This video is for people looking to get into paintball.
This is the advice I give to anyone interested in playing paintball for the first time, and joining the sport.

I bought a RAP4 T68 Blade from a friend a few months ago. I haven't used it yet, and I can't wait to play some woodsball. Unfortunately, New York City is short on paintball fields if you don't drive...
just started playing paintball a month ago. out in the field are some of the funnest memories with friends. dont be scared just try it.
my closest paintball field is 40.3 miles away, but iv'e still played on it. That's why i'm into paintball. My friend had a birthday and we all went to the field, now i'm hooked.

Racine, up here in Wisconsin. Breakaway Paintball. 50 dollars for all rental gear, including all day air, entry fee, and 500 rounds of paint. 7 bucks for every 100 rounds you need after that. They have 5 fields up atm as well, with another 2 on the way. Outstanding time, great people. Stop in if your ever in town! Even though its one hell of a drive.
Just started today i bought my gun today and went over to an indoor field and played some ironman with a proto rail 10 been watching your vids since i was 10 finnaly convinced my parents to let me order one. thx for all the tips
I started paintball not too long ago, and have noticed one thing that the very new people do-they never communicate, they just listen, and don't say a thing, but it's important in paintball to communicate. I just wish the new players knew that.
Where I live 10 entry w/all day air. You can bring certain types of paint and paint starts at 45. Southern Indiana
Yes. I am. Although the speedball players in my area have started a group field instead of driving 6 hours out of town to play at better prices.
two finger slap isnt very close. maybe a strong rubber band. it does vary though depending on the paint, distance, temp
I been overshot b4 hurts like hell but it was pump vs electro at10 feet I was pump and there's no surrender rule at my field lol
I started with a Tippmann custom pro, I'm very happy with it.
you're kinda right about the two fingers to the forearm unless you get too close or your clothes are tight. you should mention that people should wear a little bit looser clothing if they are afraid, also helps to keep balls from breaking
Another thing to remember for new players, watch the body language of team players, I play woodsball on a team, and we have an open door policy for any player, any team to come over and hang out with us. We welcome new players, and will sit down and show different types of markers, masks, pants, etc. to let them feel comfortable. It is up to us older players to keep this sport, yes SPORT, alive by getting the new player involved with the game.
I've played paintball a few times but never owned a marker, just bought an ego7, 68/45 crossfire, and a rotor in a set from a guy on PBNation for $550. cannot wait!

Players in my area here in So Cal are lucky to have 5+ fields in a 30 mile radius and lots of great stores.

@runinasics go with the 98 or an A5 from Tippman because they are low maintenance and all of their markers are very durable and perfect for woodsball and also modifiable for woodball because DP is a good company but if the marker fails you'll have to pay to get it fixed as for the Tippman markers are highly unlikely to fail and always ready for play no matter how long they've been sitting around
Get a tippmann over spyder. If you wanna spend another 20 30 bucks you can get an A5 Tippmann, comes with a cyclone feed, just make sure your using half descent paint.
He did a review on it a while back. Seemed pleased with it.

this guy knows his stuff, i got 1 feild one store, spyder pilot, but $25 for gun and all-day-play. then like $50 bucks to $60 bucks for a box of 2000 paintballs
ive been playing for around 9 months now and i feel that i am a very privileged player. i live in new zealand and the paintball scene is very small here with only 24 teams in the country (not just good teams). at field i play at every week end the best team in nz plays and a couple of regular players put a team together and trains for free every week for free(other than paint $80 a case) because the owner has been playing for 30 years and wants to see it grow in nz.
i like our field, i went to the field and watched and i was hooked, my field has some rlly nice rules to protect new players: ask for surrender within 10 feet stuff like that
the caase on my local field costs 20$ and it has 6 different fields and every Saturday there are free paintball lessons.
I love my Tippmann... (98 custom) ... Heavy but reliable. Just expensive to upgrade to E-Trigger, but again, so very reliable... I just gotta act like I can handle the weight on my hands and pockets!
same thing man, HPA is High Pressure air, Some people call it Nitrogen because the air we breath is actually around 80%-84% nitrogen. :) it's nicer for your marker and does not cause velocity loss as bad as Co2 in cold weather... :)

this is the first paintball video i watched all the way through.
you can go 2 like sport chalet or sports authority, just go to the scuba section and tell them you need an air fill. or just go to a nearby paintball store
I have ANS Gear, Critical Paintball, all the GIANT PB parks + 5 small parks. Gotta love California.
@xxfearable stick to it,make leaps not bounds i started off with a blackmaxx with a 9o co2 and a shake and shoot hopper,iv moved up now to a planet eclipse etha trust me start off small and make your way up as you get confident and start loving the sport.
you cant use a scuba tank directly on your gun, unless you like a 50 lb tank on your back. they are used to fill air tanks for the markers

Up here in Maine its like 18 for field fee with your gear 24 for rent, free air, $12.00 a bag and $45.00 for a case of paint. not that many fields but theres a semi-new Xball field they just added
At my field I pay $10 to get in, $80 a case. But if I go on Student Night (on Thursday) I get in for a non-perishable food item and weach hopper fill is $5!!!!! I love it.
look up your local facebook groups of paintball too, it's a good resource and lets you know lots of details and lets you in on games at private residences and there are good offers of used equipment often
another tip is to buy guns used...aslong as the source ire reliable, I bought my mini from a CXBL team owner for 200 canadian, its a gen 1, he threw in a boblong assasins barrel and replaced the spring and bolt, and it works great.

