    Audient has released a brand new product today: the EVO 4 Start Recording Bundle! This bundle includes the EVO 4 interface, SR2000 Headphones, and an SR1 Condenser Microphone with a shock mount. This bundle is designed for beginners, to help you get your very first studio setup started. Today, we are going to test out the Start Recording bundle by writing a song on the spot, and see exactly how easy it is to use this equipment.
    We have reviewed the EVO 4 before, and what we love about it is how easy it is to use. The EVO 4 has an incredibly useful auto gain function. We have been using this interface for recording quick demos because you just press a button, and it sets the gain, and you are ready to go! Features like this are what make this interface and the rest of the package so beginner-friendly.
    With this kind of equipment, you want it to work quickly and easily, and while we were recording our song, it seemed to do just that! Everything in this bundle is so easy to use. Having something that is so simple and user-friendly allows you to be creative because you can put your focus on that instead of on using complicated equipment.
    On top of releasing the EVO Start Recording Bundle, Audient has just upgraded two of their other products. They upgraded the ID4 MKII and made updates like adding the JFET instrument output that is also found on the EVO 4, which is very musical and great for guitar DIs. There is also better metering on the new version than on the previous one. The key difference, though, is there is an extra 7dB of analog to digital conversion dynamic range, and an extra 11dB on digital to analog conversion. This means you can print a little hotter without worrying about digital clipping or distortion.
    The second product Audient upgraded is the ID14. This one already had a pretty high dynamic range, but it has gone up an extra 5dB on the analog to digital conversion and an extra 9dB on digital to analog conversion. It also has a sleeker design, among other fantastic updates!

    What would you record with the EVO Start Recording Bundle?

    • @dreamcat4
      @dreamcat4 3 года назад +1

      I would want to capture strange ans interesting sounds. And the samples convert them into playable instruments. I would also try playing 'drums' / percussion on ordinary objects. Again ones which I felt had good or 'worthwhile' tonal properties. And enhance the recording with plugins. It is more of a practically motivated reason because I dont have any real drums here. But can then track over with certain other conventional instruments.

    My brother bought a nice custom Kiesel bass, and I know he could record bass tracks and WE could come up with some home made jams like we did when we were kids. This interface would be perfect for him. He could even mic a speaker, since he loves to play traditionally. I’ll send this to him. Thanks as always Warren. Espen Kraft uses one of these. 👍

    Interesting you popped up with this today. I've been scowering over Sweetwater looking at AI & microphones to record my acoustic guitar. I've looked at the bundles, but I don't need the headphones. I already have AKG K712 Pros, and a few pair of Sennheisers. Wish they would do more mic/AI combos and leave out the super cheap headphones that are exactly the same in every bundle (Mackie, Focusrite, Evo...).

    Amazing piece of kit. I don’t need one, I have a Presonus Quantum, but having something like this when I first started recording in the 80s would have been amazing. People are really fortunate to have this kind of technology in this day and age just as I thought I was with my Tascam 244 Portastudio cassette recorder in 1982. This interface is at least 30 times better. Let’s all watch Warren record a hit single off the cuff right in front of our very eyes. :-)

    Hi Warren,
    At the moment, I work 100% in the box, but I'm looking at a couple of hardware units. I'm not sure if it's worth getting them, though, since I already have similar plugins. It also might make it harder to work quickly if I'm leaving the box constantly to tweak the units I'm looking at (a cheap exciter and an SPL TDx)
    What do you think? Get the units so I can gain some experience with different ways of mixing or save the money and focus on what I've already got?

    Hi, thanks for your amazing videos, please let me make a question . Does interface really matters a lot , when you are a beginner ? I ve been recording and mixing blues rock with my 60 eur, beringer Uhd , if I buy a id14,ssl, or maybe the new antelope zen go , or apollo, will i feel /notice a big difference in terms of audio quality ? Will it be a breakthrough?a before/after experience ? Or it will be very slight difference? Thanks a lot. I trust you.

    • @Tryggvasson
      @Tryggvasson 2 года назад

      there's a difference, i can tell you from experience. how great it is it depends on the interface, and it's not always directly proportional with the price. if you have the chance, try to compare the ones you have the money for, in similar conditions.

I'm not doing full band work in my tiny "studio" space. I'm wondering about stepping up my interface. I need something that will allow me to record acoustic and vocals together, or vocals with top and bottom on djembe. What would you suggest for someone with very little money that doesn't go directly to his kids?

Since I mic my amp with an SM58 (all I have other than my NT1A which is set up as my vocal mic ((can you tell I'm a bedroom producer?))) I have never thought to use a condenser.
