Matthew 6:33 - "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
This verse has been misunderstood as a promise that when we seek God's Kingdom and live a righteous life all our desires and wishes will be fulfilled by God and we will lack no good thing.
But was Jesus guaranteeing fulfilment of all our desires in this verse...?

Thank you so much for explaining that verse in its rightful context.
"Seek" means to search, to find out, to enquire about God's Kingdom which consists of Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost.

The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness is simply..Love and Peace. Jesus said to be Perfect as your Father..Love your enemies and Jesus said peacemakers are the children of God. We seek Love and Peace.

What about the verse where it says: if you pray to The Father in My name I will do it for you??
What about : everything is possible to those who believe?
What about: if you are Christ's you are heir to the promise given to Abraham??

If you seek the kingdom first and his righteousness then ‘ all these things’ will be added to you, he mean all things mentioned as food , clothing etc as gentiles want , as god knows what we need , our father knows what we need and we are provided for .
Knowing the heart of the father to do his work he will provide and give the desires of our heart, our father’ desire to give us the kingdom’ . We will be equipped to do any good work that father wants us to do . He will not give you riches to be selfish but to be a blessing and bring value and serve to their people . That is my view on this verse.

God is bigger then that yes he does what us to prosper even as our soul prosper’s he said our very best is filthy rags to him , look at the world and see how beautiful it is, God did that God is not man. Heaven is more beautiful then anything we can imagine.God don’t want us sick and poor , man does because he is far from God and don’t know him like I said God is a big God. Now you tell that to somebody who don’t know any better. Look up see the universe who put it there it’s beautiful God did that . Remember who put Jesus on the cross. He came to this world to tell us we can have life more abundantly. So for that they killed him. 🙏 amen

Amen. “The kingdom”: This is the same as the kingdom of heaven. It refers to the sphere of salvation. Jesus was urging them to seek salvation - and with it would come the full care and provision of God (Rom. 8:32; Phil. 4:19; 1 Peter 5:7).

How to put god first in your life... please explain

    • @sarahpierre12
      @sarahpierre12 2 года назад +7

Praying every morning and night, doing Bible study, devoting your plans and time to Gods will, removing any distractions that will hinder you from thinking about God first. It could social media, money, lustful thoughts, business, marriages, relationships etc. you’re literally putting God first. you’re keeping God in the center of where you are. Before an exam you might pray. As you’re leaving your house you might pray. Before Bible study you might pray. In your struggles or hardships praying, worshipping, and praising are some ways you’re putting God first. Through any and everything you’re first acknowledging God for who he is and what he has done. I hope that answers your question.
I know I’m a year late but I’m glad I was able to provide an answer. Hopefully someone else in the future will see this and learn from it.

I used to ask this question myself. Root word is "right." In other words, discover what is right (things to do or not do) according to God's will or His commands. For example, look at the 10 suggestions...I mean Commandments. It is safe to say that following or committing these guidelines into practice in my daily life is seeking His Righteousness.
By seeking His Righteousness, you are also displaying your love for God at the same time.
There's probably more to it than I can perceive.

Just because he was expanding the verse to dig much deeper on the meaning of the passage for people to understand, then come up with all things as the "basic needs", doesn't necessarily mean he is trying to limit the capability of God.
These kind of videos are essential for believers cause one of the ways in understanding the scriptures is understanding the context. And you do that by exegesis and hermeneutics.
This guy is not limiting the power of God, he is actually expanding and focusing on God's capability and ability to provide clothes, food and water.
      Hope this helps brother.

@@OliVer-gm9cl you've really got the point. This video is all about context, and context is generally specified by slight details in the text.

@@HENOC.S Yes! If any word is applicable, surely limiting is not appropriate but rather MAGNIFYING His capabilities into it.

The speaker brings out quite clearly that God will provide your needs but not to think that if we put God first, He will give us everything we want (that will make us greedy). Prioritising God in our lives will help us to give the correct value to the other things in our lives, like food, clothing etc.
