This might be a stretch but I’ve watched all the videos on this swap, and read up on most the comments you made. From my understanding you’re not really sure how your friend did the wiring for the vss and clutch interlock. Is there anyway you could have your friend explain how he did all of that?
Not really, he's a busy guy and it's been literal years since we did this. But essentially we had to compare the wiring for the manual vs automatic car regarding the speedometer in the service manual, match that at the ECU (which involves repinning one wire iirc), and wire up the VSS in the bay. We repurposed some of the old auto trans harness wires for power and signal. The clutch interlock is super easy, just gotta run the wire for the interlock signal through the switch on the pedal and back to ground. Again, you can look through the service manual to find out what wires specifically. If you have any idea how to read an EWD it's not that complicated to figure out. I didn't record the swap to make a tutorial, it was more of just a documentation kinda video series, so unfortunately that's all you're getting out of me lol
Watched all the videos. Wish you showed the wires you connected for the VSS. That's my only worry completing my MT swap in my 98 odyssey. Which is the same as your accord
It's not that hard. We just repinned one wire at the ECU (and teed off that to drive the speedometer) and recycled some of the old AT harness wires for power and ground. My friend did most of it so that's why it wasn't covered in detail (There's also the fact that it was more of a documentation series than a step by step tutorial)
@@accordinglyryan I get it lmao. But some cars is just makes sense to if it's got a bunch of plastic lines that always break like newer gm cars with the daewoo engine
Ayyy sick car bro, your both a techy and a car guy like me, sick. I just found my grandmothers old inspiration 1525, I like keeping up to date but I don’t know a damn thing about what specs I should be having for pcs, what kind of games could I run on this thing if I took it of the hell that is vista?
I can't because I didn't do it lol. My friend did the majority of the wiring, I'm kind of an idiot with electrical shit lol. But basically all you need to do is wire the clutch switch, reverse lights (which are both easy) and the speed sensor (a little more involved, gotta repin a couple wires at the ECU). That's about all I can tell you though
@@Ohh.thatsjustken Has to be reprogrammed to the new ECU. To get the car to the dealership I drilled a hole through my original key to damage the transponder chip, then taped it to the new key to get it to start. I have a 4 part video series on doing the swap, that's in part 4
Rebuild the motor next if your burning oil your rings are prolly no good add new pistons seals rings and rods so you know the bottom end is good and u might as well throw a turbo on it
I've got a 2001 coupe 3.0 Accord, just started trying to evaluate whether or not the trouble of a manual swap is worth it. Good to see you're not having major issues that need solving. Been reading that the Acura CL 6 spd should bolt right up to a J30a1, but I was wondering where you did most of your research?
The V6 is considerably more difficult to manual swap because it never came that way. More custom wiring is involved. Most of my research was done on decades old forums lol
Hey bro I got a Question how u wire up the speed sensor from the automatic transmission to the manual transmission
Did you figure this out?? I’m having the same issues

@@accordinglyryan thanks man I appreciate you for replying!
@@abused.cg5 No problem good luck man
When doing a manual swap on the 2002 accords do you need to get a auto to manual mount. Mine is and automatic chassy.
Yes you need the manual passenger side and rear mounts
i found one 2001 vtec accord 2.0 my only concern is the mpg since its 2.0 is it really that gashog? such a shame 😥😔

@@accordinglyryando you know what youtube channel that is?
If the throttle body uses hoses for it's heater I always just bypass them. Helps reduce intake air temps.
Eh I'm not looking to modify this car in any way really lol

Bruh I can't believe it's been almost 2 years since the MT swap
Time flies lol
Ive been waiting for this
If your compression is that high most likely you're burning oil from the valve seals leaking
I’m about to do the same for the first time , can you do a more in-depth view of what all you need to do to the wiring bro please 🙏🏾

If I swap to a manual PCM and manual engine harness .
will I still have to re-pin the PCM for the VSs sensor?
Hey try some Lucas oil stabilizer with the next oil change
Is possible I can talk to your friend to get more depth on the speed sensor

Don't have the means to at the moment
What avg mpg you got after the swap? How about before?
No real difference, mid 20s
