you and I am learning so much from watching you. I am new to sublimation but I have had a Silhouette machine for ever and still don't know how to use it to it's fullest. Thank you!!!
Becky, this is a great video. I do love your instructional techniques! I’m a newbie to all of this but love sublimation! I bought a Cricut and have been using DS for my sublimation projects, but it seems like SS is much more robust. Additionally, it seems like you don’t have the restriction of printing size like ‘print then cut” in DS. I’ll be watching many more of your SS videos as well!
Great video I love then all! question on a cameo doing a print and cut what the size for sublimation design i have a cricut so does the cameo print bigger
Hi Becky, love your video’s definitely feel more confident. I’m having a little trouble though, when I send my project to print it makes the font really bold and blown out?? I don’t know what to do, do you have any ideas for me please 🙏🏼
I wish some1 would make a video showing what you do after make the design. Will the bluetooth pick up to print from printer? Cause I know normally you would choose cut settings. How would you save image and can you save as a png from design studio? I am confused on the printing part after get image ready. I just noticed it has a print selection lmbo. Is that what you go to to print from sub printer?
Do you need to save your work to a specific file type to to be able to print? I created a mug wrap with 2 png files. Can I just print it without saving? How would I save it for future use. I only have the basic silhouette software
This video was great and easy to follow. Can you explain how to print from Silhouette. I’ve never done sublimation on my own and am contemplating a printer purchase. Thank you.
Hey Amanda! It is super easy to print from Silhouette Studio, you go to File, click Print, then choose your printer. You can modify your printer setup if you are using a wide format printer and a few other small changes (I use Premium Presentation Paper Matte with standard quality). It seems more difficult that it is, it's just like printing on your home printer. Hope this helps! ---Becky
How do you get fonts from Font Bundles to Silhouette Studio? Also purchased Fonts from Silhouette Design Store with glyphs and do not have option with button to utilize glyphs. You are great! Love your channel.
Hey Karen! Don't worry, I have some videos for you that will help with the glyphs, but to be honest, I'm not sure if this applies to fonts purchased from the Silhouette Design Store. As for getting fonts into Silhouette Studio, all you need to do is install on your computer (after downloading, find the fold, unzip it, then you can right click on the font and choose "Install for All Users"). Then restart your software. Hope this helps! ---Becky ruclips.net/video/CsMXcLeLPaA/видео.html
Hey Sandy, I do print directly from Silhouette Studio using an Epson printer. So I print on Premium Presentation Paper Matte and Standard quality. Hope this helps! ---Becky
That came out so vibrant. What kind of sublimation printer do you use? Lots of files I would like to buy say they are in RGB color so will they print vibrant like yours? Thank you
It was printed on an Epson printer that was converted into Sublimation. You will want to check your color managing profiles to ensure the greatest results.
Hi Erin! My apologies, we do not have a direct link for the pouch but I've found a similar one for you here: www.amazon.com/Pieces-Transfer-Cosmetic-Sublimation-Toiletry/dp/B099F7X56 - Dawn 🙂
Good morning Becky, I am new to sublimation and I have a question I purchased a design from Etsy and I am bringing it into Silhouette Designer plus bit when I drop the imagee the wording turns red
Hey there! You do need a special printer and ink (or you can purchase pre-printed sublimation transfers). But other than that, you can use a heat press or Easy Press. Hope this helps! ---Becky
New to sublimation here! My ink just came in. How were you able to get the white outline on the letters to transfer? I thought the printer couldn’t print white lol super cute design!
Hey Bree, it works on this design because I'm pressing on a white background. I created an offset around the words and filled it in with white, so that part was left "blank" for the white of the bag to show through. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Correct, unless you are saving as an image. But I'm a visual person, so I always change my lines to transparent, it makes the colors more accurate to my eyes. Thanks for watching!!
