Lounge is the unofficial ranking system for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe! When you wish to compete, you will play against other players of similar match-making rating (MMR). Depending on your MMR, you will place in one of the numerous ranks in Lounge:
Iron 1: 0-999 MMR
Iron 2: 1000-1999 MMR (Placement: 1500)
Bronze 1: 2000-2999 MMR (Placement: 2500)
Bronze 2: 3000-3999 MMR (Placement: 3500)
Silver 1: 4000-4999 MMR (Placement: 4500)
Silver 2: 5000-5999 MMR
Gold 1: 6000-6999 MMR
Gold 2: 7000-7999 MMR
Platinum 1: 8000-8999 MMR
Platinum 2: 9000-9999 MMR
Sapphire 1: 10000-10999 MMR
Sapphire 2: 11000-11999 MMR
Ruby 1: 12000-12999 MMR
Ruby 2: 13000-13999 MMR
Diamond 1: 14000-14999 MMR
Diamond 2: 15000-15999 MMR
Master: 16000-16999 MMR
Grandmaster: 17000+ MMR
Depending on your rank, you will only be eligible to compete in some of the following tiers:
Tier G: Iron 1 + Iron 2 + Placement
Tier FG: Iron 2 + Bronze 1
Tier F: Bronze 1 + Bronze 2
Tier EF: Bronze 2 + Silver 1
Tier E: Silver 1 + Silver 2
Tier DE: Silver 2 + Gold 1
Tier D: Gold 1 + Gold 2
Tier CD: Gold 2 + Platinum 1
Tier C: Platinum 1 + Platinum 2
Tier BC: Platinum 2 + Sapphire 1
Tier B: Sapphire 1 + Sapphire 2
Tier AB: Sapphire 2 + Ruby 1
Tier A: Ruby 1+
Tier S: Ruby 2+
Tier X: Diamond 1+
If you're just getting started, you will be placed in either Iron or Bronze. You'll typically see the seasoned veterans in Sapphire or above.

The new room feature really helped push mk8dx competitive to main stream since it is so easy to setup a room now. Really, the BCP as a whole push mk8 competitive into the mainstream. I got into lounge because of you, thank you and I'm enjoying lounge so far.

Agreed there's a lot of tracks I like that he doesn't and vice versa, so I'd be interested to see how he ranks each track, especially since in competitive it's generally the same tracks

I think its generally wise to go back and review all the games for any mistakes. Chalking bad results up to bad luck and item spam will not alleviate plenty of avoidable driving mistakes, poor decision-making and toxic attitudes in future games. If shocks are "inconvenient", I wonder why people don't play this game like MKWii where target shocks during big shortcuts are the norm (DKM and DKS for instance).

I have now given up on this game and needed to say it somewhere.
All I do is get angry, every single online match, over and over and over...
...doing 150cc was fun, where 200cc was challenging. Getting to 5000VR was fun too( a little unbalanced in the beginning), but now the best I can hope for is 6th...always. On rare occasions someone shocks everyone as I am bagging with a bullet(I only bag to catch up after being ripped to shreds by items, even constantly thrown backwards from 11th place to keep me last.) and I might end up "2nd". I feels like no matter what combo I use or how many shortcut or tachniques I use I can't get(or even farm) good items
I haven't had fun in the past eight days of playing, not once. Now I will never play again without someone showing me "the secret" that's not in JPGiviner's or Shortcat's videos, because I don't feel like I can improve now so I'm just boggled how I could enjoy this for 150+ hours to just absolutely hating it now after another 24hrs!!!
I only have the mirror left in single player and "no challenge" is only less frustrating than "no chance" and still no reason to keep playing. I hate these slumps where everything I can play is either too hard or too easy, I just want to have fun when I come home from work.
I might as well not play anything, right now.

If you still want to play online, play with a group of friends in a friend room, don't play regional or worldwide because not unlike competitive mario kart, it is the most brain-cell killing experience known to man.

hey jpg, can you maybe do a video on mini-turbo breakpoints? besides the stat table, there is literally no content on that out there. it is the reason why i tend to go for either 3.75, 4.25 or 5 MT, and nothing inbetween. am i overestimating the importance of those?
