Listening to you explain the 'MASTER PLAN' has the exact same energy of someone screaming about how everybody though he was crazy and how he'll show them all. Respect
too true, his videos almost always help me if I start having a panic attack cause he’s great at storytelling and gets me super invested to the point I eventually end up forgetting that I was even anxious in the first place, the videos being long helps just the same too!!
I'm intrigued to see how Support MECs work out for this! The enemy AI still recognises them as troopers, so actually taking advantage of the distortion field means putting multiple guys quiiiite close together; this is how you tell XCOM "thank you for the good times, but I am now ready for all the AoE horror you can spare"
I found your channel recently and i can say that surprised how much quality content you managed to put even in the early stages of your channel, you have a lot of talent, also congrats for the 200k subs
i gotta say, those funny little one linear gots me every single freaking time. like central saying "answer me" as if he is a skeletor. ahhhhh just hilarious, i might have accidentally listened to that line (and the previous one in s.h.i.v only) for a couple of hundred times. and heres another interesting idea, i believe lemon is actively characterize papa bear into his very own embodiment in the game. i mean just look at him, taking care of rookies (youngsters), communicating with the fire bomb goodness, and just generally dropping ominous dialogue at the end of the episode, you know, just "another at the office", a nice little add-on for the dad joke for this channel (oh BTW Mr lemon if you can see this, the "master plan" audio can have a tad bit more excitement or mysterious sense in it, now it feels just little bit too plain)
So so thrilled to see someone doing challenge runs on my favorite game franchise!! Can't wait for you to dig into War of the Chosen, you're going to LOVE it 😄
I LOVE SENSELESS FLAME AND EXPLOSIONS WOOO All in all, I mostly love seeing you take the most chaotic form of attack and make it the most focused style of your channel. Also, I never knew there was a bad ending. Was that from letting the world burn for a month straight?
Aside from the wonky free-aiming on the grenades, the 10% miss chance on the rockets, and the mildly glitchy behavior of the proximity mines, I'd say explosives are the LEAST chaotic form of attack in this game. Other than the Mec-Trooper's punch, which also does fixed damage and is easier to aim...hm...
Thanks lemon For uploading XCOM again ! Im so bad at the game i can't even complete a normal run on easy difficulty, so its trurly enjoyable to see people like you do challenge runs !
I would highly recommend trying some of these challenges (or just regular runs) with the Long War mod. It has a second wave option called dynamic war that lets you change the pace of the game (default Long War is about twice as long as the vanilla game IIRC), as well as just being (in my opinion) the definitive XCOM experience, with more classes, more alien classes, more weapon tiers, more items etc.
@@Shaggygottasneeze They didn't gimp chance to hit though? They made dodge more useful, for everyone involved. Example scenario: A 75% hit chance is displayed. The game rolls for hit chance, and the result is a graze. The target has 0 dodge, but the shooter has 20 crit. The game rolls, and confirms the crit. The final status of the shot is upgraded from 'graze' to 'hit'. The alien takes normal damage from the shot. Scenario 2: The target has 25 dodge, the shooter has 0 crit, and a 95% chance to hit. The game rolls a hit at base. The game rolls to see if the shot is a dodge or crit, and it comes up a dodge. The hit is downgraded to a graze, and the alien takes reduced damage from the shot. And of course, graze + failure to crit + successful dodge = miss.

Only thing left is something silly like "Using only Snipers specialising in maximizing pistol dmg, aka gunslinger build" fun fact the squadsight works with pistols so it can be useful, and it means most of the skills Sniper has can improve the gunslinger playstyle.
By the flame does papa lemon deliver us another feast! Thank you very much, Lemon. Really love how the editting and effort has grown since I subbed way back, keep it up as always!
We had the Drifter coming to Bloodborne, and Lemon returning to XCOM. I love it. When he mentioned having to get close to the enemies at 1:08, I half expected the Drifter's "close range?!" meme to show up.
Hey Lemon. Its always impossible until it is done has become a favorite phrase of mine. It got me through my black belt test. You deserve way more love than you get. Happy holidays!
Everytime I see one of your xcom videos I have to replay it. I don't do the challenge cause I am a coward but I always learn how important mecs or explosives are and it makes me way better at the game. Love you my guy
I've never played Xcom and usually the games aren't my style but I really liked this video. The reason is the way you make the videos. if I played the game I'd get bored in 10 minutes
32:48 Oh I know the Omnissiah's call when I hear it, Only the machine can know the blessing of the big boom and the realization of the weakness of the flesh
this makes me wonder if it’s possible to beat Xcom with only modern day weaponry. No lasers, No plasma, and no ways to increase your damage other than reaper rounds and shredder rockets.
@@lordhellstrande2763I actually just completed a run like that. I couldn't avoid making the firestorm, though. I don't think it's possible to beat the overseer ufo without one (I allowed EMP on the normal jets because that's something we could reasonably produce, but even then I don't think it's possible)
Awesome job. Id seen this run talked about but your the first Ive seen pull it off. Also I thought there would be at least 1 "BOOM stick" joke in there. Thank you for the gift.
Your Xcom content is what drew me to the channel and I'm so happy to see more ☺️ love all your stuff but strategy is my jam 😁 keep up the excellent content mate.

The "ANSWER ME" is still one of my favourite jokes. I forget it's coming every time and it always gets a laugh out of me lol
The line "WHY CAN'T YOU BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER!?" absolutely cracked me.

To be fair, "AoE horror" is the definition of this run.

That's some devotion to his goddess right there.

Ah, the “say goodbye to weapon fragments” run. Oh the pain…
Ah, explosives. Man's answer to the non-question of "If violence didn't solve the problem, you didn't use enough violence.".
I appreciate the Maximum Carnage music in the double sectopod fight, considering how much that game loved to throw double bosses at you
