Roboquest is a fast FPS Roguelite in a scorched futureworld. You're a rebooted Guardian, ready to kick some metal butt! Fight with your buddy or by yourself and annihilate hordes of deadly bots in ever-changing environments.

This game is close to perfection. Music, movement, shooting, progression, everything is addictive
God I love Roboquest. I havent played 1.0 yet but I had everything unlocked back before release, all the items, characters and difficulties. Hope 1.0 is as good as I expected
the 1.0 update erased all progress
As the other commenter said, all progress has been erased but the game is as good as ever, with one new class added in as well.
The progression is one of the best parts it was the right call to wipe all progress. Personally I’m loving the 1.0 update.
This is one of my favorite roguelites and I have you to thank for showing it to me in one of your earlier videos of this game.
Please make this a series!
Also I fully expected Retro to go back and pick up the blunderbuss in the purple zone, that seemed like something retro would do 38:53 😅

I love how the weapons have unlimited ammo. I feel like it's not punishing me for using the weapons that actually click with me
honestly I agree with you 100% that this game just feels fun first even without any roguelite elements. its just fun man and i'm really glad i picked it up a few years back, i'm having a blast with it atm

as someone who 100%'d early access and played this game for 15 hours straight on 1.0 release day and now holds several worlds first achievements, i would love to see a series on this

I love how you said FPS games are your blind spot, but you did pretty well. Your accuracy, combat awareness and movement were all much better than blind spot status.

Whenever Splat dives back into this game, he always goes on and on about the soundtrack. For good reason, though. Shit be bumpin'. I dont remember who made it, though 🤔

Fun game. Played it with my son this weekend and we couldn't stop playing it.
the blue/red bot is somebody you can pick up as a weapon and it unlocks a new area and starter weapon
Also the bot that goes on the railing gives you a lot of healing cells and xp
This game just oozes charm,passion and personality. You can tell the devs are really proud of their project and happy and grateful for the support it gotten.
It doesn't have none of those typical corporate business modern gaming BS you smell in most AAA games,Especially the live service kinds.
Fingers crossed for a brighter future because these are the type of video game that really makes it up for me.
I plan on getting this game very soon, would not mind a mini series on it!
Love this game so much! Definitely top 3 rogelites, and all the added stuff from the 1.0 update really made it live up to it's early access potential. I hope a lot of people give this game the attention it deserves!

I finally took the plunge after I saw this and ya wow, some of the best fps gameplay I've ever experienced. I don't think it's for everyone but those who are into it will absolutely love Roboquest.

I ADORE this game. Out of every roguelite I've played, it's the only one where I actually had more fun thanks to the metaprogress, specifically in the variety of quests and challenges you can do to unlock things. The currency-based metaprogress is also done well in my opinion, at least as far as "metaprogress that unlocks based on how long you play the game" really can be done well, specifically because almost every notable addition is unlocked in the first or second set, with the rest being largely comprised of bumps to RNG (e.g higher chance for weapons with more affixes) or choice increases (e.g 1-3 perk rerolls per run). Sure, they're nice to have, but ultimately your skill as a player is going to be doing the heavy lifting, at least once you've cleaned out the first couple of upgrades that actually unlock things. Especially toward the end of the options, the pickings are pretty slim; many of the upgrades are a couple percentage points extra chance for minor positive things or similarly inconsequential tweaks. On the other hand, the quest-based metaprogression is a blast, since it runs on secrets, challenges, and alternative routes; as an example, in this run you found the Ruins key. Next run, you could go to the Ruins, and do things there, or you could do things in Energy Center, or Fields, or Quarry, or maybe you'll speedrun past enemies and shoot for the 3-minute timed door in Oasis. Just about every level has at least two paths branching off of it, and the secret routes are wild. Not to the extent of ULTRAKILL's secret levels completely changing the genre of the game, but enough to throw you for a loop. I'd love to see a series!

The enemy going across the rail gives you extra experience and healing cells if you kill it before it makes it across...
Love this game, sheriff's carbine is one of my fav guns. If you xan get a good roll on them, I like the dual stingers
I've been playing Roboquest for almost 2 years. Glad to see they did such a good job on it and kept adding to it. Happy V1.0!!!! And RIP to all the "early access'" games that disappear and run away with our money.

The one thing this game manages to accomplish very well is that it avoids the claustrophobic feeling much like risk of rain.

I absolutely love this game! It's so much fun to play, and they update it very regularly for balance(to my chagrin) and bug fixes when they pop up. (EDIT:: also I would love to see more! There is meta progress, but it's more like a slow burn of adding extra content once you get used to the basics, rather than a "I have 300% more HP now" game, which I love)

Is anyone on Xbox finding the aim assist odd? It is most noteable on zoom sniper rifle. You target an enemy and the aim assist lock dips your aim below the enemy. This also happens on standard weapons but not as noticeable. It’s like anti-aim!
oh man the lowered crosshair is something you need to get used to. Love the game though have had it for a while now!

I played this game a bit a few months ago really enjoyed it… just kinda sucked at it lol.
It gives mothergunship vibes but it’s so unique and the progression was nice.
Don't know if you figured it out already but power cells aren't meta currency there pretty much this games money for your current run wrenches are the big meta currency

Happy to see it out but they changes to the classes really makes them feel bad right now, they've made some questionable decisions right at release time. Here's hoping I am wrong because I love the idea of the game. That and I wish they had made it full co-op instead of just two player.
What changes do you feel are negative? I'm someone who played the game a LOOOOT in early access, and from my experience of playing the 1.0 there's only been positive changes made to the classes (I've tried so far), other than a few light nerfs, everything was mostly buffed and perk diversity was increased.
Honestly, I didnt like this game that much and I believe this is because i've played gunfire reborn before it, which in my opinion is a more consistent, fair and fun game overall. I also don't think it is fair to compare both of these games YET since Roboquest is a way younger game and has yet to improve in a bunch of stuff

His aim is good but imo he plays the game incredibly slow paced and cautious - vs me who's power sliding through the middle of every encounter and flying from one encounter to the next - though I have to say the game punishes not just corner peeking a lot in the later stages, sadly.
The aim assist is real in this title.
I wish this game wasn't all about robots. I always find shooting robots in an FPS is a lot less satisfying than shooting flesh enemies.
The power cells are not meta progression they are essentially just money
Powercells are used to upgrade and buy stuff in run not meta progress

Retro make a game brother u know what roguelites need and could use to make them better. Have u tried backpack battles also. Pretty fun.