Hey there! For this video I was using 4.2.279 I believe, the Business Edition upgrade. I've since upgraded to 4.3.341 and like it also. The features are very similar between the two, luckily, so I didn't have to learn too much (wink). Thanks for watching! -Becky
I am wanting to get into sublimation (I have only done HTV using my silhouette, so I’m lost!) I want to buy a sublimation printer but I don’t know where to start, what printer to buy, etc. Also, how did you get your design from silhouette studio to a sublimation design? Do you just screenshot it and then print it from the sublimation printer? Please help! Do you have a step by step video on how exactly to do sublimation? Lol
Hey Cait! I have a few videos you can check out on Sublimation, but to answer your question, you can print straight from Silhouette Studio to your sublimation printer. A sublimation printer will work like any other, just go to File and Print and it will show up as an option. I'll link some videos here, it's our beginner Sublimation video, our printer comparison video and then a designing video that may help too. Thanks for stopping by! ---Becky ruclips.net/video/Ns7macGAKwQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/9C_RJr6lzoE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/UU2UFsFMO9o/видео.html
Probably a silly question- how did you get the 2 intersecting lines across the whole work space?? Sorry new and on the struggle bus. What does convert to path mean/do??
Hey JB! The intersecting lines are called Crosshairs, they are in your Page Setup Panel under Grid Settings as long as you have Designer Edition or higher. Also, I'll link you to a video on Compound Paths. Hope this helps! ---Becky ruclips.net/video/ZABdAoCrZhY/видео.html
HELLO, I AM TRYING TO FUR A FONT IN A IMAGE THAT IS I COLORED IN AND ALSO OFFSET SO THERE WOULD BE A HIGHLIT AROUND THE LETTERS. SO WHEN I DO THIS I LOSE THE CUT OUT IN THE LETTERS ( IN A P THE CENTER ) THEY ALL COLOR IN. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG. IS THEIR A VIDO. THANK YOU I LOVE YOUR VIDOS SO EASY TO FOLLOW AND VERY HELPFUL
Hey Diane! You may need to explore Making and Releasing a Compound Path. It sounds like your Compound Path has been released and needs to be recreated. Hope this helps! ---Becky
PS.....Becky, if I’ve missed it in any videos, sorry, when you print with your sublimation printer, is it just regular copy paper you use or is it special paper? Also in another video when you printed, the paper was really large, are there special printers for sublimation that print this larger sized paper?
Hey Karen! I do print on sublimation paper although you can use copy paper in a pinch if you are pressing right away. I print on an Epson WF-7710 that prints wide format, which allows me to use the larger size paper. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Wow thank you, can I just ask how do you get your colours so perfect, my colours do not come out nice! They tend to be different than the original image itself🙈
Hey Marie! So glad you enjoyed the video! I do find that my colors come out darker once pressed than on the screen, especially any type of bright or neon color. What I recommend is printing a color chart and pressing it on a spare piece of polyester fabric, then you'll have a better idea of how the color will come out after pressing. Also, depending on what printer and ink you use, you may need to install a color profile on your computer. I would check with the ink and machine manufacturers to see if this is necessary. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
Good evening, been watching lots of your videos. I’m just getting started with sublimation. I hear a lot about shirts need to be polyester. Can they also be 50/50?
Hey Toniette! They technically can but your prints will be very faded after a few washes since the ink only adheres to the polyester fibers. I don't recommend lower than a 65% poly count. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I’m curious, how does one get store credits in Design Bundles that you refer to in many videos? Is it a monthly “membership “? How do you have such a high balance of $209.20?
Good question. You can purchase store credits in intervals to get the savings, but my store credit is from being a designer and selling designs. I believe you also earn store credit if you are an affiliate and use links to recommend DB products, although we don't do that here on the videos and of course I use files from all different designers depending on the product. Hope this helps clarify! ---Becky
Hey Gina, you are correct, you need a few special items for sublimation. I'll link my beginner sublimation video below in case you want to check it out. Hope this helps! ---Becky ruclips.net/video/Ns7macGAKwQ/видео.html
Do you have to pay for the app? If so which is better? Business edition or designer edition? Im very new. So new I get my printer and ink monday and Wednesday
Hey Ciji! You only pay for the app if you need to upgrade to Designer Edition or Business Edition. We have a video here that may help. If you are new to sublimation, you may not need to upgrade just yet. Hope this helps! ---Becky ruclips.net/video/ybTdAgu7b5s/видео.html
So do you have to make the outline on the font to transparent on every design? I keep getting a blurry image when I heat the mug with silicone sleeve over it. Thanks for explaining and for the slow process I am getting familiar with design studio and sublimation both at once...i have ruin 3 mugs.
