    Hi, interesting and informative review. But isn't this model the same as the iKier K1 Ultra: 36W, only it's painted black.
    Have you ever tested laser engraving on a 3D model that you previously engrave on a CNC router? Can this laser and also the IKIER adjust the height of the Z-axis controlled via NC code?
    What is the engraving speed then, because the motor for the Z-axis is much slower. As shown for the model NEJE 4 max.

    Hi, great video, very detailed. I have recently taken delivery of this machine and I note from the files on the USB stick supplied with it that it has a 'Standard' mode and a 'Fast' mode. Have you done any tests of these modes or know how to use the fast mode? Have you by chance created a Lightburn .clb file for this L2 36W machine? Thanks

      It's hard to troubleshoot via RUclips comments. I would start by checking the wiring. Make sure all the connectors are seated tight. Also check the pins in the connectors, I've seem some come loose over time. If it's been running a while but recently stopped take the module off, take the air assist cone off and inspect the lens cover and lens. Make sure they are clean and clear.

    Have you tried jtech laser on Onefinity if so what are your thoughts. Thinking of going in that direction to save space

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Год назад

      I have not tried the Jtech laser or any other on the Onefinity. The speeds of the CNC will be a bit limiting on engraving and with the diode lasers they are small enough to hang on the wall out of the way. I also would not want to keep the laser module on the cnc spindle mount while doing cnc carving as the dust created would be bad for the module over time. It’s still a decent option if you need to save the space and run just one machine but with them separate, you can set up each to do it’s primary job well and run them both at the same time if needed.

    I have the SculpFun lasers- I am not impressed with the product design.
    I had to engrave 500 plaques and the cleaning of the laser head module was a nightmare. I wonder how the cleaning is for this laser. Can you provide a video for the cleaning?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Год назад +1

      That was actually on my list of things to do on a number of the different modules I have now. I do like the design of this air assist cone that in theory, should help reduce the smoke and debris getting to the lens. I also tend to run at least low pressure air even when engraving just to keep some positive air flow through the nozzle to keep the smoke away from the lens.

    my finger is on the buy button, but it looks like there is a lack of support, I sent an email, tried the chat bot twice, and called the number twice and it says the mailbox is not set up. I really want to buy it during the sale, but I feel like I will get sucked into a bad purchase if I can't reach support if needed. Has anyone reading this hat any Atezr customer support interactions they can tell us about?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  10 месяцев назад

      I have not had to reach out to support with Atzer so far so I cannot speak to the response time. Hopefully the current delay is just due to China on Lunar New year celebration, but I have heard others talk about delays as well. It's concerning as they have made some nice lasers. But support is critical if you have issues that need to be addressed.

    • @rogerlikes
      @rogerlikes 10 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the reply. Still no response to the email, or chat bot. I tried to call the number on the website again this morning just to give them a final chance. The phone just rings then goes to a msg saying the mail box is not set up. After that it just hangs up, so you can't leave a VM. Bummer, I really wanted that unit, especially with the hight control, and auto air assist. Now I am researching the NEJE Max 4 20W it has z control as well. and it has a large expandable bed. Basically it looks like all of them are a gamble. Trying not to jump on the X-tool unit, but from a support standpoint I may. Or make the jump to a co2@@Vintauri

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  10 месяцев назад

      The NEJE lasers are nice but they do require a bit more in assembly and the instructions can be a bit left to interpretation. I really like how Neje did the Z axis as well. @TheClackShack did a video on that unit that you should check out. I'm working with a new xTool S1 40w as well and I'm liking how they do the variable Z axis.

      @Vintauri  Год назад

      I used a 500x500mm Honeycomb panel that I already had and I was able to just fit it into the large comgrow enclosure. For the panel make sure it's a steel weave and not Aluminum such as this one. amzn.to/46qZYqH Here is the enclosure that I used, but it was a snug fit. amzn.to/46kGBiT If you want something that has a little more room side to side and front to back this one would fit better but wont be as tall if you are looking to add a camera. amzn.to/3PtEYsk

    Hi, hoping you are still checking this feed. I bought the L2-36w unit as a pre order and received it in June. Last week the auto focus stopped working. Looks like from the FB group this is becoming a common problem. Wondering if you have encountered this problem and if yes, were you able to fix it. Customer service is very slow to respond and when they do as of yet, they have no fix for the issue. Not sure if it’s a laser module issue or a mother board issue. Hoping you can shed some light.