Its really good for the money. Personally, Id invest in something a little more expensive like an etha or axe but its still a pretty good marker.

my first gun was a g3 and now im in a team with my friends and i still use my g3 and love it on psp mode
nice job im not new hes right look around for fields, if your around Pennsylvania DE or MD borders in DE there is a2z paintball you can bring your own paint your not aloud to bunker(10 foot rule) and the owner gives you the safety rules for first time players its a rec field so you don't get beatdown by teams practicing, the regulars will go easy on the new players so you have fun. If you want speedball there crims capt carls and ecx field but theres teams that aren't considerate of new players.
it takes a long time to fill with regular commpersor it takes a masive supper charged compressor to fill a 4500 psi tank

@MrIAMRUSSIAN YES, its a gun in between speedball but leaning at woodsball. if your going speedball GET THE E GRIP OR GET YOUR FACE DENTED BEFORE SOMONES GUN DOES.speaking of you can customize everything in on around the gun. i would try to get skinny as possable or you will get out alot. start with getting a good hopper, thats what gets most people for tippmann, there is a small diamond shaped one. and last you might not like it for its wieght i like the wieght b/c when i aim it stays steddy
if the 2 finger slap is what its supposed to feel like... either people are using old paintballs or are cranking their velocity
In Germany you need to be 18 to play paintball and there are not as many fields around.
The reason painbtall really attracts because you got the Team aspect, the fitness aspect, the competition aspect, the technical aspekt and the strategic aspect. Id ont know any other sport you can get that for that price.
I only have one field around me and that's about an hour away and my parents don't have time to take me :(

To all those people who play in mapleridgepaintball. Theres a reason paint is so expensive is because everything else is so cheap. Entry is dirt cheap 10 bucks if you have your own gear including air. 20 bucks to rent everything for a first timer. That field is making money on their paintball sales only, not on rentals or admission. My field charges 60 for 2000 rounds of high end paint and 25 for entry 10 for air. Walk ons add 20 to rent the gear. Not bad I think.
they are the same but a 3000 psi tank is normally made of steel which is heavier than carbon fiber and 4500 psi tank shoots a lot more and is lighter
everyone would tell you to check your tank, loader and then up your gun. I wouldn't recommend upgrading to a G3 right now if your tank isn't any good. Up your tank if it's co2 and up your hopper if its a crummy one. Then check your mask, pack, other gear. But yea the vs3 isn't a bad gun at all. People don't really recommend it because there are better guns in the price range, but if you have it there isn't really any reason to up to a g3. The resale value won't be a whole lot. take a rubber band strech it out about 5-6inches and let go on your arm...thats what a paintball might feel like a little better because i took my fingers and hit my arm...it dident hurt at all...rubber band stings more but it still doesent hurt all that much.
sure any gun is good to start out with
$160 for a case! Are you buying the top of the line brittle tourny paint case that can run from 80 and up but the rec paint is usually only about 40 bucks for a 2000 round case. Addiction PB in florida is 15 entry and 40 per case BTW.
think what you wanna play woodsball/recball or speedball ?
tippmanns rule the woodsball area 98 custom or A-5 if you want mech but if sppeedball then borrow first before buying as there are so many electric markers/guns and each to there own :) goodluck to all the new players/ballers

its pretty awesome for 299, I have had autocockers since 1998 and yesterday bought my g4, I love the damn thing, looks amazing and shoots pretty nice, also it is the lightest marker I ever held personally. I would say buy it!!!! others might tell you to get something else because bottom line, it all comes down to personal taste and so on. Anyway I have 7 cockers right now, 1 etek 3 and a couple tippmanns, the G4 blew me away. Its a sweet solid little marker. My 2 cents.
I play in Albuquerque, NM. The only field anymore is Hinkle, paint is kind of expensive but when you buy a case for like $65 including tax you get unlimited air and an all day field pass but you have to have your own gear if you don't you can get a $20 package with a Tippmann 98 custom gravity hopper and 3000 psi HPA tank and 200 paintballs

Your missing your main bolt. its purpose is itll make your paintballs will actually fly out the barrel. Depending on what gun you have takes a different bolt.

