This was jazz meeting R &B w/ a bit of disco & it made us get STOOPID on the dancefloor! "Rock Creek Park" actually left us wanting to visit the actual spot in DC.
WOW!! ..Looks like I'm late for my own party.. I hope everyone had a good-time....((Thank You..Both.)) Sincerely. Sight After Dark..Has that rhythm .They never miss a beat... Poppie *....P.S.. If you 2 ever find your feet in Motown.. Hit me up..Drinks are on me..
I love Donald Byrd, love The Blackbyrds, love this track, talk about a vibe! I've always been a total sucker for the funky jazz. If you dig this, try Donald Byrd's 'Street Lady' or 'Steppin' Into Tomorrow'..
I love this song I remember when you came out. I'm not a snob but how can you ask where is this place is when the video clearly shows the Jefferson Memorial. The water around the memorial is called the Tidal Basin. At no time has the Jefferson Memorial ever been in Illinois
This is one time I preferred the Album version. This version tends to drag on on too much in places (but even the 12 inch version is a part of an iconic track by the Blackbyrds). Rock Creek Park was always guaranteed to jam up the dance floor back in the day.!

This was released in '75, and it had a long life (was still rocking the clubs in the UK years later). If you want another dope dancefloor filling tune from the Blackbyrds, you should check 'Time is movin' from their next Album (Unfinished business)
@@never_pharma1412 i pick up a compilation jazz CD with Blackbyrds on them which tuned me on...strange how you pick up things..I New Zealand friend introduced me to the band''thrid world which is some of the most classy regae you could hear...Most people know their music but not the band.
@@mikedemike5393 I'm from the UK, and Third World were big over here when they released 'Now that we've found love'. My favourite Track from them is 'Girl from Hiroshima', but over here (and only over here) we created something called 'Lovers Rock', which is my favourite kind of Reggae (even better than the the great Bob Marley imho). If you want to hear beautiful tunes that make you wanna dance with your partner you should check out stuff like 'Caroll Thompson - Just a little bit', 'Caroll Thompson - Hopelessly In Love', 'Cool Notes - My Tune', 'Gregory Isaacs - Cool Down The Pace [12'' Version]', 'In Crowd - Back A Yard', 'Investigators - Love is what you make it', 'Louisa Mark - Keep It Like It Is', 'Motion - No Man Is An Island', 'Jean Adebambo - Paradise', 'Kofi - Didn't I'. I could literally go on for pages because I have literally hundreds of lovers rock tunes that I collected over the years when it was big, but you can probably find plenty on the internet (although probably not of this quality)
@@never_pharma1412 I saw Marley about '78...yeah ,as I said most know third world for know that we've found and 06 degrees..I like plying us too close...jai love..I'll check your selections...Bob Marley was very primal reggae and it is a style that can be worked many ways.
@@mikedemike5393 Bob Marley's style was what we call Roots Reggae, and we even had our own Roots Reggae Icons over here. In London they were Aswad (Check out 'Warrior Charge' for Roots Rock and they did a few lovers Rock Tunes one of which was confusingly called 'Roots Rockin', then they also got into Reggae Fusion with songs like 'Next to you') and in Birmingham we had Steel Pulse (Check out 'Handsworth Revolution', the title track from their Debut Album - All of which was Good, and 'Worth his weight in Gold' and the Dub version 'Dub Marcus say')

We wanna visit now!
@@SightAfterDark Check their song 'Happy Music'. Bliss! AKA Merry Clayton (from The Stones "Gimme Shelter") provides the female vocals on both.
Hey, great tune! I heard that the park is in MD/DC area. A DJ was talking to the crowd during this song (spot on, Sifa 😆) and shouted it out.
Shoutout to all the DJs out there!
Rock Creek Park is literally a 10 minute walk from my spot. One off my favorite places, and this song does it justice.
Ayyyeeee
#OuttaSite Love It!
Good one. With the advent of hip-hop this song never stopped playing.
Absolutely!
I rocked this song so HARD! back when it dropped, this tune was a favorite at the skating rings.

Didn’t realize it’s the same Donald Byrd that did Wind Parade!!
Thumbs up 👍

We ask because we didn’t realize and are thankful for information left in the comments! Thanks for watching and sharing Kevin!
You 2 know music and ryrhyms etc. Just need a little help with geography 😊