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Год назад

      I have not been working with the L2-36 much recently, but I have been trying to work with an Ikier Pro Max 24/48 unit which is almost identical. I've had a lot of issues with the autofocus failing to work properly on that one. They just sent me a new unit so I'll be seeing if it works any better. I have seen others talk more about the autofocus being problematic which is unfortunate. It would be really nice if they would fix the code so that it did not loose the x/y homing when the autofocus fails. At least then I could manually focus and keep working.

    • @tracyreinmiller6663
      @tracyreinmiller6663 Год назад +1

      Hi Thank you for the quick response. So you believe this is a coding issue and not a laser module failure? Interesting, hadn't thought of it being a coding issue. If yes, then they could write a fix for the problem with a firmware update perhaps. I was just looking at the Ikier model as a possible replacement. Given your current issues, I think I'll wait to see how your new unit turns out. Do you recommend any one unit that is at least 30 plus watts? I'm okay with manual focus if need be. The auto focus is a nice perk but not a requirement per se. I want to stick with a diode for now and budget is open. I would like a large work area so something that can be extended is helpful too. I appreciate your input and love your videos. I've learned so much watching you, Clack Shack and Louisiana Hobby guy. @@Vintauri

    Very informative video. I think I'm convinced this will be my next laser. I was wondering. When you were demonstrating the power failure/resume feature with the pendant and you were able to set the location at the bottom-left. Would that work when using Lightburn also, or is that a feature only when you've put the file into the controller? That would come in handy when I'm using my honeycomb. Thanks.

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Год назад

      The power resume feature only works from the offline controller as far as I know. It would be great to get it working from Lightburn. That being said, if you have a long burn where you might be concerned about a power outage, then you could export the job from lighburn, then run it from the USB port and offline controller.

      @@Vintauri I'm sorry, after i reread that I realize I made that confusing. If I'm using Lightburn, can I establish the location of my workpiece like you did with the controller when you picked "bottom left" and start my cut/engrave there? Or is that only possible when you load your program into the controller? Hopefully that makes more sense?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Год назад +1

      Lighburn should auto detect your laser when you go to the devices tab. From there you’ll want to follow the manual to set up the autofocus feature. Once you have that going then I would run some material test grids to get a feel for what your laser can do. I have another video that talks about the material tests I recommend watching. Just have some scrap material on hand to play with and get used to your laser! You’ll soon figure out your workflow on using it. Congrats and have fun!

      Make sure you use the cable that comes with the machine to connect it to the USB of your machine. Most cables will not recognize your laser. I’m making a review video of the 36 watt L2 today.

But I think it was a different problem but by then I had already moved the machine closer to the computer so I'll stick with the original cable. Have you done a focus test? You forgot to mention that support for this item is trash. First of all, you cannot purchase spare parts such as certain cables, the x-axis adjuster, or even a laser module to use as a spare. My autofocus failed. which seems to be common for this model (google it), and support could not fix it. The flame detection failed and the laser continued to burn and did not return to the "home" location causing the laser head to melt. Atezr would only replace the laser head with a 5w laser and stated it would work on my machine. I'm still fighting with them to honor their warranty... 3 months later.

      @@Vintauri Totally understand. I wish I was a rare case but I have spoken with others who experience the same issues. I mostly wanted to point the issue out since this is a hidden downside until one actually has to use it. By the time your viewers have to experience their support (and they absolutely will), they will be stuck with an expensive paperweight. Currently I have over 40 back-and-forth emails (over 2 months) on one issue alone with no signs of achieving any resolution. They stall by asking redundant questions and asking for the resubmitting of photos multiple times. Anyway, I just wanted to provide your viewers with more data when determining on purchasing an Atezr product.