i wish i lived in the usa you guys have all the cool stuff over there. I always say to my mum i want to move there when i get older so i can get all the cool stuff u guys get. I live in aus and I only have 1 field with in 300 miles of me and i have to buy paint off them so im really anoyed i love the sport but the cost is insane! :) love you beginers giude the best ive seen on youtube yet and expalins all my noob questions.
I live in Florida and on Saturdays they have so many 98 custom rental people walkin around the field but on Sunday there's a bunch of good players. Also, no one is a honest player on Saturday but on Sunday, people there have even offered me all of there extra ammo wen they were leaving.

when i first got into paintball i thought i was screwed because i didnt think there was any fields in jersey and i turns out theres about ten within an hour from my house also most have pretty cheap entry(about 40 at most) fees which includes paintball from 9 till about 5 free air fills all day and somtimes food. Paint is cheap if you want to buy it there or you can bring your own and most are not just speedball or just woodsball there both.
thats about what it feels like to get hit with a paintball if youre wearing armor.
the first rime i went out i dindnt have any armor or any gloves and i got shot in the same finger twice in 2 games
word of advice- bring some armor (prbly hockey stuff) and BUY OR BRING A PAIR OF HEAVY-DUTY GLOVES

just buy the 2011 proto rail its super light, smooth, and has little to no problems, a very good starting speedball gun

for $250 an amazing gun is a GOG Extcy w/ blackheart board, or get an azodin blits for $180, or a gog envy for $200, proto matric rail, $250
Great video, I should have watched this before I made my purchase. I bought a package that consist of a Proto Switch EL, a BT-4 (great marker, like you said), and a CO2 tank. The BT is working out great. However, I now want to get your V-Force Profiler. Sure, the Proto Switch is ok, but it feels like I got a tumor on my mouth with the mask sticking out. And I barely touch my CO2 tank since the field that I go to provide the Air Tank.
i just went to my first paintball game (im 12) it was the most fun ive ever had i would really like to carry on paintball
@Pottan23 Compress air tanks or what he calls them nitrogen almost always have gages on them with number what go up to like 6 or 8 and it will tell you how much compress air is left in your tank.
archery is also a every-age sport... i've been doing it since i was 9 so was my grandpappy and he's 73 :)

dont be afraid to get closer to the people who are shooting at you
believe it or not you get shot less when your closer to them
if you do get shot its going to be a light sting...unless your feild doesnt include the surrender rule, in which case your gonna come home with bruises and scars
@oblivionmaster92 depends on where you go. most fields in the midwest charge over $60 for a case, many well over. the more popular the field, the higher the prices. also, for 23.99, you probably are not getting very good paint. in canada, over $100 for a case is normal.
i love these vids paintball in the uk cost you £10 to play for the day then £50-£80 for a 1000-2000 balls, and almost all the sites dont allow you to take youre own gear. the only real choice is to go mental and get everything and join a tornament team if you realy want to play.
This is video helped me so much, im starting a budget and found a good paying job to fund it. I just have a couple questions, or more like i would like your oppinions. First is, how often do u play paintball? I play about once a month, from 11am-5pm, is this about average? My next question is, should i sacrifice playing to save up for a better marker? I currently have a spyder and mask thats older than me (im 15), a co2, and gravity hopper. I hope to save up for a G4, with an invert too, ninja
here in Canada, our local field charges $5 to get in... but here's the biggie. It's $120 a case of paint.
Every paintball gun over 300.00+ now days is a good gun. Tippmann crossover, proto reflex rail 2012, Mini, G4, Etha. If your a beginner just get your own gun don't rent because when you can't ramp back most people don't have fun and never come back! Paintball can't afford to keep losing people.
i play in bangor michigan, and if you buy any paint(a case is 45) you get free entry entry and all day air
BOOM! this feild thats like an hour away from my place, they have this deal where you rent like a spyder for 100 dollars, then when the days is done YOU KEEP IT! that way you get to try the marker out, and its a great idea for new players. its called rent-to-buy. Check your feild if they have it, there is also a reball feild at the place i go to and for 20$ you get unlimited air, and unlimited reballs. so your days ( of around 4 hours) is just 20 dollars!!!
I asked the site owner if there was a rule for teh distance for contact, you weren't allowed to engage closer than 15 yards, I got shot at 12 yards, it hurt but i mugged the same guy the next game, good video =]
thats a pretty good entry price, however the paint is a little expensive. because usually, you can get 2000 for 50$.

@CharlySah Yes, nitrogen and HPA tanks are one in the same when it comes to paintball.
@devilduck17 formula 13 is good! Up in canada, the thicker shell helps with the cold! My field charges ~$60 for a case
As good as a video as this is, where i live, it's hard to do what he says. The only stores around here that sell paintball gear are a sports shop and walmart. The closest field is half an hour away, and i have no way to get there. That being the point, i've started to make a field in my back yard where my friends and i can play. That will work, but there is obviously no rental or anything. So Make makes a good point, before you start to play, think about how easy it would be for you to play.
