The Inspiration behind this video:
Significant details regarding The Super Mario Bros. Movie have been kept under wraps as the film's April 5 release date nears. However, early trailers have shown both Luigi and Mario will be inadvertently sucked through a portal, transporting them to a new world. Unfortunately, the two are somehow separated during the journey, with Luigi finding himself in a far darker place than Mario.
Although it appears that Luigi will likely be separated from Mario for the bulk of the film, he will not be insignificant to the story. Much of Bowser's scenes will undoubtedly be with Luigi, using him as a way to show the king's character motivations, delivering vital exposition for his part of the story. While Mario is introduced to the Mushroom Kingdom and trains with his new allies to take on the impending threat, Luigi has an opportunity to learn about Bowser and his army, deciphering their weaknesses to assist his brother during their potential reunion.

I like how they don’t show Luigi as an compelitely defenseless character. And the animation is 🔥
Luigi might even end up being the one to defeat Bowser, you never know.
It looks like Mario will be saving Luigi instead of the Princess. Why? Because Hollywood no longer allows males to save females. Instead, the female is on the same skill level as the male and they both save the day.
Hollywood sucks now.

@J Jones Meh I'm ok with this change. It motivates Mario to get involved in the affairs of the Mushroom Kingdom besides Toad going, "Complete strangers please help us our princess is in danger!"
And it'll give time to develop an actual relationship between Mario and Peach. The damsel in distress falling in love with a rescuer has always been terrible writing.
Even if we don't see my two Mario universe favorite characters (Yoshi and Daisy), and Rosalina (yet), it will be a great movie

I love the shift in story where its Mario willing to go the distance to save his brother. And its Peach training him- this regular plumber guy from the Bronx- to save the galaxy.

Honestly I know a lot of people have been unsure about Chris's Mario voice but 1:16 actually sounded almost exactly like other sound clips Nintendo used of Mario!
Ahhh I'm excited for this movie, it's nice to see not only the studio but the voice actors actually care about who they're portraying!
There are some voice cameos from Charles Martinet in the movie as well, I believe that is one of them.

@@yes-z9727 I actually liked the live action movie. I really liked Bob Hopskins as an actor. The movie was complete nonsense but it had great set pieces and I felt it was fairly ambitious.. maybe a bit too ambitious and much of that ambition was misdirected but at the end of the day, even if it wasn't the greatest it was still entertaining.

I find it awesome that Jack Black voices Bowser in this. I liked his role as Po in the Kung Fu Panda series, and he was also funny as Shelly Oberon in the Jumanji reboots but I also like Tenacious D too. Oh and as Hal Larsson in Shallow Hal was also funny. Either way, Jack Black is an awesome actor, singer and voice actor.

This film looks like so much fun! It seems to incorporate elements to every Mario game there has been. Can't wait to watch it in theatres. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a big hit.

The fact that we’re not seeing any of the other popular/important Mario characters (i.e. Yoshi, Rosalina, Diddy Kong, Bowser Jr., the Koopalings, Wario, etc.) makes me believe that Nintendo is saving them for a potential sequel in the future (so long as the movie sells enough tickets of course, but I imagine that won’t be much of a problem since Nintendo/Illumination have done a fantastic job at marketing and advertising the movie and because Mario is like the most popular and iconic video game character in the world).

@@UnknownNullNullNull pretty much all we can do is assume. Obviously Super Mario World takes place after 3 which place after 2 etc, but Nintendo he never released an official timeline confirming the exact order of the games

37 years ago people expected a video game super hero to be a powerful figure that is unstoppable, then we got mario and everyone loved him.
Not at all. Video game protagonists of the time could be chefs, carpenters, plumbers, any kind of blue collar job. Then some were fantasy characters, sci-fi explorers, gun-toting brawlers, etc. There was a bit of everything.

Personally for me, the less DK the better. Seth Rogen isn't all that great when you get away from his only joke. I consider him a misstep.

Donkey Kong with fire power is crazy and Bowser shouting “MARIO!” sounded awesome
I would have loved this as a kid growing up in the 80's and 90's. I had every single piece of Mario merch I could get my hands on back then and I especially loved the coloring books that had all the characters and watching the old cartoons and collecting the various toys so it is really great to see this come to life in a full movie that isn't live action. Looks good so far and I like they even added in Mario Cart stuff as well.
You had the best Super Mario movie ever. It even had Oscar winner Bob Hoskins playing Mario
@@ryan4627 I remember when It came out. I liked it as a kid but it didn't feel like official Mario to me. It was always like a parody or something
So I was super skeptical of the voice but then I thought about it. Mario didn’t really have a voice until they made commercials and animated series. In the animated series he sounded just like a normal Italian dude. In super show the real life Mario, the same. Mario didn’t really have that iconic voice until the n64 days I think. So I’m going in with an open mind.
When his kart gets destroyed it makes the classic brick breaking sound effect. Love the attention to detail

Mario will be a buffoon that needs “Girl Boss” Peach to teach him everything (because he’s too dumb to learn on his own).
Luigi will be the new damsel-in-distress because of insufferable, modern dogma that can’t allow women to be anything other than “strong and independent” ass-kickers.
Princess Peach will be a “strong and independent” ass-kicker that is essentially the brains AND brawn of the film. She will upstage the eponymous Super Mario Bros. in their own film and emasculate them. After she fully reduced them to comic relief, the film MIGHT allow one of the brothers to get a lucky shot in to defeat the main villain.
We REALLY need “The Patriarchy” back in our entertainment because this feminist stuff is unwatchable.

The whole demeanor of every character excluding DK revolves around Super Mario 2 seeing Peach appear to be one bad ass broad joining in on the adventure.
This is amazing and I can't wait to see it. I'm just wondering how they're going to build a whole Nintendo universe if they use their big bad guy in the first movie and he already gets defeated. It'd be like having Thanos beaten in the first Captain America movie. It'd take away from the threat of him in Endgame. Hopefully they figure that out, maybe Bowser gets powered up somehow and really does take over the universe, or maybe they'll just have to build up to other (lesser known) bad guys.
If they're going to make a second film (wich is possible) they'll probably put Wario and Waluigi as the bad guys
There's probably a reason if they're adding this much iconic characters to the first film but we still haven't even heard about them
Since Peach said something about the galaxy, maybe the next movie (if there is one) will be about another nintendo franchise, like Kirby, Metroid or Starfox.
I can see them trying to do their own cinematic universe.

Yoohoo, just 12 more days, I am so hyped and excited! I also wonder how Mario will fight Bowser, and how it will start, and end, and middle, haha. And about the post-credits scene, also excited for if (when) there is a Luigi's Mansion, Donkey Kong or especially a Zelda movie. Although there is just one thing that is worrying me, there's just 12 days and they haven't even leaked a single snapshot image of Wario yet!
