(SCREAMIGN, CRYING, THROWING UP) What are these shards on the ground? Oh wait, that's my heart 😭 IDK maybe it's his face? The pain in this voice at the very THOUGHT of hurting us?? Or maybe it's Everything??? But GODDD he looks like he's in agony here .🥺♥😭 "I'd never forgive myself for breaking yours" AHAHAHHAH 🥲 Hearing this after watching the _What happened to the man I loved_ scene with Ascended!Gale- hurts. It hurts SO bad haha 🙃
@@DeathlyDrained u can't blame her gale is perfect lol, if there exist a technology to bring gale to life no one would date a real person ever again i bet my life on it
@@DeathlyDrained AHHAHAH 😆 I do not disagree 😁 My first thought upon first meeting him was somewhere along the lines of “Oh no 😳 We’ve literally just met but I’m into _him_ “ and there was little doubt who my LI on my first playthrough would be 🙃😋 (until I added Karlach and Wyll to my party 😫 but that’s what other save files are for 😉)
Hmm, I'm currently in my second playthrough as a Durge. I kinda want to romance Astarion (again) because I have read it is special how they help each other... but I am really hesitating with Gale. I almost romanced him in my first playthrough (Tav). What to doooooo? 😣😣
I got the game for Astarion and stayed for Shadowheart and Gale. ShadowheartxDurge is amazing and Astarion has some really good lines too but not much different romanced vs platonic. But a romanced Gale….all I’ll say is he and Shadowheart are the only ones who will love you if you were a worm. Or illithid in this case.
I romanced Astarion my first durge run to see what all the fuss was, I rejected Gale in order to do it, and I still regret it. It wasn't worth it for me. I finally romanced Gale the run after that and asides from getting Karlach's steam achievement I've only romanced Gale ever since then. Astarion may have a few more lines in a couple of places, but if you're feeling chemistry between your durge and another companion, follow it!
I've romanced both as durge and the dialogue for Gale is comparatively lackluster. Astarion's experiences/background lend towards him having a much better understanding what's happening and the two of them have thoughtful conversations and a deep sense of connection during durge's darkest moments. Gale on the other hand is more like, "wow, that's tough, be careful with that". Very disappointing tbh.
@@rynfri definitely not trying to argue here because I 100% understand where you're coming from, but just as a counterpoint to this for anybody choosing between the two to consider; I found Gale's normalguy responses to Durge's wild actions funny, and I enjoy the parallel between two people with very tangible god problems and something incurable inside them that is unpredictable and physically dangerous to their allies - especially since Urge's issues could also lead to Gale's orb killing everybody in a massive radius. It takes a lot of dedication to see that in your partner and accept it as a possibility, especially when you are someone like Gale whose original backup plan for his own problem was to run away and climb into a deserted hole so nobody else would get hurt when he dies. I do wish the game went over it more explicitly, but it's still there imo. Romanced Gale places a lot of trust and faith in Durge
Off topic, but I can't help but think of Gale whenever I hear Dreamweaver by Gary Wright 🥰

Romancing Gale as a Durge is fun 😁