Hey there! No you don't have to change the line color to transparent, the red line won't actually print, it's more for the visual appearance. I would check and see if you can tighten your sleeve, a blurry image makes me think you need more pressure. You definitely have your hands full but I'm sure you'll get it in no time! Hope this helps! ---Becky
Okay, I’m sure you said this but want to be clear, when you purchase from design bundle the design saves so it can be used as many times needed for as long as needed?
Hey Brittney! You are correct, you can use it an unlimited amount as long as it meets the other criteria under the licensing. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Mandi, I created an offset and filled the offset with white. What that means is that the white from the bag underneath was able to come through in the design, no white ink needed. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Wow, that is soooo cuute! I’ve had my silhouette machine for a week. I’m new to all of this. I have made a t shirt but sublimation is scary. How does design bundle work? Do I pay for each design or do I pay a flat fee? Thanks for this video.
Thank you! I definitely recommend focusing on one or the other (Silhouette or Sublimation), then we can focus on combining, but they go great together when you get to that point! Design Bundles has both options, you can purchase bundles (which are a fantastic value) or you can purchase individual designs. You can also check out the Plus membership where you pay a monthly fee and gain access to a ton of designs that you buy with credits. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Claudia! Fortunately there are a ton of sublimation bunny designs to choose from on Design Bundles if you're not quite ready to make your own just yet. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Why is my text not dark black when I create my own text in silohuette, do I need to copy 5 times and stack together, to get darker black? Or is there another trick?
Hey Paula, if you text isn't sublimating a true black, it may be that you need to press at a higher temp or a longer time, I think black is more sensitive to variation than colors. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Rebecca! Any soft blanket made from polyester will work for Sublimation. I've actually heard of a few crafters finding them at Walmart, but I honestly haven't searched for a baby blanket in years, so I'm just not sure. Good luck on your search! ---Becky
🤔. Something is wrong with me. I think too much or something. So sublimation is my fav because it actually becomes part of the shirt or bag etc. I just can’t imagine how you can do that with printer ink and a heat press. I wish I could feel that bag and see if it has the same material feel or if you can feel the imprint. Interesting. I’m just thinking out loud. Sorry.
Great points! Once the sublimation process is done, it is absolutely absorbed at a fiber level, you can't feel it at all! The ink becomes a gas and is the absorbed by the polyester. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Jessica, I save my PNG files straight from Silhouette Studio (Business Edition upgrade). It gives you an option to adjust the DPI, but there are limitations as it's not a true graphic design software. I do not have any complaints with my file quality, BUT if you really want to get into designing, most artists use Adobe, I believe. Hope this helps! ---Becky
My colors don’t always come out correctly (mostly red comes out orange) when printing from silhouette, what advanced color settings do you use? ICM has corrected the red but I have one design that the blue comes out green! Help!
Hey Claudia! I haven't had any issues with my red or blue coming out so far. I'll see if I can research this for you and let you know what I find. What printer are you using? ---Becky
I should note that when I design from Silhouette and print, my colors come out great. It is when I use a design I buy from Etsy or somewhere else that the colors don’t print correctly
Hey Leona! You can set up your file in Silhouette Studio, check out the Page Setup panel to make sure you set your page size correctly. Then go to File > Print and select your printer. You may want to check the printer preferences to set you paper size and then I switch my paper type to Premium Presentation Paper Matte. Then just print. I get great results. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hello Marcee! There are many choices based on your budget. I personally use an Epson, but Sawgrass is typically more dependable and considered plug-and-play.
