There is an option under rendering to get the transparent background. Please search transparent bg render in blender

If your "Render Layers" are not showing anything inside Compositing. It's because you haven't rendered the project yet. Press F12 and it will show :)

I wonder if this effects can be recreated inside After Effects using Blobbylize and CC Glass? but what about that isidiscent look?
Yes it can be you can use the texture overlay just like in this example
