My late husband and I loved to dance…he would grab my hand, no matter where we were, if a rat pack song was playing, and dance with me…the middle of Walmart, the street, our backyard, etc! Watching you dance brings me such joy and the fact you’re willing to teach us novices, is fantastic! From a grateful old woman.. thank you!❤❤
Really getting into the nitty gritty is how I’m learning. Having somebody break down the small things is super cool. I’d watch a lot more of these. If you’re explaining how you dance, I’m watching 😂
Super helpful and super accessible! Esp for those of us who fell in love into WCS without any innate/childhood/formal dance training prior. Thanks Keerigan.
This shows commitment to dance - improvement and sharing. It isn't just commitment to winning. I appreciate your growth as a dancer that I have seen and continue to see.
A bunch of good things: I like the summary / overview at the beginning, I like the breakdowns with multiple examples, I feel like the concepts come across clean. The only thing that I would want different is depth 1 level deeper. Specifically, like "dancers tend to do either x or y instead of what Im suggesting. X looks like this on the body, Y looks like this on the body in a basic pattern and what I want advocate for looks like this on the body in a pattern." Or something like "a really common move where this can be applied and is often applied incorrectly is X, and wrong looks like this, right looks like this"
Thank you for your descriptions. I always watch it to dance but didn't have the rhythm and the people around me who could really dance didn't understand why I was so poor at it. As a result of course they weren't good teachers at all. Thank you so much. It really makes my enjoyment of what you do so much more thorough now that I understand what I'm looking at.
From Melbourne, Australia. I went to my first WCS city-wide group lesson and social dance last weekend for Christmas and loved it ! My daughter and grandson (I'm in my early 70s) went with me. My teenage grandson has a dance background and thoroughly enjoyed it, as did my daughter. Also, there I found that there's a school in our suburban area which we will be attending after the holiday break. I'm sooo excited! Keerigan, your videos on You Tube introduced me to this style of dance months ago. THANK - YOU ! Now, apart from free dancing, I can express myself in a more artistic way because, " I've got the music in me, " and it needs an outlet !
Hey thanks for doing these! I’m stuck out here in outback Australia at the moment, with no swing dancing anywhere remotely near me 🫠 Appreciate you sharing this type of content, breaking things down 🙌🏼
Great video! I was always feeling a little bit uncomfortable with my free arm just sort of dangling around but the one joint at a time rule really gives a concept for how to move, that is amazing!
Have you studied any ballet, Keegan? Some of your hand/arm movements bring ballet dances to mind. An elegance I've never associated with any dance style other than ballet. I throughly enjoy your skill as a dancer and as an instructor. 💙
there are a lot of liquid dancing techniques, that are basically identical to what you are doing. so maybe reach out to those oldschool videos, if you not already know them all. And yes i guess, that you already know them. Just let this information here in case you need it
After I started doing this, follows just won't leave me alone!!! jk great moves. Extra fun when follows automatically try to copy the nice moves. Some nice mirroring going on.
West coast Swing was the first formal dance I learned. Prior to that I did a little bit of bar coast/country swing (the county dancing they do at bars in Texas)

Great instruction for flowing movement. Love what you do
Thank you!
Keep them drills coming please. They are great!
A great dancer and a great teacher with a lovely voice ❤
I hope I remember this as I go

Thanks so much this is super helpful feedback! Teaching online is an entirely new beast for me. I’ll try to implement more of that going forward!
Loved the way you broke this down. I enjoy watching you dance. I miss dancing so much since my husband died.

Simple yet effective. Thanks for sharing!

He did mention contemporary in the video
Thumbnail got my attention 🎯 💯
I was like why Keerigan so mad at a hand? …Oh. 😂
Wow, simple and to the point! This is really helping with my free arm crisis, thanks!
Concise enough that I don't even need Subway Surfers footage in the corner for my gen-z brain to focus!
Thanks , more please, musicality and expression within WCS foundations.
Sweet! Thanks for the recommendation!
Thank you
Thank yoouuu
You’re welcome!
Stellar

Yeah, great Kerrigan
Were you already familiar with dancing before you started WCS?