is the actual designing for sublimation different than designing for anything else? or is it just the printing of the design that needs to be specific to the sublimation i.e speacialty paper/printerik
Sublimation is only different because you don't have to worry about cut lines and such. It seems different to many Silhouette Studio users who are used to designing files for cutting instead of printing. This was just a real quick peek into being able to use the pattern fills and using basic shapes. Thanks for watching! -Becky
Have a question... I just installed silhouette studio basic to try it out. I’m not seeing my EPSON printer in the available printers list. I only see printer which I assume are sold by silhouette. Just wondering how you’re doing it using an EPSON printer. Thx
Great question! My Epson printer shows up just like any printer I have installed on my computer. Have you connected your Epson to you computer before? ---Becky
Not a dumb question at all Marissa! Any image that you can print, you can use for sublimation. The file format limitations would be more set by your software. So for example, in Silhouette Studio, you can import PNG and JPEG images, but PNG will be preferable since most of them have a transparent background and can be easily overlapped to create compound designs. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Becky, i downloaded a design and paid for by etsy, PNG file, will not transfer full design and representative states silhouette studio is for cut only not to design for sublimation, when i downloaded over 100 designs and sublimated and only utilize silhouette studio, need your help with this. Its wording and a rainbow in the background, the words transfer but the rainbow does not.
Our apologies for the delay in response and we hope you've found the answer but if you are still having any troubles, please feel free to write in to mail@designbundles.net or join us in a live chat so we can help with your next project! - Brittany
Thanks for watching!! This bag in particular was purchased from Michaels. You can find things to practice on at almost any general store (socks, microfiber towels, polyester fabric by the yard). However, there are a lot of dedicated Sublimation vendors that sell only sublimation items and have very good quality.
Yes, absolutely!! Here's a video that might help answer some questions, but you can print from Silhouette Studio without any extra work, it's straight from the program! Hope this helps! ---Becky ruclips.net/video/U_aXLOZ1D1Q/видео.html

Thank you so very clever and now I have some great ideas ahead.
Glad we could help! 😊
Great video I love then all! question on a cameo doing a print and cut what the size for sublimation design i have a cricut so does the cameo print bigger

Awesome instructions... thank you so much.

Did you print directly from the silhouette? What is your printing setting?
Hey Sandy, I do print directly from Silhouette Studio using an Epson printer. So I print on Premium Presentation Paper Matte and Standard quality. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Becky!! How do I get back my Ctrl+arrow shortcut to duplicate??? Help I pushed something and it started just moving my item instead of duplicating 😭
Which version of silhouette do you use? Not the basic version I assume since you have a bunch of features?
Thank you for the step by step!! It’s not confusing at all! 🙌🏼
Yay, that's great Dezi! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! ---Becky

In silhouette you don't have to make your lines transparent, as long as the line weight is 0 it won't print and as a cutter program lines default to 0
Correct, unless you are saving as an image. But I'm a visual person, so I always change my lines to transparent, it makes the colors more accurate to my eyes. Thanks for watching!!
Thx Becky learning so much from you!
Hey where did you purchase your bag?
Which silhouette design edition are you using?

Why do you not want to use the teflon?
Do I have to save image as png or worry about dpi if I’m creating from scratch in silhouette?
Hi Margaret! Yes, if you are printing an image for sublimation, it does need to be a PNG file and the recommended DPI is at least 300! - Dawn

---Becky
I’m curious as to what the two lines are for in the middle of the popsicle
Great question, they are just decorative to mimic the look of a popsicle. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Love it!,
So what if I want to do a bunny n do something like this..can u help..
---Becky
What type of blanket would u recommend for baby blanket sublimation
---Becky
Can you explain how I can save these as a great quality of 300dpi to sell digital files?
Hey Jessica, I save my PNG files straight from Silhouette Studio (Business Edition upgrade). It gives you an option to adjust the DPI, but there are limitations as it's not a true graphic design software. I do not have any complaints with my file quality, BUT if you really want to get into designing, most artists use Adobe, I believe. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Love this
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed!
---Becky
@@DesignBundles I am using an Epson 16500 eco tank
I should note that when I design from Silhouette and print, my colors come out great. It is when I use a design I buy from Etsy or somewhere else that the colors don’t print correctly
Did you print on sublimation paper?
