Great presentation of the issue the CPSC has brought to light. As a new 65-year-old rider (less than a year riding) I am pretty much obsessed with my Onewheel! There are plenty of other sports that are just as dangerous, if not more so, than riding a Onewheel. Why the CPSC decided to pick on the Onewheel is beyond me. As any of the other ones, board sport or other, you accept the risks when you take on the sport. Riding a Onewheel is no different. Float on my friends and don't let the naysayers deter you! Keep the stoke alive!
My wife got me a Onewheel GT last November for my 70th Birthday and I love riding it every chance I get!
I'll one day switch from the stock treaded tire to the Enduro .... after I totally were out the stock tire, but overall I love my GT just the way it is!... especially love the half way warning signal telling to turn around when I reach 50% battery power.
It's never failed to get me back home.

Dude, amazing video! I see you're considering joining a group ride in the comments and I can't recommend Float Pack's Friday rides in SF enough. I'm assuming you're up in the north bay but if you're really feeling like trekking for one, Float Addicts puts on a huge group ride every 1st Friday of the month in San Jose. Either one has riders of all skill levels and usually a few riders on Pint Xs, so you'd be fine if that's your biggest concern :)
Wow! I appreciate the insight🎉 Yes I’ve considered group rides but I’ve never had the time, even when I set up a group ride in my area, no other riders would show up (presuming they dont have time) I don’t blame them, hopefully I’ll experience a proper group soon.

Great video! One suggestion I make from the one major fall I had, was don't wear a baseball cap with your helmet and sunglasses. When I wiped out, my helmet smashed my hat into my sunglasses, which pushed the glasses into my eyebrown and gave me a pretty big laceration/scar now. Could of lost my eye. Just a warning, I got lucky!
It’s a great suggestion and I will consider it, but I would have to say that I have to wear glasses in some shape or form because I actually need too because I’m nearsighted. The sun glasses are prescribe, and the hat is to keep the sun out of my eyes. I appreciate the warning and the concern, but at the end of the day it’s a risk that I am willing to take to enjoy such a device.
@@DucEvolution I'm the same haha, sunglasses were prescribed and the hat honestly helped my helmet feel more secure, and blocking the sun. I usually ride with a fullface now when I'm alone, but in group rides I still rock the helmet/hat/sunglasses combo, so completely understand! Float on my man, and stay safe!
Rate yourself an average rider if you want but this video is top quality. Ride safe, have fun.

i ride my onewheel for 5 years..! here in germany it is complete illegal.i have to keep my eyes open everytime
🤯 I had no clue about that in Germany, hopefully one day things will change for all onewheel riders there.
This was awesome luv it! Also i do hope like they don't ban it outright. Like even bikes are dangerous and can "eject" you when you're using it. I feel instead they should like give driving licenses for onewheels like how they do for cars and stuff. It may feel overkill but I'm sure it will reduce the accidents cause of user error. A sweet spot you may call it and solves the current issues i think.
Thank you, luckily here in the states we wouldn’t have that kind of banned issue for the onewheel. Fortunately there’s plenty of video to help teach how to ride, no doubt even classes exists out there by someone.

If the Onewheel got banned there is still electric mountain boards.😃 These don’t nose dive. Ever!
Annnnnd they now commercially available fully built at a cost similar to Onewheel. Annnnnnd you don’t have to sent it back to the manufacturer to have the tires (tire) replaced. And the range on most pre built or self built is over 50 miles.

I can understand, I rejected road motorcycle groups rides a decade ago...I have no idea about the skill, mindset or sensibility of a members of random group ride organised until it's too late, so I just don't partake.
@@monyx1101 very strange. You'd never know what they are like if you don't try. Why share to SM if you don't want to share with the local community?
Not many group rides around me. I went to Chicago for a group ride once. Wasn't really my thing. I was riding the Pint then. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more on the GT.
