This is such a cool idea! I'm 100% using it, especially as I had no idea how to make doll clothes that fit XD. It's so simple and you can make much more complicated things for sure with this as a base.
I'm so glad you found it useful! It's a great technique because you can use it for any doll or toy (I'm now making cloaks for ponies :P). I didn't have huge hopes for Monster High because they have these tiiiiiiny torsos, but I was pleasantly surprised :D
i was just sent here by a very kind seller on etsy, it blew my mind!! i can't believe i've been trying to make doll clothes without this strategy, thank you so much for making this!
Omg I was looking for dolls clothes tutorial sand i was NOT expecting your channel to pop up!! I have always known you as the girl who restores ponies lol
Kitchen roll/paper towels also work great for this. (It's what I usually use since plastic wrap and I don't get along.) I got a pair of thread shears to cut it off with, though. I accidentally damaged a very expensive doll using a knife.
A tip to avoid cutting onto the doll directly (to avoid damage), is to attach a cardboard piece (underneath the clear wrap) to the doll's back as you tape the doll. Then when you are done, you can use a knife and cut along the cardboard piece. This would avoid the blade being in direct contact with the doll.
@@RetroGeekCrafts that’s so cool! I always wanted to get into cosplay too! 😅 such a clever little trick this is! Really can’t wait to try it! Thank you so much for making this video! I love it!
It stands for "One of a Kind Doll". They're usually hand-crafted dolls that are unique, made once only. They can be based on existing characters or be just original creations.
This video is exactly what I've been looking for
I'm so glad to ready this!! 😊😊

I didn't know this, thank you for the tip! I'm always scared of damagikg the doll, these taking the patterns off is my least favourite part 😊