Yes. ☺️
How did you print it
You will print it with your sublimation printer, you can click print right from Silhouette. 😊
I'm totally new to Sublimation and was wondering how do I print from my silhouette studio?
---Becky
What is the best printer for sublimation?
Hello Marcee! There are many choices based on your budget. I personally use an Epson, but Sawgrass is typically more dependable and considered plug-and-play.
Design Bundles thank you
@@DesignBundles so a printer?
This is wayyyyyy out of my league.
is the actual designing for sublimation different than designing for anything else? or is it just the printing of the design that needs to be specific to the sublimation i.e speacialty paper/printerik
Sublimation is only different because you don't have to worry about cut lines and such. It seems different to many Silhouette Studio users who are used to designing files for cutting instead of printing. This was just a real quick peek into being able to use the pattern fills and using basic shapes. Thanks for watching! -Becky
So you have white ink for sub?
No, but if you use white fabrics, you can subtract out part of the design to allow the white to show through. Hope this helps! ---Becky
i love it-
Have a question...
---Becky
@@DesignBundles hi, yes, my printer is connected to the wifi network. Maybe I need to connect it via usb.
I’ll try that. Thanks fir the reply!
Im sorry, this may be a dumb question but What kind of image file formats (like png, jpeg) can you use to sublimate?
Not a dumb question at all Marissa! Any image that you can print, you can use for sublimation. The file format limitations would be more set by your software. So for example, in Silhouette Studio, you can import PNG and JPEG images, but PNG will be preferable since most of them have a transparent background and can be easily overlapped to create compound designs. Hope this helps! ---Becky
@@DesignBundles yes it did..thank you 😊
Hi.. what type of sublimation paper are you working with?
Hey there! I use DyeTrans and A-Sub Sublimation Papers, depending on the project. This one in the video was A-Sub.
I THINK I GOR IT THANK YOU
Becky, i downloaded a design and paid for by etsy, PNG file, will not transfer full design and representative states silhouette studio is for cut only not to design for sublimation, when i downloaded over 100 designs and sublimated and only utilize silhouette studio, need your help with this. Its wording and a rainbow in the background, the words transfer but the rainbow does not.
Our apologies for the delay in response and we hope you've found the answer but if you are still having any troubles, please feel free to write in to mail@designbundles.net or join us in a live chat so we can help with your next project! - Brittany
Good video thanks
Thanks Jessie! ---Becky
Hey. ❤️.
What ink do you use?!
Hey L D. I use InkXPro from Amazon. Thanks for watching!
Do i have to pay to get silhouette studio in my mac?
Hey Vielka! No, Silhouette Studio is a free software unless you decide to upgrade to unlock additional features. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Lovely video tutorial! Can I ask where you got the cute bag?
Hey there! I grabbed this at Michaels on a fluke, and I love it!
where do you recommend the best place to get poly blanks
Thanks for watching!! This bag in particular was purchased from Michaels. You can find things to practice on at almost any general store (socks, microfiber towels, polyester fabric by the yard). However, there are a lot of dedicated Sublimation vendors that sell only sublimation items and have very good quality.
What version of Silhouette are you using?
Hi Amy!! I'm using version 4.2.279. Thanks for watching!
So can I use the software if I got a cricut machine
Yes, absolutely!! Here's a video that might help answer some questions, but you can print from Silhouette Studio without any extra work, it's straight from the program! Hope this helps! ---Becky

How did you get your sublimation printer to print white?
Hey Tammy!! No white toner here, the design is just set up to show the white of the bag 🤩 Hope this helps!!
@@DesignBundles oh ok Thank you😊
I’m trying to figure out how to print white words to a blue shirt can anyone help ?
Hey Ed, you would need a white toner printer or use heat transfer vinyl (or screen printing). Hope this helps! ---Becky
I like this video but you left out the actual printing portion of it :(
You didn't talk at all about set up for printing the image :(
Great suggestion, we will add it to our content list!
