To say "Thank you!" for your time is an understatement. I have sat at my computer and printer all day trying to make this work. You have answered every question in great detail. I just printed my first successful design. Thank you!
Hi Debbie. Just a tip that I don’t see or hear a lot of people doing is I always check the print preview box. That way I know for sure what my image is going to look like before i print and i can choose cancel and then fix what ever is wrong before printing the final transfer. This tip has saved me soooo many times.
My comment is not just for sublimation printing, but the Epson printer color setup changing color black to greenish on "Glossy premium settings". I just tested to print "Premium matte" settings on a glossy vinyl paper and the black came out black. I found an article about Epson printer settings that suggested a glitch on Epson glossy settings. Yup, it is not a clogged printhead, the paper type, or the 3rd party ink-- it is the Epson software! I am printing on Studio software that is why I'm checking your video. I hope it help some of your subscribers though.
That’s good to know! When I was testing I agreed the glossy settings weren’t very accurate at all. Premium Presentation Matte and High Quality Plain Paper are my go-to, depending on my substrate or how ink-heavy the design is. That would be nice if Epson would fix that though! Maybe we would have more options to get even better colors if those were viable.
Hi Debbie, I am using an Epson 7720, printing from Silhouette & use Cosmos ink also. Exactly how or where can I print these color charts testing my printer? Might be a stupid question but I'm new to this. Thanks in advance for any help. Debbie
If you click through to the blog post you can download the color chart I used: debbiedoesdesignco.com/blogs/posts/sublimation-choosing-the-right-paper-setting-why-it-matters
ok so i have no idea what I am doing. i did all the basic settings for my epson to sublimate but when i went to print a photo the eyes are like fire orange and the hair is like fire orange as well. also the pics that have green in them the green ends up being blue. can anyone help?
@@DebbieDoesDesign I have the Bell on so I get your videos pretty quick. I went through on my printer and used your video to set it up. It is also a WF 7720. I haven't done any printing with it yet but with your help it will be ready when I do. Bye the way, You must have spent a fortune on ink, paper, and blanks. I really do respect people like you that take the plunge into entrepreneurship. Thanks again. Best of luck to you in everything you do.
Terry Demie thank you! I print my tests on smaller scraps (these were 4x6”) and the ink really isn’t bad. I just figure if I’m already taking the time to figure something out it should be shared to help save someone else the extra work and it kind of snowballed into this fun little adventure haha
I am soooo glad I found your You Tube Channel! Here's something I hope you can help me with. I've been printing my heat press inkjet designs from my Silhouette to my Epson WF7210. It's been working great....until today. My registration marks are barely showing up on my printout from my Silhouette, as well as the lines on my doodle letter font that I'm using. Yes, I have plenty of black ink installed, and heads have been cleaned. The black is actually just showing up fine in the design. When I print it out on my everyday printer for invoices (just to try it out), registration marks are fine....but when I print on my Epson, design looks great.....just very faint registration marks....any idea what might be going on?????
If your print nozzle check isn’t printing all the lines, you’ve got a clog somewhere. This video should help with that. ruclips.net/video/2sNtZwTs01c/видео.html
I am using a MacBook with cosmos ink and I do not see any of these settings you have. Any idea how to get these settings on MacBook? the print box we have is very basic. Our colors are not consistent. We use Affinity Designer and Silhouette studio. CMYk designs in Affinity designer
paul no you need to have the printers divers installed. If you installed them and they’re still not showing up, go the to list of printers in your settings and remove the printer and add it right back. That usually solves the problem.
Great video, very informative. My major issue solved simply by checking ICM. I too thought it had something to do with the internal printer color handling, so always had it unchecked. I'm finding my prints come out darker. Do you lighten your designs up before printing them?
pixelbat thank you! No, I don’t make any edits to my designs before printing them. You might need to do a test and try a different paper setting. I have another video on my channel showing the differences the paper setting makes.
In Silhouette Studio it pops up with a preview, but there should be a continue, next, or print button on that screen (I don’t have it in front of me, but some sort of button to go to the next screen) then the print dialog should come up. At least that’s what it does for mine. If it doesn’t pop up, you may need to look at your preferences window and see if there’s a setting for that.
Hi Debbie. I’ve used your settings since I purchased my Epson WF 7720. I had to purchase a new computer last week and when I connected the printer, all of these options to set my settings for printing are not showing up. Can you help? This new computer is running Windows 11, if that helps. I'm assuming my printer firmware updated :(
Go to Epson’s website and search the model number and download the drivers for it. It’s called the combo-package installer. It will give you all the extra settings it should have.
Nathan Reed I have in past testing settings but not during this one. The higher quality settings had crisper details so I don’t bother doing anything less anymore.
Same as shown in the video, except I use the High Quality Plain Paper setting for sharper images. Premium Presentation Matte puts down too much ink for mugs in my experience.

I didn't even realize there was a print preview option! But you're right! Thanks for the tip!

Debbie, you said you have different settings for mugs. Can you share what you do differently? Thanks
I use High Quality Plain Paper at highest quality for mugs.
What happens if the additional advanced options under print preferences is only giving the options of layout and paper/quality??
Krystle Proctor did you install the software? All the options won’t show up unless you do.
Install what software? I downloaded the Silhoutte Studio My printer options is same as hers :/

Hello, when I click on print, the only thing that shows up is the print preview. How do I fix that?
Try this, when you're on the Epson printer software, on the bottom area, you must have checked show print preview. Hope it helps.
What software are you printing from?
Doing this to me too! Hellllp! Silhouette Studio 4.4

Would you do the same settings if you have a sawgrass 400.
No. They have their own print program you use.

If you are taking about clicking print on the new Studio software, you need to click print to go to the settings.
so when you select quality, is there a difference between selecting high and selecting more settings and turning the quality up? have you tested that?
Nathan Reed I have in past testing settings but not during this one. The higher quality settings had crisper details so I don’t bother doing anything less anymore.
Can you tell me your print settings for mugs?

Could you do a this demo with CorelDRAW ?
I’m sorry, I don’t use Corel Draw.
i click on the printer and it doest bring me to nothing like this
Have you installed the drivers?
