It was a nice thing from Nico to say of course, but also a logical one. Because its impressive to be able to make such an observation when you are put in such a car/ experience.
Seriously! I remember watching his controller stuff on Forza wayyyy back. Who'd have thought he'd end up here! Massively proud of Steve. Dude deserves all the success.
You can always buy used cars though, $30K Vantage and $50K DB9s are out there. Is it a smart financial thing to do? Probably not but you definitely can get one
Just casually telling the Aston Martin test driver (and former F1 ace) that their 4 million dollar track-focused hypercar is a tad understeery. As you do 😅
They make it like that deliberately. Remember that this is a car which anyone can but and therefore they need to cater it to drivers that aren't professionals.
@@Super_GT I feel like you'd have to be a nutcase to buy a 4 million dollar track purposed hypercar without being a highly competent driver. I wonder if the understeer can be tuned out for those that are more experienced.
Love seeing you going places. I've been watching you for years, never would've imagined something like this was even possible. I'm genuinely happy for you
Was lucky enough to hear the 'normal' Valkyrie revving during filming of a video with Rory Reid in the Goodwood paddock the other year - can confirm it was earsplitting. Every single person in the area (me included) put their fingers in their ears in unison when that thing revved😂
This is insane. Congratulations man, this is the experience of a lifetime. I'm glad to see the success of your channel has allowed you to do so many things outside of just the core sim racing foundation.
i felt that little "oop" in my soul when your foot brushed the mirror getting out lmfao. "hey man you busted the mirror! you better sell your house to buy a replacement"
Nico winking at Steve at the beginning... then when he ended the lap and entered the pit lane at that insane speed, i asked myself does he do that with everyone? not, that was just for you he said... ♥️ Jokes aside what a nice and humble guy Nico is.
To be honest with you, it has been great to watch you come this far. From racing Sir Lewis Hamilton on GranTurismo to your own karting and Track racing and now these laps with Nico Hülkenberg...purely incredible. It always makes me smile to watch your content :) Keep it up!
3:51 I was half expecting someone to scream "HELLO STEVE, VIEWERS HERE" Or maybe even Nico.. What's crazy is that when us "normal" people drive any car, we drive at the limit that our brains find "just enough dangerous to not be dangerous". When guys like Nico drive a car, they drive at the limit of that car, regardless of how fast it is. Your brain really needs to be built different to be an accomplished pilot.
Congratulations Steve. The sound of that engine honestly brought tears to my eyes and reminds me that good things do happen to good people. Congrats to Aston Martin not only for building this vehicle but for bringing us along via our Sim King rep, Super GT. A normally refrained and subdued chap, turned to an excited puddle of smiles and giddiness. Fantastic editing too. So happy for you bro
The way I watched this video with a smile on my face. Been watching you for years Steve. You've had so many huge experiences, all so deserved, but I think this one definitely tops the charts! What's next?? That Valkyrie probably left your ears ringing!! What a machine!
Incredible, just the sound of the engine when they pulled off the pit gave me goosebumps. Unreal piece of kit. Also Niko Hulk the legend as the driver, can't top that.
Seeing a racer like you still getting surprised by the g-forces is stunning to see. From now on just drive every car like it was the Valkyrie! Next goal set! 😁
Loved the video it had me smiling almost the whole time! You can really fell the energy and excitement in this one, and I especially enjoyed the closing beauty shots! Keep up the driving and practice and maybe one day you'll be driving something like this for a team... Or driving it home! ❤️
The sound is on another level and that hearing it through the portal of youtube. Being in person must be heartpounding. A true once in a lifetime expereince!
This is probably your best video yet, Steve. I'm smiling ear to ear the whole time for reasons like 1. Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro is probably my favorite track car right now 2. This is a completely new experience from you 3. You, Nico, Henry Catchpole, and James in one frame at one time 4. That "well observed" bit from Nico is just *chef's kiss
Such amazing to see you having these experience. Love to see you having fun driving and been on a 4million, 300kph IRL car. Been following you since 2018, and its still my favourite channel of entire youtube. Congrats Steve, soon you will have more and more things like this.
Love this!! Nico is so under rated in F1 in my opinion. There are so many seats he can fill and do so much better. A true talent! This is awesome! Thank you for sharing! I'm so jealous!!
Hi Steve, if you remember at Whilton Mill 3 years ago Jensen Pughe was air lifted to hospital after breaking his femur. Well he was one of the kids cheering from the balcony of the Silverstone UTC whilst this was being filmed and today he is at the Aston Martin factory putting the finishing touches to the Valkyrie which is heading down to Goodwood to race up the hill. Next week the Valkyrie will also be at Silverstone circuit .
This must have been a dream like experience. Very very cool is still a big understatemunt! 7:11 - When Nico first brakes after the straight you really see the difference in handling the braking. His neck stays in position and yours shoots forward. Liked that detail. Hopefully your neck survived though. ;)
If you came away from that without a stain in the underwear department I'd be surprised, that was an awesome ride Steve, thanks for taking us with you.
Let's hope that Aston Martin can somehow make it work and bring the Valkyrie to Le Mans in the comming years. I've heard that they never fully terminated the LM project, would be amazing to hear that V12 screaming down the Mulsanne.
I wouldn’t even say it’s not a LMH if I was to suddenly come a fortune I’m buying 3 then sending them off to the FIA for homologation by the FIA for bop
Man you are always posting absolutely amazing IRL videos! If you keep that up I'm sure you'll become one of the best real life racers in what you do best. Cheers mate and never stop working hard for that level up.
Amazing experience and awesome to come along for the ride in this video. That car is incredible. I wish Aston Martin would bring it to Le Mans and go head to head with Porsche, Glickehaus and Toyota.
Great vid! Struck by how the rear camera shots gave a better sense of the speed than the visor cam. With that wider field of view, things were just flying past insanely fast! Loved the understeer observation and his reaction, right on the money that you could notice that while most anyone else would be wondering if they should have brought a spare pair of underwear!

hearing that signature SuperGT closing song with that Valkyrie in the bg just gave me the chills! Congrats Steve on such an epic day!
Its crazy to see how much stronger Nico’s neck is. His head barely moves compared to Steve’s
I mean yeah… it’s likely stronger. He’s also driving though.
He’s got the steering wheel to help him brace
He knows what inputs hes putting in and therefore what forces to brace for is part of it as well
its also the fact that he is steering, so he can compensate better, but still
it helps to be holding onto the wheel
